Snap!
Gillschies simply turned slightly to the side, and the beer glass landed on the round table next to him, making a mess.
As the gunshot rang out, he didn't try to dodge at all, as if he had intuitively seen through the Illusion. Amidst the chaos of drunkards and gamblers crouching down and covering their heads or scattering and running away, his body leaped up as if equipped with a spring, his gaze locking onto the cool-looking adventurer in a top hat and tuxedo at the entrance.
Gehrman Sparrow ... Gillschies's pupils contracted, his mouth opened, and he was about to utter the " Words of Filth " originating from the Abyss.
Just then, Klein pulled the trigger, and a pale gold bullet, seemingly just pulled from hot water, shot out, heading precisely for the " Slaughterer," whose bounty was a hefty 95 pounds.
However, Gillschies simply raised his right hand, spread his five fingers, and a pale blue flame ignited in his palm, thus unbelievably catching the bullet.
The bullet was instantly trapped in its "cage," solidifying in the pale blue flames; the sunlight that followed could barely offset it all.
Beside Gillschies, two figures stood up one after the other: a short-haired woman holding two pistols and a burly man wearing boxing gloves.
Clearly, he came to Toscarter Port in search of supplies, not alone, or rather, he must have some business partners he knows here!
Three Beyonder... Gillschies might even be Sequence 5... At this moment, Klein almost blurted out something like "Sorry to bother you."
Attacking the " Devil " cannot be planned in advance; it must rely on chance encounters, and there can be no hesitation whatsoever, otherwise the other party will immediately sense the malice and danger.
However, in this situation, it's really hard to say who has the better chance of winning!
Without hesitation, Klein turned around, grabbed his revolver, and nimbly and quickly dashed through the crowd in the bar, over the heads of the squatting drunken gamblers, to the stairwell leading to the second floor of the bar.
He had just slipped inside when a pale blue fireball slammed into the edge of the stairs and instantly expanded and exploded.
Boom!
The bottom half of the staircase collapsed, causing the entire bar to shake and releasing a strong smell of sulfur.
Without hesitation, Gillschies and his two accomplices leaped over the bottom of the stairs and frantically chased after Gehrman Sparrow.
Thump thump thump!
Klein sprinted to the second floor, quickly initiating an investigation of the " Spirit Body Threads " along the way.
This allowed him to easily find a spacious room devoid of human presence. With a twist of his waist and a step, he was about to turn and enter, then leap out of the window to escape the bar.
At this moment, Gillschies and his two companions also caught up to the second floor. Upon seeing this scene, they immediately separated in tacit agreement. Gilchrist continued the chase, while the other two entered another room on the same side to intercept the pursuers below.
And this was the opportunity Klein had been waiting for!
He suddenly turned halfway around, his left hand, gloved in all black, grasping at the air and twisting it slightly.
The woman with dual pistols and the burly man in boxing gloves continued their actions without noticing anything amiss. They rushed into another room, jumped out of a window, and Lu Yuan without looking back.
Their purpose and actions of "intercepting separately" Tampering by Klein through the " Distortion of the Baron of Corruption " into "acting separately"!
This won't last long, but it does give Klein a brief one-on-one opportunity!
With a thud, having completed his " Distortion " motion, he fell to the ground and rolled into the house, avoiding the series of pale blue fireballs fired by Gillschies.
The rumbling sounds continued, and the building housing the bar swayed violently, as if it had been hit by an earthquake.
Immediately afterward, Gillschies pounced forward and chased into the rather spacious room.
Seeing Gehrman Sparrow skillfully tumbling and leaping, avoiding direct confrontation, and displaying remarkable emotional control, the " Slaughterer " immediately opened his mouth and uttered a filthy word in his unique Devil Language:
"Slow!"
Everything in the room seemed to freeze for a moment; Klein's rolling movements noticeably slowed down and became less fluid.
Gillschies locked onto his target without hesitation and responded with another Devil Language word:
"Die!"
Klein's figure froze, suspended in place, then faded and thinned, turning into a paper figure covered in mottled red rust.
At the same time, he appeared by the door, wearing a top silk hat and a black double-breasted suit. He reached out his left hand, which was covered by an eerie black glove, grasped the handle, and pulled the rickety door inward, closing it securely.
Clang!
The noise outside disappeared, and the room seemed to isolate itself, becoming a sturdy cage.
Upon seeing this, Gillschies suddenly swelled up, tearing his clothes inch by inch.
He instantly transformed into a colossal creature nearly three meters tall, its skin appearing dull but actually a deep, sinister black. Goat horns curved and extended from its head, covered with countless mysterious patterns. A pair of giant, bat-like wings spread out from its back, wreathed in pale blue flames and emitting a strong sulfurous odor.
Whoosh whoosh!
A barrage of pale blue fireballs shot out like a volley of cannon fire, covering the area around the doorway. At the same time, Gillschies's eyes blazed crimson, and he uttered filthy Devil Language:
" Depravity!"
This is also an area-of-effect attack!
His eyes filled with pale blue light, and Klein clenched his left hand, which was clad in an eerie yet noble glove, and twisted it rapidly half a circle.
The fireballs instantly lost their trajectory, becoming as chaotic as the irregular motion of tiny particles.
They crashed into the ceiling, they struck the door, they fell to the ground, they flew backwards towards Gillschies. For a moment, the room was filled with continuous rumbling sounds. The sealing effect caused by the " Distortion " power was severely damaged and shaken, but there were still no obvious signs of destruction.
Pale blue flames rose, and the smell of sulfur filled the air. Suddenly, Klein's body bent over, his skin covered with a slightly viscous black liquid.
Bang!
His figure exploded, turning into shattered pieces of paper and a Depravity black mist.
Immediately afterwards, he appeared on the other side, his skin noticeably dull, and his clothes torn apart by the force of the explosion and the flames of the Abyss.
The area-of-effect " Depravity " effect somewhat restrained his " Paper Figurine Substitute," inevitably causing him to suffer some impact. Furthermore, the aftershocks of the explosion, which were beyond Klein's control, also caused him harm.
However, the moment they met, he "gifted" Gillschies a beer, effectively " Bribe " him and significantly weakening the attacks and control effects on him!
Gillschies clearly hadn't expected that Gehrman Sparrow wasn't severely affected by the " Depravity." He had just drawn a magnificent longsword made entirely of flames and hadn't even had a chance to unleash a frenzied attack combining speed and power when he saw the opponent's left glove transform into something resembling gold.
In Klein's eyes, two blinding bolts of lightning instantly shot out!
" Spirit Piercing!"
"Ah!"
Gillschies let out a bloodcurdling scream, as if a hundred bottles of holy water had been poured into his head.
With his rich combat experience, he knew that after his mental shock, he would definitely suffer a series of relentless blows. So his instincts turned into a black liquid, spreading towards the ground and around him.
These liquids, like a collection of the most wicked and shameful desires in people's hearts, swept through the room with a polluting force, surging towards Gehrman Sparrow.
That pose was absolutely perfect... In an encounter, both sides would be unprepared and lack sufficient understanding... Fortunately, I always remembered that when facing Beyonder was suspected of being an " Apostle of Desire," I had to completely suppress my desires and emotions... Klein did not dodge, and the glove on his left hand was quickly stained with pure, clear sunlight.
He spread his arms, letting a sacred pillar of light, wreathed in golden flames, descend and illuminate every corner and every shadow!
The beam of light struck the areas where the dark liquid was most concentrated, and then rippled outwards in all directions.
Within this bright and holy light, the pitch-black liquid evaporated rapidly, disappearing by more than half.
Gillschies hurriedly condensed his body, reforming it near the window.
He maintained his nearly three-meter-tall Devil form, his mind as calm as ever, but his intense bloodlust and killing desire made him somewhat unable to restrain himself.
At this moment, he had become somewhat weak and dared not continue to maneuver or wait for Gehrman Sparrow to experience emotional fluctuations so as to control his desires. Instead, he directly ignited the two curved, mysterious goat horns on his head, intending to forcefully attack the enemy's mind and inevitably cause him to experience certain emotions.
Once desires and emotions arise, the situation will be controlled by the " Apostle of Desire "!
Just then, Gillschies's mind suddenly went numb, and he almost lost the thought that had just formed in his mind!
After the two sides came within five meters, the reason why Klein was in a passive state and could barely hold on with the " Distortion " ability of " Paper Figurine Substitute " and " Baron of Corrosion " to buy time was because he was distracted by Manipulation Gillschies's " Spirit Body Threads "!
Given the spiritual strength of Sequence 5 " Slaughterer," he wouldn't have succeeded so quickly. However, the " Bribe " of that beer weakened Gillschies's defense and ability to fight back. Afterward, this " Apostle of Desire " suffered a " Spirit Piercing " and was deeply Purification by the " Holy Light," leaving him quite weak!
Therefore, even though Klein was distracted and used other abilities, he still managed to gain initial control of Gillschies in about 15 seconds.
The fierce battle in the room suddenly fell silent. Although Gillschies's thoughts had become sluggish, he was still able to carry out his actions and forcefully resist the control originating from the depths of his spirit.
His eyes, a deep crimson, reflected the image of Gehrman Sparrow. The curved ram's horns on his head began to burn intensely, as hatred, Greed, Wrath, and rage emanated outwards as if they were tangible.
Klein entered a semi- Cogitation state, calmly and attentively deepening his Manipulation, striving to render Gillschies incapable of resistance as quickly as possible.
