"Aliens speak Mandarin too?" The moment he heard the celestial speak, Lin Shen was a little stunned.
Even over two hundred years ago, when human technology had been at its peak, no one had been able to leave the solar system, much less discover aliens.
Besides, how many years of history did humanity have? How many years had Mandarin even existed? Even if someone had set off in a light-speed spacecraft the day Mandarin appeared, they probably still would not have reached an alien planet by now. Spreading Mandarin to aliens? What a joke.
Yet that celestial's Mandarin was truly standard—at least, Lin Shen felt it was definitely more standard than his own.
Watching the celestial's white jade armor vanish, revealing his original appearance and that smiling face, Lin Shen found the sight oddly unsettling no matter how he looked at it.
Wei Wufu wiped the Gene Mutation Fluid from his mouth and said, seeming somewhat embarrassed, "You die, waste."
Lin Shen understood Wei Wufu. What Wei Wufu meant was that he had thought the celestial was already dead, and it would have been a waste for all that Gene Mutation Fluid to spill onto the ground.
But the celestial did not understand Wei Wufu. His smiling face gradually turned cold as he stared at Wei Wufu and said, "You wanted me dead. It seems I was wrong to call you friend. Trash like you does not deserve to be my friend, so you can only die."
Lin Shen finally understood why Wei Wufu was socially anxious. With his way of speaking, if he were not socially anxious, everyone else would be.
Clearly feeling that explaining was too troublesome, Wei Wufu simply did not bother.
"Pretend. You. Weak. Lie down," Wei Wufu said.
No one knew how Tian Xin had understood it, but he somehow did. His face darkened even further. "You said I was pretending, said I was weak, and told me to lie down and await death?"
"You. No strength," Wei Wufu said again.
"Fine, fine, fine! A crippled Alloy Grade human actually dares say I have no strength? Then I'll show you whether I, Tian Xin, have any strength at all." The celestial threw a punch straight at the seated Wei Wufu.
Lin Shen hesitated over whether to help. That celestial called Tian Xin was far too terrifying, two whole levels above him. He did not believe he could kill Tian Xin while crossing two levels.
Wei Wufu unexpectedly showed no intention of dodging. One hand braced against the ground while the other clenched into a fist and met the blow.
The two fists collided. To Lin Shen's surprise, they were evenly matched. Wei Wufu's seated upper body was knocked backward into the giant python. The impact did not seem heavy, and he quickly straightened up again.
Tian Xin also staggered back several steps, nearly falling to the ground.
Wei Wufu was only Alloy Grade, a level below Tian Xin, yet that exchange had ended in a draw. Even Lin Shen could see that Tian Xin had expended far too much in his battle with the giant python. He had no strength left now and might even be injured, though nothing showed on the surface.
"Stop pretending. Lie down," Wei Wufu said as he looked at Tian Xin.
At those words, Tian Xin forcibly swallowed the blood that had risen to his lips. He stood there stiffly, so furious that he laughed. "Fine, fine, fine! A crippled Alloy Grade piece of trash actually dares mock me. Today, I'll show you just how easy it is to kill trash like you."
As he spoke, Tian Xin produced a gun from somewhere and pointed its muzzle at Wei Wufu. "Uncivilized country bumpkin, do you know what this is?"
"Celestials use guns too?" Lin Shen was astonished.
He had thought Tian Xin's arrogant tone meant he would pull out something earth-shattering. Instead, it was just a revolver.
A handgun should not have enough power to harm a Mutated Alloy Gene Mutation user like Wei Wufu. Lin Shen could not understand why Tian Xin had brought out a gun at this moment. Could it be some high-tech product, like a laser gun?
Lin Shen had initially thought Tian Xin would bring out some powerful Gene Mutation Pet.
"Pet Capsule Handgun!" Wei Wufu rarely spoke a complete sentence, and his gaze turned somewhat grave.
"I didn't expect an uncivilized country bumpkin like you to have some knowledge. You actually recognize a Pet Capsule Handgun." Tian Xin was slightly surprised, but he immediately resumed his haughty demeanor. Holding the gun, he said, "It is indeed a Pet Capsule Handgun, but it is no ordinary Pet Capsule Handgun. It is called the Angel Revolver. Its firing acceleration can accelerate a pet's transformation speed to 44. In other words, it is even faster than Crystal Gene Level speed. The accelerated Pet Capsule can transform into its pet form in an extremely short time after leaving the muzzle. And it will reach wherever I fire at a speed of 44. Do you know what that means?"
Without waiting for Wei Wufu to answer, Tian Xin continued in a sinister tone, "And this Angel Revolver of mine has compressed space inside it that can hold seven Pet Capsules. Guess how many Crystal Gene Level Pet Capsules I loaded into it?"
Wei Wufu fell silent. Of course he knew what that meant.
He could not dodge the bullets fired from that Angel Revolver. If he tried to block them with his body, even if he used an arm to guard himself, his arm could not withstand a Crystal Gene pet slamming into him at a speed of 44.
As for how many Crystal Gene Pet Capsules were inside the Angel Revolver, that was no longer important. Just one was enough to take his life.
And there was no need to doubt it. How could a celestial not possess a Crystal Gene pet? They were born Crystal Gene Level.
Lin Shen, however, was both shocked and delighted. He had never expected such a thing as a Pet Capsule Handgun to exist.
From Tian Xin's description, a Pet Capsule Handgun was a device that accelerated a pet's transformation and gave the pet an initial velocity.
Being able to accelerate something to 44, that thing was indeed terrifying. It was far faster than inserting a key by hand to transform a Pet Capsule into combat form, and it was almost impossible for anyone to interrupt.
Still, Lin Shen did not quite understand. It seemed that using a Pet Capsule Handgun allowed a pet to transform into combat form without a key. If so, what was the point of keys even existing?
But Lin Shen was more than happy to see that. If that was really the case, then as long as he seized the gun, would not all the pets inside become his?
"High-tech stuff... I like it..." Lin Shen used the power of Gene Mutation and transformed into his Steel Body.
Mysterious steel matter surged out from his body and covered him, forming mirror-like armor that wrapped around his entire body.
"Don't shoot yet. Let's talk. We can actually work together and both come out ahead. There's no need for us to be enemies." Lin Shen hurried out from behind the reef. He had to get within seven steps of Tian Xin before Tian Xin fired the Pet Capsule.
Tian Xin was startled when another person suddenly emerged. Once he saw that the newcomer was covered in a Steel Carapace, he was so angry that he laughed. "What fucking day is this? Every piece of trash dares jump out and disgust me. First a crippled alloy, and now some Steel Grade garbage. Cooperate with me? What qualifications do country bumpkins from barbaric societies, worthless trash like you, have to cooperate with me? Do you really think I can't kill you just because I'm injured?"
"Don't. Leave," Wei Wufu said, frowning when he saw Lin Shen emerge.
He knew that although Lin Shen was only Steel Grade, if they truly fought, even Alloy Grade opponents might not be a match for him.
But the difference in levels was right there. The two of them had struggled so much against a single Mutated Alloy creature, and this Tian Xin before them was far harder to deal with than that Mutated Alloy creature.
The speed Lin Shen had displayed before was indeed fast, but compared to a Pet Capsule Handgun with a speed of 44, it was far too slow.
