Background / History

Orphanage and Recruitment

Jiang Xia transmigrates into the era of the Legend of the Dragon King with knowledge of its original story. His parents reportedly die in an accident when he is three, leaving a substantial estate. Officials place him in an orphanage instead of allowing him to inherit, while others embezzle the property and alter his household registration. Without influence or investigative means, he waits three years for his martial soul awakening 1 2.

After awakening Broken Dream with full innate Soul Power, he immediately joins the Spirit Pagoda to leave the orphanage and obtain support. Han Tianyi, a mental specialist and Four-Word Battle Armor Master, accepts him as his first disciple. Jiang Xia asks branch master Yao Hongchen to investigate his stolen inheritance and his parents’ deaths before departing for Shrek City 1 2 3.

Investigation into His Parents’ Deaths

Yao Hongchen discovers that Jiang Xia’s parents—both Soul Kings—were targeted by evil soul masters, while the family that stole their estate helped conceal the crimes. He suspects that Jiang Xia was deliberately spared so that his developing talent could later become another resource for the killers 5 6.

Jiang Xia memorizes a list of associated evil soul masters and calmly witnesses the execution of the four estate thieves. Yao Hongchen also identifies a possible connection to a woman named Long Bing, though her responsibility remains unproven 6.

Later, Jiang Xia confronts Wu Zhangkong about Long Bing. Wu insists that her use of that name is inconsistent with the accusation, but Jiang Xia refuses to treat Wu’s personal attachment as evidence of innocence. Wu promises to investigate the matter 36.

Eastsea Academy and the Skysea Alliance Tournament

Han Tianyi arranges Jiang Xia’s enrollment at Eastsea Academy, where he joins Class Zero. When Wu Zhangkong challenges his limited direct combat experience, Jiang Xia proposes partnering with Gu Yue against the other four students. Their victory establishes the practical value of his amplification abilities 20 22 24.

Class Zero’s weekly Spirit Ascension Platform visits become opportunities to study elemental techniques, bloodlines, and virtual-space mechanics. Jiang Xia also clears the Tang Sect’s Hall of Heroes assessment, but declines membership because he already belongs to the Spirit Pagoda 27 33 36.

At the Skysea Alliance Tournament, he defeats Ye Xinglan with a single restrained Spirit Ray. Class Zero wins the 3v3 championship, ending the academy administration’s objections to the resources spent on the class 48.

Turning Dreams into Reality

Following the tournament, Jiang Xia works with Han Tianyi to bring Broken Dream’s simulations into reality. Their successful model allows him to control real elements and finally condense genuine Blood Essence Power. He subsequently studies Body Sect combat techniques under Mu Ye and masters Spirit Forging under Zhen Hua 49 50.

Three years after the tournament, he accompanies Class Zero to Shrek City. While Tang Wulin absorbs his second Golden Dragon King Seal, Jiang Xia repeatedly tests his blood essence imitation and finally achieves its bodily enhancement 50.

Personality

Jiang Xia is patient, pragmatic, and strongly motivated by personal security. He endures three years in the orphanage without making a futile public struggle, then uses his awakening and new connections to pursue the people responsible. He seeks revenge, but explicitly rejects throwing his life away before he has the strength to act 1 6.

His ambition extends beyond cultivation. He intends to create a genuine realm within Broken Dream and eventually wield authority within the Spirit Pagoda. Although he identifies with the organization, he rejects allegiance to Qiangu Dongfeng’s faction 1 3 39.

He favors mutually beneficial cooperation over uncompensated sacrifice. Research with Gu Yue advances both partners, whereas tutoring classmates in inferior secondary professions would consume his time without helping his own development. His caution also leads him to postpone unrestricted access to Tang Wulin’s bloodline when he suspects danger from the powerful remnant soul inside him 42 43 47 48.

His confidence in knowing the original story is a vulnerability. Discovering that Tang Wulin has no sister named Na’er unsettles him because it suggests that future events—including catastrophic attacks—may no longer follow his expectations 38 41.

Broken Dream

Broken Dream is an illusory dreamscape whose apparent incompleteness allows it to connect with another person’s spiritual consciousness. Jiang Xia develops it toward internal world construction rather than relying solely on outward illusions 1.

• Spiritual connections: Links minds and wills, allowing shared perception and coordinated action 24.
• Burden sharing: Another person’s spiritual will can support him during Soul Spirit fusion, allowing him to exceed his normal spiritual capacity 7 12.
• Virtual-world analysis: Within the Spirit Ascension Platform, he can examine simulated transformations more thoroughly than their real-world equivalents 27.
• Soul Spirit–space anchoring: Soul Spirits can house illusory spaces, while those spaces support and house the Soul Spirits. Excessive growth beyond Broken Dream’s capacity risks backlash 31.

First Soul Skill: Illusory Dream Imitation

Illusory Dream Imitation combines external visual imitation with replication inside dreams at the level of underlying principles 12.

• Alters light propagation to conceal Jiang Xia or change his apparent appearance and Soul Rings 12.

Second Soul Skill: Spirit Detection

Spirit Detection initially provides omnidirectional perception within twenty meters. Jiang Xia can inspect fine details wherever he focuses, but it does not independently analyze everything or continuously alert him like an additional mind 12.

Granted by the Mutated Evil Eye, Spirit Ray combines mental annihilation, paralysis, and stunning. It supplies the direct offensive power that Jiang Xia initially lacks 22 32.

• Can shatter the mind of an opponent whose spiritual power is far below his own 32.
• Against closer opponents, attacks their mental defenses before applying prolonged paralysis and stunning 32.
• Can affect spiritually stronger targets for at least three seconds within the stated limit of roughly ten times his spiritual power, provided they have not reached the Spirit Abyss Realm 32.
