As the tournament began, Bibi Dong revealed the trail to a Tyrant Dragon, and Xu Zi prepared his team to face Skywater Academy.

• Xu Zi revealed his Purple Brilliant Heaven Destroying Dragon to Spirit Hall, gave Bibi Dong the Soul Core Method, and received a Pope Token and a Dragon Scale Fruit.
• Xu Zi accepted Bibi Dong’s challenge to face Huang Ying, injured her with his destructive will, and joined the Spirit Hall Team as a substitute.
• Xu Zi fed a Golden Crocodile the Dragon Scale Fruit, transformed it into a Dark Golden Crocodile Dragon, and absorbed its four-thousand-year Soul Ring and bloodline power.

Xu Zi led Spirit Hall’s Second Team through victories over Skywater Academy and the Heaven Thunder Team, then faced the Wind Fire Team in the semifinals. After draining the team’s fire and Soul Power, he prepared a dragon attack against Feng Xiaotian’s newly empowered fusion skill.

• Xu Zi countered Skywater Academy’s ice attacks with his Purple Sun, defeated Shui Bing’er and Xue Wu’s Ice Phoenix, and led Spirit Hall’s Second Team to victory.
• Xu Zi reunited with Huang Ying, learned the tournament schedule had changed, and arranged for his team to face the Heaven Thunder Team.
• Xu Zi’s dragon transformation overcame the Heaven Thunder Team’s attacks, and he defeated Yu Tianxin and Yu Tianheng to win the match.
• Xu Zi learned that his Purple Brilliant Heaven Destroying Dragon had mutated, advised Yu Tianxin about his own mutation, and studied the Wind Fire Team’s roster and the semifinal matchups.
• Xu Zi led Spirit Hall’s Second Team against the Wind Fire Team and absorbed Huo Lie and Huo Yun’s fire-attribute Soul Power, expanding his Purple Sun over the arena.

Xu Zi advanced through the tournament while revealing his origins and gaining a powerful Tyrant Dragon Soul Ring. In the deciding match against Shrek, Xu Zi and Tang San exhausted themselves to a draw, and both were carried away unconscious.

• Xu Zi defeated Feng Xiaotian with the Purple Sun, then absorbed a Golden Crocodile and left the Wind Fire Team after securing his place in the finals.
• Bibi Dong gave Xu Zi the Tool-Beast Conversion secret technique and a ten-thousand-year Tyrant Dragon Soul Ring, which Xu Zi absorbed to reach level 43.

Xu Zi strengthened his dragon Martial Soul, rejected Bibi Dong’s plan to merge his Second Team with the Golden Generation, and led a new Spirit Hall lineup against Shrek. After securing a one-on-one duel with Tang San, Xu Zi left the outcome—and their promised stakes—unresolved.

• After Shrek defeated the Spirit Hall First Team, Bibi Dong proposed merging the Golden Generation into Xu Zi’s Second Team, but Xu Zi refused and defeated Hu Liena, Xie Yue, and Yan in a spar.
• Bibi Dong made Xu Zi’s Second Team the official Spirit Hall team, and Xu Zi invited Huang Ying to join before preparing for the final showdown.
