Jun Yi grew up under Xue Qinghe’s protection, awakened the Op-Op Fruit, and gained the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s support through his Soul Tools and training. After six years of building his strength and forging weapons, he joined Ning Rongrong in meeting Brother Qinghe at the main hall.
Jun Yi, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing arrived at Shrek Academy, where they passed the entrance trials and clashed with its staff over its treatment of students. After Ning Rongrong defeated Dai Mubai with her Soul Tools, the three decided to leave, and Jun Yi revealed her identity to deter Dai Mubai from threatening Zhu Zhuqing.
Jun Yi, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing left Shrek Academy and enrolled at Spirit Hall Academy, where Jun Yi repeatedly refused invitations to join Spirit Hall. His victories attracted Bibi Dong’s attention, and the stretch ended with him intimidating the remaining contestants in the freshman competition.
Jun Yi won Spirit Hall Academy’s entrance competition, took leave, and secured a place on Heaven Dou Team One before reaching Dugu Bo’s medicinal garden. He cured Dugu Bo and Dugu Yan, gained immortal herbs and ice powers, and secured Dugu Bo’s support for an independent Soul Tool faction.
Jun Yi treated Dugu Bo and Dugu Yan, helped Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing evolve their Martial Souls, and crossed paths with Shrek Academy during the search for Soul Rings. After returning to Heaven Dou Royal Academy, he was invited to represent its new students in an expanded exchange tournament.
Jun Yi joined Heaven Dou Royal Academy’s competition team, demonstrated his strength to visiting academies, and helped Qin Ming train the team. As the tournament opened, Xue Qinghe apologized to Jun Yi while concealing his identity as Qian Renxue, and Jun Yi continued building ties with Skywater Academy.
Jun Yi dominated the individual arena challenge and helped Heaven Dou Royal Academy advance through the tournament, while several factions took notice of his abilities. The arc left Heaven Dou Royal Academy preparing for the final after Dugu Yan defeated Blazing Fire Academy and grew closer to Jun Yi.
After Heaven Dou Royal Academy won the championship, Jun Yi gave Dugu Yan a protective Soul Tool and left to travel alone, troubled by the deals made around him. He absorbed the Ice Dragon King’s remnant soul, gained new power, rescued Liu Erlong’s group, and reached the Lake of Life seeking the Soul Beasts.
Jun Yi helped Zhu Zhuqing break free from her engagement, then brought her to the Far North, where she absorbed the Snow Empress’s power. After Dugu Yan defeated Tang San at Heaven Dou Royal Academy, Jun Yi and Zhu Zhuqing intervened when Yan and Xie Yue were attacked by Evil Soul Masters, and Jun Yi began restoring the gravely injured Yan.
Jun Yi returned to Heaven Dou Royal Academy, confronted the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect over Sword Douluo’s attack, and helped Zhu Zhuqing receive the Sea God’s Heart. As Qian Renxue tried to recruit Jun Yi, he revealed the painful history of her parents.
Jun Yi captured Tang Hao, took the Blue Silver Emperor’s power and Soul Bone, and endured a worsening affliction as he traveled toward the tournament finals. Meanwhile, Qian Renxue reunited with Bibi Dong, and Jun Yi’s returning system and hidden power drew Qian Daoliu’s attention.
Jun Yi helped Bibi Dong seal and remove the Rakshasa Divine Sense, but its power sent them forty years into the past, where they met the younger Bibi Dong and visited her old friend Xu Rong'er. As Jun Yi searched for a way back and restored his abilities, he absorbed the Rakshasa power and encountered the Blue Silver Emperor.
Jun Yi strengthened his body and sought Divine Power to restore his system while he and Pope Bibi Dong remained in the past. After training the young Bibi Dong and placing her with Xu Rong'er, they entered Blue Lightning City to draw out Yu Yuanzhen and his brothers.
Jun Yi and Pope Bibi Dong devastated the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, strengthened Bibi Dong, and guided the young Bibi Dong through Slaughter City before returning to their own timeline. Jun Yi reunited with his companions as the tournament resumed and Shrek Academy faced the Spirit Hall Academy Team.
Jun Yi and Heaven Dou Royal Academy won the tournament, but the celebration turned into a confrontation over Xiao Wu and Tang Hao that ended with Xiao Wu sacrificing herself and Tang Hao carrying Tang San away. Jun Yi then helped send Yan, Hu Liena, Dugu Yan, and Zhu Zhuqing to Slaughter City, while Tang Hao began guiding Tang San toward awakening his Blue Silver Emperor Martial Soul.
Tang San began training with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and accepted the Asura God’s inheritance, while Jun Yi killed Tang Chen and fought off the god’s divine sense. After the God of Judgment came for Jun Yi, Jun Yi lured him away and arranged for the God King of Goodness to take him into custody.
Jun Yi’s ties to Bibi Dong deepened as the wedding of Tang San and Ning Rongrong became a turning point, followed by the destruction of two great clans and a widening conflict with Spirit Hall. Meanwhile, Zhu Zhuqing passed the Sea God’s trial, and Tang San sought acceptance into the Clear Sky Sect.
Spirit Hall and Xuejun Pavilion maneuver against the returning Clear Sky Sect as Tang San enters Slaughter City and Jun Yi pursues greater power. The Clear Sky Sect allies with Heaven Dou and Star Luo, while Jun Yi strips Di Tian of Ultimate Darkness and reaches the threshold of godhood.
As Spirit Hall and the alliance fought for control of the continent, Jun Yi gathered divine power and returned to find the war at a stalemate. At a banquet meant to test him, Ning Fengzhi exposed himself as the alliance’s mole and demanded Ning Rongrong’s life in exchange for sparing the gathered leaders and his uncles.
Jun Yi survived the collapse of the Alliance, defeated the God of Poisoning and the Asura God, and helped Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue ascend as gods. As Tang San prepared to challenge Spirit Hall again, the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King attacked Sea God Island and transformed into a dragon.
