West Borough, Green Park Street.

Klein, with a light mustache around his mouth, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, carrying a top hat and a black cane, followed Logo Lago Calman into the spacious and bright living room.

A huge crystal chandelier hangs from the ceiling, while the walls, corners, and tabletops are decorated with various golden reliefs and ornaments, making the whole place look magnificent, exquisite, and luxurious.

"No wonder he's a jeweler, a jeweler living in the West Borough..." Klein glanced at the oil paintings next to him and sighed to himself.

With each step Lago took, his fat jiggled, making people maliciously speculate when his clothes and pants would rip.

But clearly, as a jewelry merchant, he had enough money to buy the best quality clothing.

" Detective Moriarty, this is my son Adol." Lago stopped at the edge of the carpet and pointed to the fifteen or sixteen-year-old boy sitting on the armchair.

Because every fireplace in the house was lit and heat was being transferred through metal pipes, the living room was quite warm, making Klein want to take off all but a shirt and trousers. However, the boy was wrapped in a thick fur coat and had a warm-looking blanket over his legs.

At this moment, he was bowing his head, hugging himself tightly, trembling uncontrollably, and his dark blue hair seemed to have lost its luster.

Lago glanced at him worriedly and whispered:

" Adol, this is Detective Moriarty, who will be protecting you for the next two days."

Upon hearing this, Adol raised his head, revealing a pale face, bluish lips, and unfocused eyes.

"Protect me, protect me... They're going to kill me! They're going to kill me!" His voice grew shriller and shriller until finally he covered his ears with his hands and screamed.

It took him several seconds to gradually calm down.

During this process, Klein had already tapped his teeth and quietly activated his Spirit Vision.

Hmm... He suppressed the surprise that was about to burst out, and examined it carefully again.

He saw that Adol's aura had taken on a deep blackish-green hue!

This is a sign that the person is haunted or even possessed by Wraith Specter!

Adol's bad friends are already taking revenge on him... or perhaps there are no bad friends at all, he's encountered Wraith and is hallucinating... Klein quietly reached out and grasped Mr. Azik's brass whistle, and Spirituality emanated from it. Then, he thoughtfully shifted his gaze to the others in the living room.

Near the bay window stood a man in a black coat. He was tall and burly, with a stern expression, and his waist was bulging as if he were concealing a pistol.

This must be one of the six security personnel... Just as Klein was about to look at the others, Lago Calman introduced them:

" Detective Kaslana, and her assistant Lydia."

" Detective Stuart."

At this point, Lago turned halfway around and pointed at Klein, saying:

"This is Detective Sherlock Moriarty."

Kaslana, in her thirties, with black hair, Blue Eyes, and thick eyebrows, seemed to be a pretty woman when she was young, but now, due to issues such as slightly sagging cheek muscles, she appears somewhat unapproachable.

Her assistant Lydia, was a red-haired woman in her early twenties with a great figure, though her looks were rather average.

Both women were dressed in clothing similar to that of aristocratic equestrians: fitted white shirts paired with close-fitting trousers for ease of movement, distinguished from men only by pleats at the collar and cuffs.

Furthermore, they made no attempt to conceal it, carrying two revolvers on their waists.

This reminded Klein of a statement made by Lawyer Jurgen: for private Detective, illegal possession of firearms is an easy case to solve. Given the difficulty of obtaining a full range of weapons licenses, it's very difficult for anyone who isn't an aristocrat, a member of parliament, or a high-ranking government employee to obtain one.

Stuart sat opposite Kaslana and Lydia. His face was thin, but he had a large beard, and his light green eyes were unusually bright.

He and Lydia should be around the same age, and his height is similar to Klein's, a little over 1.7 meters tall, and he weighs around 140 pounds.

Stuart had a gun holster under his arm, which contained a revolver that was clearly specially made.

After exchanging polite greetings, Klein took off his coat and hat, handing them to the maid beside him:

"Place it where I can get it quickly; there are some important items inside."

In fact, he had already moved the paper figures, notes, talismans, matchboxes, etc. into his trouser pockets. Inside his coat, he only had herbal powder, hydrosol essence, wallet and keys, and the £206 banknotes in his wallet.

Stuart sat there, glanced at Klein a few times, and chuckled:

You didn't bring a gun?

"A gun? This is my gun." Klein smiled and raised his cane.

At the same time, he puffed out his cheeks and imitated pronunciation.

Bang!

A gunshot rang out suddenly. Without thinking, Stuart rolled forward, while Kaslana and Lydia quickly got off the sofa and found places to hide.

Lago and the servant beside him were both surprised and bewildered, not understanding what had happened. Adol remained with his head down, trembling.

Once they saw that Klein was only holding a black cane and realized that nothing had happened, Kaslana and the others regained their composure and asked with frowns:

What just happened?

"Ever since I turned in a handgun I found, I've been learning how to mimic voices, and it seems to be working pretty well," Klein replied half-jokingly.

"This is not a funny matter, Detective Moriarty," Kaslana said in a low voice.

"I just wanted to perform some magic for you..." Klein muttered, handing the cane to the maid and nodding solemnly.

"I'll be careful."

Stuart had been the most disheveled just moments before, showed no anger. He patted his clothes with interest, stood up, and asked:

"Mr. Moriarty, I've never heard of you before. I mean, I know quite a few people in the Detective business, but I didn't know you before."

"I only arrived in Backlund in early September," Klein explained briefly.

"I see..." Stuart chuckled. "Tonight, we'll work in pairs, from midnight until tomorrow morning. Is that alright?"

"No," Klein replied with the same smile.

"Okay, after dinner you can go and rest, then take turns at dawn," Kaslana added from the side.

Klein gave Adol, who was trembling with his head down, a deep look, and nodded seriously.

Nothing happened all afternoon, and the worried couple prepared a sumptuous dinner for the Detective and security personnel, but without alcoholic beverages.

After having eaten and drunk their fill, Klein and Stuart, a young man with a thick beard, walked together toward their second-floor guest room.

Seeing that no one was around, Stuart shook his head and said:

" Sherlock, you should have already seen it. Adol's problem isn't that someone wants revenge against him."

"Hey bro, you're pretty outgoing..." Klein asked back without changing his expression.

How so?

"He looks like he's mentally unstable, or, as the countryside would say, possessed by a ghost or evil spirit. To be honest, I'm terrified of this," Stuart sighed. "Mr. Calman should take him to see Psychiatrist, and if that doesn't work, find the priests of the Lord of Storms and have them sprinkle holy water and perform a ritual!"

"You can make that suggestion to him," Klein said succinctly.

"If Adol hasn't improved by then, I'll consider it." Stuart glanced at Klein.

Klein smiled and said:

"That's your business. I'll close this case tomorrow."

At this point, the two arrived at their destination and went into their respective rooms.

1 a. m., in Adol's bedroom.

Klein sat in his rocking chair, holding the Azik Copper Whistle, quietly watching the person he was Protector, while Stuart drank coffee at his desk.

The two remained silent, afraid of waking Adol, who had finally managed to fall asleep.

Time ticked by, and suddenly a chill swept through the room.

Adol sat up abruptly and opened his eyes.

"What's wrong?" Stuart asked, slightly nervously.

"Go to the restroom..." Adol replied in a low, ethereal voice.

His face seemed even paler, and his lips turned increasingly bluish-purple.

Just as Stuart was about to speak, he saw Sherlock Moriarty stand up and nod to him, saying:

"I'll follow him."

"Good." Stuart secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Klein, hands in his pockets, walked a step behind Adol, following him to the door of the washroom outside the two rooms.

Just as Adol was about to close the door, he suddenly saw a figure flash in.

"I can't let you out of my sight. Ha, do what you need to do, pretend I don't exist." Klein chuckled as he leaned against the wall.

Adol remained silent, his unfocused gaze sweeping across the room before settling on the bathroom mirror.

He turned on the tap and let the water flow freely.

At that moment, Klein took out a box of matches, lit one with a flick of his wrist, and seemed to want to smoke.

However, he did not do that; instead, he blew lightly on the match to extinguish it.

Snap!

Klein casually tossed the match aside and took out another item.

Adol had his back to him, suddenly straightened up, and the figure in the mirror was as pale as a corpse.

Whoosh! A cold wind howled in the washroom. Adol didn't move his waist or legs, but turned around and stared intently at Klein's left hand, at the exquisite bronze whistle that was being tossed and caught repeatedly.

Ugh!

A gust of cold wind suddenly blew towards Klein's face.

His smile remained unchanged, and he snapped his fingers.

Suddenly, a flame rose from the ground, igniting the invisible figure.

The figure struggled for only a couple of moments before vanishing completely, and the flames went out.

Klein put away the Azik Copper Whistle in his hand and looked calmly at Adol, whose eyes were gradually focusing.

Adol seemed to have been having a long nightmare, and now he finally woke up.

He glanced blankly at a young man a few steps away, wearing a white shirt, dark trousers, and gold-rimmed glasses, leaning against the wall with a smile.

Then he heard a gentle voice:

What exactly happened to you?
