Background / History

Inanna is the daughter of Duke Alama, also referred to as Duke Amara. After being betrayed by two traitors, she is transformed into a Puji and falls into the Mushroom Garden of the Amethyst Dungeon. There, she meets Lin Jun—later known as Linden—the Mushroom Lord. Though terrified at first, she accepts his help, learns to use magic crystals to compensate for her Puji body's inability to cast normally, and forms a tentative alliance with him. 2 4

A rescue party sent by her father eventually locates her through her Tracking Mark and returns her to the surface for a reversal ritual. After returning, Inanna secretly keeps a tiny pink mushroom cap growing in her hair and conceals both it and her Dungeon experiences from her household. 13 21

She later reconnects with Linden through the Mycelium Network and becomes increasingly involved with the Mushroom Race. She receives Pujis from Linden, learns to command them, claims authority over the Fungal Carpet on Saint Clair land, and develops into a prominent Puji Master. 204 252 529

During the war, Inanna leads Puji forces to support her father and the Kingdom. Her elemental affinity reveals itself to be capable of attracting and influencing Storm, Fire, Frost, and other Elemental Spirits. Personality

Inanna begins as frightened, suspicious, and overwhelmed by her transformation and the Dungeon. Lin Jun's aid gradually earns her trust, and her interest in magic crystals and spellcasting quickly becomes apparent. 2 4 5

She is affectionate and protective toward Pujis, treating them as companions rather than tools. She strongly disapproves of “Puji Masters” who exploit Pujis solely to gain power, and personally cares for and washes the Pujis under her protection. 247 322

Although initially inexperienced in war and easily frightened in direct danger, Inanna becomes more decisive and independent. She scouts the Elemental Turbulence Zone herself, assumes command of surviving troops after a disastrous battle, and insists on joining the reinforcement force despite her father's objections. 459 473 496

Her compassion extends to Elemental Spirits. She refuses to have docile Fire Elementals killed merely because they gathered around her, instead leading them back into the Molten Dungeon. 601
