"Click-click-click," a blank sheet of paper appeared from the radio receiver, on which was written in Loen language:
"Great master, your loyal and humble servant Arrodes has finally, finally caught up with you again!"
"Don't get so worked up..." Hmm, " Magic Mirror " Arrodes's speaking skills were as professional as ever. He didn't express any "resentment" about not being able to contact me for so long, nor did he ask why I hadn't contacted it for so long. He directly blamed himself, thinking that he hadn't kept up with my pace... It made me feel a little guilty. However, I still had to be on guard... Klein didn't know how to respond for a moment.
Arrodes didn't wait. Using the radio receiver, he tapped away on the imaginary white paper, creating the sound of a cautious, peeking expression.
"Great Master, Ruler of the Spirit World, your servant senses that you are one step closer to returning to the Holy Throne, is that not it?"
This thing has evolved so fast, it's already progressed from using emoticons to creating the prototype of emojis... In Arrodes's perception, am I a true god who is gradually finding himself again? So, although it clearly knows that I am only Sequence 5 now, it still doesn't show any disrespect, but instead becomes even more humble? Klein understands that the " Magic Mirror " is deliberately asking a question, and calmly nods:
"Yes."
"You've answered my question. In exchange, as a rule I must follow, you can ask me a question," Arrodes typed quickly, ending with a smiley face.
Klein didn't hesitate and asked directly:
Where can I get the ' Bizarro Sorcerer ' Potion recipe?
The illusory white paper was suddenly extended a long way, covered with countless complex symbols, and then formed a mirror, presenting a real scene:
It was a deep, dark hall without any natural light, inside which was a huge, writhing thing, so blurry that it was like a pencil drawing erased by an eraser, with no specific details visible.
However, Arrodes, the " Magic Mirror," included a long text below this scene:
"This is Zaratul. He lost control during his ascension to Sequence 1, ' Attendant of Mysteries,' and turned into Monster. However, great master, be careful, for he is a very cunning fellow, and perhaps all of this is something he did on purpose."
"I cannot look Him in the eye; it would harm me. You cannot obtain Potion recipes from any Demigod in the Secret Order except Him, because Zaratul provided High-Sequence Potion directly, which is almost impossible to Divination through Beyonder Characteristic."
The answer was very detailed, and it even taught me that the Sequence 1 corresponding to the " Seer " path is " Attendant of Mysteries "... Does that mean serving a Mysteries Angel? It seems that the only way to obtain the Potion Zaratul on the path of the Secret Order is to confront Zarathustra directly, and I can't even look directly at Him... No wonder " Snake of Fate " Will Auceptin only mentioned finding the insane Zaratul, without mentioning the Secret Order... Klein was actually moved by the attitude of " Magic Mirror " Arrodes. If he didn't feel that he didn't yet have the rank and strength to control this Sealed Artifact, he would have truly regarded the other party as his servant.
Amidst the crisp clicking sound, the illusory white paper grew another section, revealing another scene:
It was a majestic mountain peak, upon which stood a dilapidated palace, inside which a huge stone chair could be vaguely seen.
Klein was very familiar with this scene; he knew what it symbolized without needing the " Magic Mirror " Arrodes's annotation.
The Antigonus Family treasure lies hidden on the main peak of the Hornacis Mountain Range!
The blank paper continues to be ejected, and new scenes unfold on top, with changes in camera perspective, much like in a movie:
The first thing that caught Klein's eye was a towering Gothic clock tower and the magnificent palaces surrounding it.
The former represents the " Clock of Order," and the latter represents the Sodrak Palace; both are iconic buildings of Backlund.
The camera moves, and soon a new building appears on the white paper: a pure black church with two symmetrical bell towers.
The church grows larger and larger within the scene, soon revealing its interior, and finally settling on a pair of iron-black double doors somewhere underground.
The gate was exceptionally heavy, engraved with seven Sacred Emblem of Darkness, like the guardians of the Dark Heaven.
" Chanis Gate... Saint Samuel Cathedral..." Klein recognized the familiar gate and, based on the architectural features, determined that the church was Saint Samuel Cathedral, the headquarters of the Church of the Evernight Goddess in Backlund!
A blank sheet of paper is ejected, and the scene shifts to a deep darkness. On an empty bookshelf made of white bones, an ancient notebook sits quietly, its cover made of cardboard and stained black.
Klein recognized the notebook at a glance:
It is the Antigonus Family Notebook that caused the original owner of the body's death!
After all that, we've come full circle!
Klein stared silently for a while, and only after the image disappeared did he regain his own thoughts:
"That's true. Back then, the people from the Aurora Order saw the ' Clown ' Potion recipe in this notebook. Now that I've gained its approval, when I look at it again, the contents will definitely be completely different from before. It should contain the ' Bizarro Sorcerer ' Potion recipe, but it's missing some materials or properties."
"It turns out this notebook has been sealed behind the Chanis Gate of Saint Samuel Cathedral. Retrieving it from such a place is no easier than finding Zaratul and confronting Him... The Great Smog of Backlund Incident, which involved High-Sequence powerhouses, was quickly quelled after I reported it to the Backlund Diocese through Miss ' Justice.' This demonstrates the strength of the Backlund Diocese; they certainly don't lack Demigod or Sealed Artifact... Hmm, anyway, I'll return to Backlund first and see if there's an opportunity. Compared to that, I'd much rather not go to the Hornacis Mountain Range..."
Composing himself, Klein looked at the now dark and deep radio receiver and said:
"Who was that Demigod on ' Mad Captain ' Connors Victor's ship last night?"
The light, rhythmic tapping sound continued as the illusory white paper in front disappeared, and a new one was expelled.
The content on the blank paper also depicts a real scene:
On an exquisite brass lamp stand, five candles cast light and heat at varying heights. A middle-aged man wearing a tricorn hat and a black eye patch stood humbly in front of a cabinet displaying wine, champagne, and distilled spirits, looking at the man opposite him.
Opposite him stood a tall figure draped in a black cloak, his face completely hidden beneath the hood.
The figure seemed to have no real head, only a deep, Distortion mass of darkness embedded in its neck.
Using the portrait on the wanted poster, Klein recognized the One-Eyed man as " Mad Captain " Qonas, whose disheveled and greasy hair fell down, just covering his neck.
The person opposite should be that Demigod, but he deliberately disguised himself and performed a counter- Divination. It was quite remarkable that Arrodes could obtain an image of this caliber... Klein wasn't too disappointed; instead, he carefully memorized the figure's proportions:
Over 1.85 meters tall, but under 1.90 meters... arms are slightly long, almost reaching the knees when hanging down... broad shoulders that fill out the cloak... legs are slightly outward-pointing...
As an expert in the field of disguise, Klein believes that once a person has concealed their appearance and undergone a certain degree of counter- Divination, there is a high probability that they will no longer pay attention to the disguise of their physique, especially if there is nothing particularly special about it.
Therefore, this can provide some clues that will help Klein feel familiar with the target when he sees it in the future!
"Very well, it's your turn to ask a question." After remembering this, Klein stopped looking at him and waited with great interest for " Magic Mirror " Arrodes to ask a question.
He was very curious whether the other person could exceed his expectations this time.
The clicking of the keyboard slowed, revealing a hint of hesitation, and then the illusory white paper slowly emerged:
"Great master, may I... may I say something to you?"
"Yes." Klein answered the question with slight surprise, and looked forward to what Arrodes would say.
The tapping sound suddenly quickened, revealing a distinct enthusiasm.
On the illusory white paper, lines of words appeared one after another:
Happy birthday, dear master!
"This is a belated blessing. Your current body corresponds to the date of your birth, March 4th, 1327. I originally intended to be the first to wish you a blessing that morning, but I couldn't keep up with your pace."
... This is definitely a topic that exceeded my expectations... I had completely forgotten about my birthday... Klein's lips twitched slightly, unsure of what to say.
He received fragments of the original owner's memories and gained some of his emotions. He still knew his birthday, but being alone and wandering far from home, he wouldn't remember such things anymore.
Arrodes was the first to wish me a happy birthday... Benson and Melissa must be feeling pretty down on this day... The interviews ended in February, I wonder if Benson got the government job... Klein sighed, his gaze softening as he looked at the radio receiver.
He thought for a moment, then calmly said:
"The third question is about your background."
The clicking sound stopped for two seconds, then resumed.
The blank paper was ejected piece by piece, and new scenes appeared on them:
Large amounts of black, viscous liquid gushed from the holes in the ground. They Distortion and stretched outwards, sprouting varying numbers of arms and legs, and then transformed into strange Monster that charged forward.
During this process, a point of light was ejected along with black liquid, landed on a stone, and quickly merged with it, transforming into a silver mirror with ancient patterns and black gemstone decorations on both sides.
What a strange scene this is... Is this how Arrodes was born? And what are those points of light, and where do they come from? They seem to possess Beyonder Characteristic... Klein began to analyze the scene he was seeing.
The clicking sound didn't stop; another line of words came out:
"Great master, do you have any other questions?"
After calculating the time, Klein shook his head and said:
"No."
"You have completed your answer, and it is time for me to depart, great master, ruler of the Spirit World. Your humble and faithful servant Arrodes, looks forward to serving you once more, and to following in your footsteps forever. Farewell~" A waving emoji appeared on the illusory white paper at the end.
