History

Demon Collusion and Su Daqiang’s Death

For years, the Liu Family offered living people to demons outside Nanhe County in exchange for assistance, using these arrangements to strengthen its lineage. Old Li identified Liu Qingyun when revealing the conspiracy to Su Yu 3.

Three years before the main conflict, Su Daqiang obtained evidence of the family’s collusion. The Liu Family supplied false intelligence for his expedition to Tiger Head Mountain: instead of a small group of early-stage Mortal Realm tiger demons, his team encountered an avatar of a Mystic Realm greater demon and was wiped out. The family later searched the Su residence but failed to recover his evidence 14.

During the same three-year period, Liu Qingyun became the personal disciple of the Demon God Cult’s Seventh Elder, giving the family a connection to the cult’s higher ranks 28.

Attempts to Kill Su Yu

The family paid Zhao Lei’s group fifty taels to betray Su Yu. The guards intended to report that he had died fighting demons and collect death benefits, but Su Yu survived and killed them 2 3.

A Liu-marked token recovered from Old Li emitted a sweet fragrance that disturbed Su Yu’s blood and Qi. He concluded that the token had helped turn the patrol into living bait for a dog demon. A crow subsequently watched his return to Nanhe County and flew toward the Liu Residence 4.

After learning that Su Yu had survived and been promoted, Liu Qingyun ordered Liu Ying to arrange an escort assignment that would take him outside the city. Liu Ying secured the transfer order through Lin Xiao, placing Su Yu on the mission to transport Ghost Shadow Sect prisoners to Tiannan Commandery 5 6.

Blackwater Village and the Escort Ambush

The family sent Ying San and two other Fifth Layer assassins after Su Yu at Blackwater Village. All three died. Su Yu also uncovered the family’s role in supplying villagers as sacrifices for the Demon God Cult’s Blood Baleful Intent Demon Corpse ritual 8 9 11.

The destruction of the Blackwater Village outpost prompted Liu Qingyun to dispatch Liu Xiong after Liu Ying’s escort party. At Black Wind Valley, Liu Ying ordered her trusted guards ahead, leaving Su Yu and Tang Shan exposed to Liu Xiong’s attack. Su Yu survived the arrows and killed Liu Xiong in direct combat 13 17.

A Mortal Realm Ninth Layer old man had also agreed to eliminate Su Yu for the family. Su Yu evaded him long enough to kill Liu Ying’s guards and Liu Ying herself, despite her offers of money, resources, and submission 19.

Public Exposure and Destruction

Liu Ang blocked Nanhe County’s gate with more than a hundred guards to confront Su Yu over Liu Ying’s death. Su Yu crippled him, survived the family archers’ poisoned volley, and beheaded both Liu Ang and guard captain Liu Hu. He then handed bloodstained letters documenting the family’s crimes to Lin Xiao, who ordered its members and private soldiers to surrender as traitors 21 22.

When the Demon Suppression Bureau surrounded the estate, Liu Tianjue resisted with raised corpses and a blood-thread barrier. He also deployed Su Daqiang’s corpse, which the Demon God Cult had transformed through Corpse Fiend Rebirth into a soulless Spirit Realm First Level weapon 24.

Su Yu defeated the puppet and killed cult envoy Yin Jiuyou. Liu Tianjue then fought Su Yu and Lin Xiao directly, relying on his formidable bodily defenses. Su Yu’s Prohibition Blood Formation restrained him, allowing Vajra Demon-Subduing Fist to break his defenses and inflict a fatal injury. Before being beheaded, Liu Tianjue threatened revenge through Qingyun 26 27 28.

A Spirit Realm Fifth Level demon subsequently emerged from the estate’s dry well. The fighting left the county’s Demon Suppression Guard with over half its personnel lost and nearly all its core members dead or wounded 28 31.

Confiscation and Surviving Threats

Lin Xiao ordered the family’s wealth seized by the Demon Suppression Bureau, explicitly protecting the funds intended as compensation for fallen guards. Su Yu received first choice from the treasure pavilion and took Vajra Demonic Baleful Intent and several bottles of pills 31 32.

Officials publicly announced Liu Tianjue’s execution and the confiscation, read out the family’s crimes, and exposed what it had kept beneath the dry well. Lin Xiao also ordered action against every family member involved in colluding with the Demon God Cult 32.

The family’s destruction did not end the threat. A Demon God Cult figure offered three thousand mid-grade spirit stones for Su Yu’s head as an offering to the Liu Family. Qingyun later learned that the family’s Nanhe County foundation had been uprooted by the Bureau 41 43.
