Faced with this sudden change, everyone was utterly bewildered.
One second, they had been cheering for the revival of the holy sword. The next, a massive hole had been punched through the sky. The innocent onlookers could only watch as the seal over the black cavity was torn open and a terrifying demon god, something beyond this world, stepped out of hell.
Would nukes even work against a monster like that?
No one knew.
Countless people looked at one another. Once they came to their senses, they were so angry they nearly started cursing.
Sword in the Stone, you jinxed piece of crap.
You fucking deserved to be snapped in half!!
"Being human has no future..."
A muscular blond hunk muttered to himself.
Beside him, the miserable-looking crowd nodded in agreement.
--
Over the Pacific Ocean.
In just a few breaths, the terrifying demon god let out a savage shriek. Its enormous hands seemed to blot out the sky as it pressed against the seawater and hauled more than half its body out. Thick, venomous corpse water seeped from its pores.
In an instant, it dyed a thousand miles of ocean into an ink-green sea of death. Fish of countless species rolled onto their backs, spat bubbles, and died with ease.
The Sword in the Stone trembled lightly. Its white holy radiance dimmed, as though it had begun to panic.
With remarkable awareness, it knew it had caused trouble. Panicking, it tried to fly toward Japan, like a naughty child who had done something wrong and wanted to hide behind their parents.
It made everyone curse.
What the hell were you doing earlier?
"Splash~."
The seawater surged into towering waves as a pair of enormous misty hands struck out, equally capable of blotting out the sky.
Unlike the colossal demon god, the owner of those misty hands appeared to be trying to seize the holy sword.
The three sides descended into chaos.
It was hard to tell how the battle would unfold.
"What are those misty hands...?!"
In Tokyo, someone cried out in shock, left wide-eyed and dumbfounded.
"That is one of Kayn Juran Balada's abilities: mistification."
From the shadows in a corner, the great yokai Nura Hyō emerged with a grave expression, leaning on his cane.
Having kept watch over the battle the entire time, he finally could no longer sit still.
The young man who had cried out could not help asking, "Sir, what is that?!"
Nura Hyō sighed. "He is Europe's First Progenitor and the ruler of the Empire of Night. He must have acted so brazenly because he does not want the natural enemy of the vampire race to come into being."
"What?!"
Everyone froze. They lived in a bright, glamorous world and had never heard of any First Progenitor.
Vampires had been nothing more than legends.
Yet now, legends had become reality?!
Wait...
If Kayn Juran Balada took the holy sword away, would there be no natural enemy left in the future?
The Sword in the Stone might be a troublemaker, but it was still a Divine Artifact on humanity's side. If it were truly lost, that would be a devastating loss.
Everyone's teeth ached.
Then they stared tensely at the television, unwilling to look away even for a moment.
--
Over the Pacific Ocean, the holy sword trembled as it continued to struggle. Yet without a master to wield it, it could not break free. The massive misty hand held it down firmly, its snow-white radiance growing dimmer as it wailed without cease.
The Sword in the Stone was about to collapse.
Countless people around the world could not help covering their eyes, unable to bear watching this tragic sight any longer.
"If Artoria were here, she would definitely take hold of it and slay the powerful enemy."
Saber's diehard fans said bitterly.
Even more people merely sighed in silence.
It seemed there was no way to turn the tide.
The misty hand trembled as well, as though it could barely suppress its excitement.
It had succeeded...
It was about to succeed...
"Splash~."
A strange sound arose.
At some point, beneath the confused gazes of the crowd, delicate crystalline petals had covered the battlefield.
They adorned the skies above the Pacific with scattered fallen blossoms, dreamlike in their beauty.
The petals continued to gather,
And gather.
They formed a pink sea of flowers that stretched beyond sight, flowing with a soft halo. Untainted by the slightest filth, it was ethereal and pure, carrying an ancient aura known as "hope."
Then, beneath the wary gazes of all sides, an incomparably magnificent staff tore through the sky.
"Roar!"
Accompanied by a miserable howl, the misty hands clutching the holy sword were effortlessly severed.
A moment later.
A gentle, refined voice rang out.
"Taking other people's things without permission is very rude, you know~."
Under everyone's immensely awkward gazes, the beautiful sea of flowers quietly parted.
A handsome man with cascading silver hair emerged from within. He wore a white cloak and held a staff, a refined and elegant smile upon his face.
Mysterious, composed, elegant, confident...
Under Kayn Juran Balada's deeply wary gaze, he finally stopped. He glanced at the dim holy sword that seemed to be weeping, then suddenly smiled with delight.
Merlin, the Magus of Flowers, had arrived!
PS: Thoughts on going premium; although my updates are terrible and I like padding chapters, I still hope for good subscriptions. Please send flowers, monthly votes, and recommendation votes!
Oh, and I have no backlog. You could probably tell from my two daily chapters...
Ahem, although I will not spam updates after going premium, my free period was longer than other people's!
I did not stuff content into the work-related section, and I did not reverse-lock chapters. I went premium at around 138,000 words.
There are about 20,000 more free words than other people offer!
I am a conscientious author, qwq.
And then.
Merlin is the protagonist's first Heroic Spirit persona in reality.
This time... the Divine Authority Jade will be burned dry, but being cool is all that matters!
Demon God Dies Violently, Ascends into the Sky and Becomes the Moon, Leaving the World Speechless!!
The entire world
Fell silent.
Many people on Earth stared blankly at the scene, as though someone had seized them by the throat.
That familiar figure...
Oh my God!
Wasn't that Merlin from the Glastonbury illusion?
How the hell did you come out?
No...
How did you get from a Parallel World into our world?!
Countless Westerners with blond hair, blue eyes, green eyes, red eyes, and every other kind of appearance went hysterical. So shocked they could not believe it, they rubbed their eyes and roared soundlessly in their hearts.
This was too absurd!!
On Europe's infamous "Lolita Island," Hawking's eyes widened. His jaw dropped as he trembled and rose from atop a green-haired loli, even briefly overcoming his ALS.
The arrival of theology was no less impactful to scientists than a meteor striking Earth.
He did not even have time to pull up his pants before his trembling fingers put on his reading glasses.
He had to witness it with his own eyes...
This world-shaking moment.
Perhaps human history would be split in two from this very night onward, opening a magnificent new chapter!
Yamadera Station, Japan.
Ampei, who had been giving a speech, was dumbfounded as well.
Come on, man, you took everyone's attention away. What am I supposed to talk about now?
He cursed inwardly, yet he could not stop himself from holding his breath as he watched tensely. Could King Arthur's legendary court mage truly stand against the peerless enemy over the Pacific?
And could humanity achieve the final victory?
It was no wonder he was so nervous.
After all, that savage demon god happened to be very close to Japan.
What if it swam over here...
Hiss~
The image was too beautiful to imagine.
The security guards' attention was also diverted as they stared in shock at the live television broadcast.
Suddenly.
A beautiful high school girl in a sailor uniform was tripped in confusion and fell to the ground.
A man wearing a white mask, with resolute eyes, quietly lowered his clapping hands and secretly pulled out a shotgun.
Akameri research laboratory.
Computer geniuses from all walks of life had gathered together.
They anxiously tracked down the person on Twitter with the username Merlin.
That person had written Steel Land and Moon Coral, and was far too mysterious. The president had personally ordered them to find his IP address.
Perhaps the other party really was Merlin, the great mage. He might even be connected to the Heavenly Curtain!
Suddenly.
