  • Jing Shanshan entered the gambling house after a guard tried to turn him away, and the manager's nephew gave him a chip worth one silver coin as an apology.
  • Jing Shanshan repeatedly bet on big and won, prompting the gamblers to follow his bets and costing the gambling house nearly half a year's profits.
  • The gambling house manager scolded his nephew for letting Jing Shanshan in, while the nephew wondered whether they should take back the gold coins.
  • Jing Shanshan left with nearly ten thousand gold coins in his Gate of Babylon, but a group of angry gamblers blocked him in an alley.
  • Jing Shanshan's little black cat quickly incapacitated the gamblers, and the gambling house manager arrived to ask him to show mercy.
  • Jing Shanshan accepted the manager's invitation to return to the gambling house for tea and a discussion.

Ch. 27Moonlight Pavilion: You Know This Prince?

Jing Shanshan won at Heaven Dou City's gambling houses and received a Held Pearl from a steward who wanted him to stay away. After learning about Moonlight Pavilion, he went there to observe aristocratic etiquette, where a guard challenged his claim that he knew Prince Xue Qinghe and the prince appeared.

  • Jing Shanshan told the gambling house steward that the winnings had always belonged to him, and the steward gave him a Held Pearl that could speed Soul Power recovery.
  • The steward told Jing Shanshan that nobles and royalty gathered at Moonlight Pavilion, an academy for aristocratic etiquette.
  • The next day, Jing Shanshan visited several gambling houses, increased his treasury, and then headed to Moonlight Pavilion with his little black cat.
  • A guard stopped Jing Shanshan at the entrance and mocked him and his cat, prompting the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger to bristle and leap down.
  • Jing Shanshan said he knew Prince Xue Qinghe, and the guard laughed until Xue Qinghe came out and asked whether Jing Shanshan knew him.

Ch. 28Xue Qinghe

Jing Shanshan entered the Heaven Dou Empire Court Etiquette Academy with Xue Qinghe, whose questions revealed that he knew about the future figure in Jing Shanshan’s Martial Soul. The chapter ended with Jing Shanshan turning the question of Qian Renxue’s identity back on Xue Qinghe.

  • Xue Qinghe greeted Jing Shanshan at the academy gate and offered to show him around, while the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger reacted with hostility toward him.
  • Jing Shanshan surveyed the academy and asked about its founder, learning from Xue Qinghe that Tang Yuehua had built the Moonlight Pavilion’s reputation but was rarely there.
  • Jing Shanshan bluntly asked Xue Qinghe what he wanted, and Xue Qinghe led him to a secluded room for a private conversation.
  • Xue Qinghe asked whether Jing Shanshan knew who he was, and Jing Shanshan identified him as the Heaven Dou Empire’s prince.
  • Xue Qinghe asked whether the person from the future in Jing Shanshan’s Martial Soul was Qian Renxue, and Jing Shanshan replied by asking what Xue Qinghe thought.

Ch. 29Kill Tang San! Strangle This Cancer in Its Cradle!

Xue Qinghe and the Spirit Hall elders questioned Shadow Doll Puppet Qian Renxue about Spirit Hall’s future destruction and learned that Tang San was responsible. They decided not to act against him until they had confirmed the details, and considered asking the Great Enshrined to handle him.

  • Xue Qinghe dismissed Jing Shanshan and watched her leave before Porcupinefish Douluo Ci Xue emerged from the shadows and asked whether they should take her into custody.
  • Xue Qinghe told Ci Xue to keep observing Jing Shanshan, then asked about the future Qian Renxue, who was reportedly cultivating.
  • Shadow Doll Puppet Qian Renxue warned Xue Qinghe that Spirit Hall could still be destroyed, and revealed that Qian Daoliu had examined Xue Qinghe and continued the Nation-Stealing Plan.
  • Ci Xue urged them to focus on why Spirit Hall was destroyed, so Shadow Doll Qian Renxue recounted the important future events she knew.
  • Snake Lance Douluo She Long proposed killing Tang San, but Ci Xue warned him about Clear Sky Douluo and Qian Xunji, then suggested that the Great Enshrined deal with Tang San.

Ch. 30The next Soul Master Tournament: Tang San

Xue Qinghe and the Spirit Hall elders discussed how to use future knowledge to deal with Tang San, while verifying the information given by the future Qian Renxue. Two days later, Jing Shanshan decided to visit Yu Xiaogang in Nuoding City, but Qian Daoliu unexpectedly appeared.

  • Xue Qinghe persuaded She Long and Ci Xue to wait for a chance to trap Tang San during the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament rather than risk a premature attack.
  • The Shadow Doll Puppet Qian Renxue explained that she did not know how she had traveled to the past or come to reside in a child's Martial Soul.
  • Ci Xue reported that Spirit Hall records confirmed Tang San's origins and innate full Soul Power, and linked Yu Xiaogang to the claim that he would teach two gods.
  • Two days later, Jing Shanshan told Qian Renxue he planned to visit Yu Xiaogang in Nuoding City to ask about Martial Souls and shattered Soul Rings.
  • Qian Renxue worried that Jing Shanshan's visit could change the future, but Qian Daoliu suddenly appeared and Jing Shanshan demanded to know why he was there.

Ch. 31Could He Really Sprout Wings and Escape? Yu Xiaogang

Jing Shanshan traveled to find Yu Xiaogang after Qian Daoliu gave him a Spirit Hall token and let him pursue the changing future. After discovering Yu Xiaogang at Shrek Academy’s destination, Jing Shanshan revealed a Clear Sky Hammer, prompting Yu Xiaogang to mistake him for a promising Twin Martial Soul student and try to recruit him.

  • Qian Daoliu gave Jing Shanshan a token that let him draw funds from local Spirit Hall branches, while She Long questioned why he was allowed to leave.
  • Jing Shanshan reached Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy and learned Yu Xiaogang had resigned and gone to Shrek Academy in Shrek Village, Suotuo City.
  • On the road, Jing Shanshan saw Yu Xiaogang use his pig-like Beast Martial Soul to drive off robbers attacking a merchant caravan.
  • Yu Xiaogang dismissed Jing Shanshan, so Jing Shanshan summoned a Clear Sky Hammer from the Gate of Babylon.
  • Yu Xiaogang assumed Jing Shanshan had Twin Martial Souls and boasted that only he could guide his cultivation, while Jing Shanshan watched him with an ambiguous smile.

Ch. 32Yu Xiaogang, Is That What You Truly Think Deep Down? Is This Your Hidden Pleasure?

Jing Shanshan tested Yu Xiaogang’s knowledge, exposed the limits of his theories, and defeated him with Luo Sanpao’s own attack. He then challenged Yu Xiaogang to confront whether his desire to prove himself was really the deepest motive behind his work.

  • Yu Xiaogang told Jing Shanshan that there were no trash Martial Souls, only trash Soul Masters, and invited him to study under him.
  • Jing Shanshan asked why a Soul Ring might shatter after being absorbed, and Yu Xiaogang failed to give a convincing answer.
  • Jing Shanshan mocked Yu Xiaogang’s title as a theoretical Grandmaster, prompting Yu Xiaogang to summon Luo Sanpao and attack.
  • A gust blew Luo Sanpao’s yellow smoke back toward Yu Xiaogang, while Jing Shanshan’s gravity forced him to his knees; the smoke left him dazed and helpless.
  • Jing Shanshan healed Yu Xiaogang enough to keep him conscious and suggested that his wish to prove himself came from being scorned for his low talent.
  • Yu Xiaogang insisted that he wanted others to know he was not trash, but Jing Shanshan urged him to ask whether he secretly hated geniuses and craved their respect.

Ch. 33Yu Xiaogang's Pleasure: This Child's Talent Was Truly Terrifying!

Jing Shanshan challenged Yu Xiaogang’s motives for teaching talented disciples, then traveled to Shrek Academy. There, the academy’s elder recognized Jing Shanshan’s extraordinary Soul Power and sent him directly to the fourth assessment.

  • Jing Shanshan accused Yu Xiaogang of seeking the satisfaction of having powerful geniuses call him Master, leaving Yu Xiaogang shaken and alone on the road to Shrek Academy.
  • Qian Renxue worried that Jing Shanshan’s words might change Yu Xiaogang’s influence on Tang San.
  • Jing Shanshan reached Shrek Academy and saw villagers protesting its refusal to refund registration fees.
  • The white-bearded elder subdued the protesting villagers with his Soul Emperor pressure and noticed that Jing Shanshan remained standing.
  • The elder sensed Jing Shanshan’s Soul Power Level of sixteen, judged him a promising talent, and called Lu Qibin to take him to the fourth assessment.

Ch. 34You have no right to make choices for this king

Jing Shanshan arrived at Shrek Academy’s fourth trial and watched Tang San face Zhao Wuji, while Zhao Wuji tried to recruit him. As Tang San’s hidden weapons failed to penetrate Zhao Wuji’s defenses, he brought out a golden object that pierced them.

  • Lu Qibin brought Jing Shanshan to the fourth trial, where Zhao Wuji was testing Tang San.
  • Zhao Wuji sensed Jing Shanshan’s exceptional Soul Power and considered recruiting him, but felt an ominous chill when he met the black cat’s gaze.
  • Zhao Wuji said Tang San’s performance would determine whether his companions passed, and Jing Shanshan objected to having his own choice made for him.
  • Jing Shanshan tacitly accepted Zhao Wuji’s separate assessment and sat down to watch Tang San fight.
  • Tang San used ghostly footwork and a stream of hidden weapons against Zhao Wuji, then brought out a golden object that pierced Zhao Wuji’s protective Soul Power.

Ch. 35The Golden Needle: This Blond Kid Had to Die!

Jing Shanshan realized that Tang San’s golden needles had been recorded in the Gate of Babylon, then prepared to face Zhao Wuji while his black cat stood guard. Tang San grew hostile toward Jing Shanshan after Xiao Wu reacted fearfully to the cat, and Zhao Wuji approached to begin their fight.

  • Jing Shanshan deduced that Tang San’s golden needles were new prototypes and discovered that the Gate of Babylon had stored at least a third of them.
  • Jing Shanshan asked Qian Renxue to help him test something later after learning she had cultivated while in Heaven Dou City.
  • Zhao Wuji challenged Jing Shanshan, who remained seated on his golden chair and insulted Zhao Wuji for refusing to recover first.
  • Xiao Wuji told Tang San that Jing Shanshan’s black cat had reminded her of something terrifying, and Tang San decided the blond kid had to die.
  • Ning Rongrong admired Jing Shanshan’s well-behaved cat, while Zhu Zhuqing noted it had stayed calm during Tang San and Zhao Wuji’s fight.
  • The black cat jumped from Jing Shanshan’s arms to threaten Zhao Wuji, and Jing Shanshan told it to be careful not to kill him.

Ch. 36Terrifying, an Instant Defeat, a Pet?! Your Legs Seem to Have Been Shaking All Along

Jing Shanshan’s Dark Demon Evil God Tiger transformed and defeated Zhao Wuji with one strike, then shrank back into a pet at Jing Shanshan’s call. Jing Shanshan faced Tang San, who was shielding Xiao Wu, and taunted him for trembling.

  • Zhao Wuji transformed with his Martial Soul Avatar and prepared to hold off the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger while Lu Qibin urged the students to run.
  • The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger struck Zhao Wuji, broke his Martial Soul Avatar, and left him badly wounded.
  • Jing Shanshan called the tiger Little Black, and its collar glowed as it shrank back into a docile black cat.
  • Tang San shielded the trembling Xiao Wu as Jing Shanshan looked at him and remarked that Tang San’s legs seemed to have been shaking all along.

Ch. 37Respect for the King, Ning Rongrong Leaves

Jing Shanshan punished Tang San for disrespecting him, then refused to join Shrek Academy and left for Spirit Hall Academy. Ning Rongrong followed his lead and left Shrek, while Zhu Zhuqing began considering whether to stay.

  • Tang San challenged Jing Shanshan, who struck him with swords that wounded him without hitting vital spots.
  • Jing Shanshan said Tang San’s injuries were punishment for failing to show a king proper respect, then left despite Lu Qibin’s attempts to stop him.
  • Jing Shanshan declared that Spirit Hall Academy was better than Shrek Academy and continued on his way.
  • Ning Rongrong said Shrek Academy was ordinary and left, saying her Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect background gave her other options.
  • Lu Qibin noticed Zhu Zhuqing thoughtfully weighing whether to remain at Shrek Academy.

Ch. 38Ning Rongrong Sets Her Sights on Spirit City; This King Only Wanted to See How Tough Tang's Life Was

Zhu Zhuqing stayed at Shrek Academy while Ning Rongrong followed her treasure-sensing intuition toward Spirit City in pursuit of the blond boy. Jing Shanshan and Qian Renxue escaped Tang Hao’s surprise attack, then turned to face him so Jing Shanshan could see the Great Sumeru Hammer.

  • Zhu Zhuqing silently rejected Dai Mubai’s attention and went deeper into Shrek Academy, prompting Dai Mubai to follow her.
  • Ning Rongrong recalled how her treasure-sensing intuition led her to Tang San and then the blond boy, whom she pursued toward Spirit City.
  • Jing Shanshan sensed Tang Hao’s arrival, and the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger carried him and Qian Renxue away as Tang Hao’s hammer struck their former position.
  • Qian Renxue identified the attacker as Clear Sky Douluo Tang Hao and explained his connection to the Clear Sky Sect and the Great Sumeru Hammer.
  • Jing Shanshan chose to face Tang Hao and witness the Great Sumeru Hammer, while the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger dodged another attack.

Ch. 39Tang Hao vs. the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger: An Idiot

Tang Hao confronted Jing Shanshan and the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, but the tiger’s buffs and speed let it overpower him before its erratic tactics gave Tang Hao an opening. As the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger began harrying him from a distance, Tang Hao shifted his attention to Jing Shanshan and Qian Renxue stepped in front of him.

  • Tang Hao’s Clear Sky Hammer clashed with the buffed Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, which knocked the hammer aside and then sent Tang Hao flying with a sudden charge.
  • Tang Hao recovered and fought the tiger at close range, forcing it to dodge and smashing apart several of its light blades.
  • Jing Shanshan stopped directing the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, which switched to retreating and attacking Tang Hao from a distance.
  • Qian Renxue recognized that the tiger’s ineffective choices came from having become an idiot, then moved in front of Jing Shanshan when Tang Hao changed targets.

Ch. 40All Flash, Suppressed

Jing Shanshan let Tang Hao approach despite Qian Renxue's warnings, confident in the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's hidden trump card and using his own abilities to test Tang Hao. The chapter ended with Jing Shanshan's shackle suppressing Tang Hao and stopping his attack.

  • Tang Hao charged toward Jing Shanshan while the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger tried unsuccessfully to slow him down.
  • Qian Renxue urged Jing Shanshan to retreat, but he said Little Black could threaten even her grandfather and admitted he was preventing it from using its trump card.
  • Jing Shanshan filled the area around Tang Hao with golden ripples that launched blades and swords, but Tang Hao shrugged off the attacks and called them all flash.
  • Tang Hao felt Jing Shanshan manipulate gravity, decided the blond child had to die, and raised the Clear Sky Hammer to strike him.
  • Qian Renxue rushed to stop Tang Hao but became immobilized, while a shackle from the golden ripples locked around Tang Hao's wrist and instantly suppressed his Soul Power.

Ch. 41They Were All Martial Souls?! Ring Detonation, Blood

Jing Shanshan and the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger forced Tang Hao into a desperate fight, and Tang Hao unleashed his Clear Sky Hammer’s Ring Detonation before retreating. Afterward, Jing Shanshan collected Tang Hao’s blood and resolved to investigate his technique.

  • Jing Shanshan weakened Tang Hao with his Martial Souls and struck him with an enhanced Clear Sky Hammer, mangling his right hand.
  • The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger wounded Tang Hao with blades of light, while Tang Hao used his ninth Soul Ring to expel the Evil Qi and heal.
  • Tang Hao activated Clear Sky True Body and detonated his first six Soul Rings to prepare a devastating attack on Jing Shanshan.
  • The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger sent a black hole at Tang Hao, forcing him to redirect his hammer; after the black hole dissipated, Tang Hao left.
  • Jing Shanshan decided to search Spirit Hall's central library for information about Ring Detonation and had the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger retrieve Tang Hao's blood.

Ch. 42Storing Soul Power, Building a Faction, and the Tournament

Jing Shanshan discovered that his cylinder could store Soul Power supplied by others, prompting him to consider building a faction. After enrolling at Spirit Hall Academy, he learned about the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament and left to research the cylinder in the central library.

  • Jing Shanshan found an attachment that let other Soul Masters convert their Soul Power into pure energy for the cylinder, and he considered establishing a faction to recruit subordinates.
  • Jing Shanshan's parents sent him to Spirit Hall Academy after completing his enrollment, where Hu Liena, Yan, and Xie Yue gave him a brief tour.
