Across the open plain, Dragon Beast ice sculptures stood one after another in charging postures, stretching from the foot of the city wall into the distance. Not a single one had managed to get close to the wall.
Farther away, even more Dragon Beasts were prowling, but after sensing the might of the Frost Elemental Lord, they chose to retreat, turning around one after another and vanishing from sight.
Amid the soldiers' cheers, Inanna recalled Little Ice, returned to her residence, and followed the sensation until she found Cave Four.
"Strange, Little Four." She walked over and bent down to look at the round, plump fungal body curled up in the sunlight. "It's rare for Dragon Beasts to attack, but you actually didn't go up to the wall. What's wrong?"
As she spoke, Inanna picked up Cave Four, and immediately noticed that Cave Four was vibrating in her arms at an extremely small amplitude and high frequency, making her palms feel a little numb.
"What's going on?" She held Cave Four up before her eyes and examined it carefully. "Are you... sick?"
Cave Four's thoughts came through in fits and starts, as if something were interfering with them, each word popping out one by one: "No... it's just... the Fungal Lord seems... a little excited..."
"The Fungal Lord? Excited?" Inanna tilted her head in confusion.
At the same time, twelve, who was preaching; Number Ten, who was immersed in exploring the essence of magic; Number Nine, who was tearfully complaining to Fifteen about the blood pool; and the seventy-three members of the Mushroom Race helping Little Black grind her teeth all felt, in that same instant, the tremor from the root of their souls.
