Then he reconsidered. This was the Giant King's Gene Mutation Egg. How could it be so easily damaged?
"If it wasn't damaged, then it must have reached the time to hatch. It's hatching."
Wei Wufu watched from the side without speaking. He merely activated his Gene Shift Power, and mysterious matter surged from within his body, transforming into a carapace that protected his entire body.
According to Lin Shen, the Giant King was very likely Mutated Crystal Grade. Its offspring would naturally be Mutated Crystal Grade as well. Even if it had just been born and was still ignorant of the world, taming it would probably not be easy.
More and more cracks spread across the Gene Mutation Egg. Lin Shen also drew his Capsule Gun. If the little thing inside attacked him, he would make it suffer a little.

The cracks on the Gene Mutation Egg multiplied until it suddenly split in two down the middle. A round, plump thing rolled out from within.
Lin Shen and Wei Wufu had both been ready for a great beast-taming battle, but after seeing what that thing looked like, they both froze.
Even the looks in their eyes became filled with shock and disbelief.
"What the hell is this..." Lin Shen rubbed his eyes, wondering whether there was something wrong with them.
But no matter how Lin Shen rubbed them, all he could see was that chubby thing before him.
What rolled out of the Gene Mutation Egg was not a Gene Mutation Creature.
The reason he said it was not a Gene Mutation Creature was because there was not a trace of metal on its body. White feathers, a round body, red eyes, pink claws—it was every inch a fat white pigeon.
A Gene Mutation Creature could never be made of flesh and blood, so no matter how he looked at it, this fat white bird did not resemble one.
Yet it had clearly come out of the Gene Mutation Egg. If it was not a Gene Mutation Creature, then what could it be?
Lin Shen was not the only one who could not make sense of it. Even Wei Wufu looked utterly bewildered.
While the two of them were full of question marks, the little thing swayed its body and waddled toward the fragments of the Gene Mutation Egg.
Perhaps because it was too fat, it walked like a duck, its rear end swaying from side to side. It was comical, with a touch of adorably foolish charm.
The little thing pecked down with its beak, making both Lin Shen and Wei Wufu's hearts leap.
That Gene Mutation Egg had been incredibly heavy and exceptionally hard. When it rolled down the mountain, it had smashed huge rocks into pieces, yet it itself had not been harmed in the slightest.
And yet the little thing easily pecked those incomparably hard fragments apart, rapidly swallowing them piece by piece.
"This fat bird really is a Gene Mutation Creature. I just don't know why it ended up looking like this. Never mind that—tame it first." Lin Shen rushed over, intending to snatch the fragments and use his usual methods to tame this strange Gene Mutation Creature.
Lin Shen had just rushed close to the fragments and had not yet had time to pick them up when he saw the fat bird shaking its rear end as it ran toward him.
That startled Lin Shen, and he could not help backing away several steps. Wei Wufu was also facing a great enemy.
The fat bird was too plump to move quickly. It anxiously flapped its wings a few times, but perhaps it was truly too fat. Forget flying—even jumping was beyond it, and it failed to catch up with Lin Shen.
Just as Lin Shen watched its comical appearance and felt both amused and exasperated, the fat bird's body suddenly flashed and vanished from where it stood.
"Not good!" Lin Shen immediately realized something was wrong. Before he could react, he found the vanished fat bird at his feet, rubbing its round little head against his shin as though acting cute and begging for affection.
"This..." Lin Shen felt that today had truly opened his eyes. He had never seen or even heard of such a Gene Mutation Creature.
He cautiously reached out and stroked the fat bird's feathers. It did not resist at all. On the contrary, it even leaned its body into Lin Shen's hand.
After touching it, Lin Shen became even more certain that it really was flesh and blood. Beneath those snowy-white, fluffy feathers was warm flesh, absolutely not cold metal.
"What exactly is this thing? Does it have a Pet Key on it?" Lin Shen picked up the fat bird and studied it carefully. The fat bird cooperatively remained still, drawing in its neck as its red eyes curiously examined Lin Shen in return.
It would have been one thing if the Giant King's egg had not hatched into a little Giant King. Lin Shen could barely understand it hatching a bird. But why had it produced a fat pigeon made of flesh and blood?
He examined it for quite a while, yet could not find any place on its body that could hide a Pet Key.
"Key... do you have a key... give me the key..." Lin Shen said as he looked at the fat bird.
The fat bird tilted its head and looked at him with utter confusion.
Seeing that the fat bird did not understand, Lin Shen put it down and took out a Pet Key to show it. "You... do you have this... give it to me..."
The fat bird still did not understand. Its little face was full of innocence and ignorance as it shook its rear end and ran to Lin Shen's feet, affectionately rubbing its head against his leg and cooing.
"Alright, alright, stop rubbing against me. Go eat your food." Lin Shen was speechless and helpless. He picked up the fat bird and carried it back beside the Gene Mutation Egg fragments.
The fat bird happily lowered its head to peck at the fragments. The way it wiggled as it ate really did make it look adorably foolish.
"What do you think?" Lin Shen asked Wei Wufu at his side with a bitter smile.
Wei Wufu stared at the fat bird for a long while before squeezing out four words. "Too fat. Lose weight."
"I know it's fat... That's not what I meant... Forget it... Pretend I never asked..." Lin Shen was left utterly speechless.
The fat bird was about the same size as an ordinary pigeon, only much fatter—so fat it was nearly round. Combined with its white feathers, it looked like a snowball from afar.
Its body was not large, but its appetite was. So many Gene Mutation Egg fragments were completely devoured by it in no time at all.
No one knew how its tiny body had managed to eat so many fragments.
After finishing, the fat bird waddled back to Lin Shen again. It stretched out its head to rub against him, while its little claws pawed at him as though it wanted to climb up.
Lin Shen reached out and picked it up. The fat bird's weight had not increased at all.
Even Lin Shen, strengthened by Sacrifice to Heaven, had struggled to lift the Gene Mutation Egg. Yet after the fat bird ate all of its fragments, it was still very light, hardly heavier than an ordinary pigeon—as though it had not eaten those fragments at all.
"Let's go back first." Lin Shen put the fat bird into his backpack, leaving the mouth of the bag open and unfastened.
He had gotten this backpack from Tian Xin. Tian Xin had said it was a Heaven Brand bag, a famous brand on the planet where he lived.
The fat bird was quite obedient. It stayed inside the bag, its round little head sticking out as its red eyes curiously observed everything around it.
"I wonder whether getting this thing is a blessing or a curse." Lin Shen thought to himself. He was reluctant to throw the fat bird away now.
After all, although the thing was strange, anyone could see that it possessed formidable abilities.
