Knowing that the diaries carefully selected by the " Mystery Queen " must contain very important information, " The Fool " Klein focused his mind and casually glanced at the brown parchment in his hand:
"September 11th. Since becoming Angel, I have had the feeling that my personality is splitting. In my heart, in my soul, in the depths of my spirit, there is always a voice urging me, influencing me, creating uncontrollable indifference, bloodlust, cruelty and madness."
"This does not originate from the outside world, nor is it the influence of gods on my own path. I can clearly feel that it originates from genes, from the collective unconsciousness inherited by generations of humans, from the Beyonder Characteristic themselves, rather than from any residual spiritual influence."
"It gives me an intense urge to hunt and kill, to devour all living beings around me with Beyonder Characteristic. This forces me to spend most of my energy fighting it, and even though I'm already Acting and digesting the Potion, it hasn't helped."
"No wonder Mr. 'Men' said that reason is temporary, madness is eternal."
"September 28th. I haven't written in my diary for a long time. In the past two weeks, I felt like I was being replaced by strangers little by little, becoming cold and scary. Even my daughter Bernadette could only evoke a small amount of fatherly love in me, very little."
Just when I was about to go mad, I seemed to hear countless praises. They were my subjects, all those who benefited from my reforms, and my followers who regarded me as the ' Child of Steam,' praising me, singing my praises, erecting statues for me, writing stories for me, and creating poems for me.
Their voices were like anchors for a ship, helping me to 'position' myself.
"I began to have the ability to resist that desire, to resist that heartfelt cry. I gradually emerged from it and was able to have normal emotions as a father, a husband, and a man again."
"If such a change can occur at Sequence 2 alone, how terrifying would the sheer madness be when we reach Sequence 0, the level of a true god?"
"Perhaps they also need 'positioning' to counteract their Beyonder Characteristic and the strong tendency to lose control lurking deep within the collective unconscious."
"I think I understand now why they established churches, why they spread their faith, and why they wrote chapters for the Saint under their influence and left legends for the corresponding Angel..."
"But why don't they have human forms, and are they just symbols?"
I don't understand.
"Next time, ask Mr. 'Door.' He knows a great deal about the divine realm. If He hadn't been Exile, there might have been one more deity."
"On September 29th, while rereading yesterday's diary, I recalled the rituals corresponding to my Sequence 4, Sequence 3, and Sequence 2. They all clearly had a crazy and cruel connotation, like the kind that villains in novels would perform."
" The Sequence Pathway is likely a path destined for madness and despair."
"And this is the only path for humanity to obtain extraordinary power."
"How ridiculous! How ironic!"
"Are we striving to save ourselves only to destroy ourselves more completely and effectively?"
The contents of the first page of the diary weighed heavily on Klein's mind. The Roselle who wrote those words was no longer an ordinary person; he had become Angel, joined the " Hermits of Fate," and seen the " Blasphemy Slate." His understanding of the mystical world and Beyonder Characteristic far surpassed Klein's own, yet he was far more pessimistic, seemingly believing that the world was inherently Distortion, insane, and destined for self-destruction.
However, the Seven Gods seemed to have found a way to maintain their rationality. Ordinary humans weren't entirely useless; their knowledge and Spirituality, when combined, might help the gods "reposition" their original forms, retaining the memories and rationality accumulated over the years... This could be inferred from Roselle's personal experience... But why did the Seven Gods abandon their original human forms and adopt symbolic, abstract holy emblems? This doesn't quite fit my judgment... I can't understand it... Klein didn't waste any time and turned to the next page of his diary:
"On December 5th, the night of the Blood Moon, I had a conversation with Mr. 'Men'."
"He always makes the same request as before, asking me to help him return to the real world, but he doesn't insist too much, and he answers some of my questions randomly."
"Hehe, it's like he's playing a game, trying his best to increase his favorability. But, sorry, I've already locked this option in advance."
"Since I already knew the legends of the Angel King, I asked Mr. 'Men' with the mindset that asking wouldn't hurt, mainly to find out the exact level of the Angel King ' strength."
"Mr. Door said that some Angel King possess Uniqueness, some have consumed two Sequence 1 Potion, and some possess both."
"The word 'accommodate' is used very strangely. I questioned it, but Mr. 'Door' did not answer directly. He only told me that if there is no way to 'accommodate' Uniqueness, then before the ceremony is held and the angel is promoted to Sequence 0, Uniqueness is a hindrance rather than a help to the Sequence 1 Angel."
"Yes, I understand. Just like using a '0' level Sealed Artifact, the negative effects are always terrifyingly large, and the Uniqueness is definitely even more exaggerated."
"I then asked which of the Angel King 'accommodated' Uniqueness, and Mr. Door again did not answer directly, only saying that Amon and Adam aroused the deepest Envy of all the Angel because they were born with Uniqueness, so there was no need to consider the issue of 'accommodation'. From another perspective, does this mean that Amon and Adam themselves had consumed the Uniqueness of Sequence 1 Potion? No wonder they are the sons of the Creator!"
"That Creator, also known as the Ancient The Sun God, was so powerful that he could pass on Uniqueness and Sequence 1 Beyonder Characteristic to each of his two children... Was He purifying himself, eliminating unnecessary interference?"
"So, did Mr. 'Door' also 'accommodate' Uniqueness, and even consume two Sequence 1 Potion? I didn't ask, because I knew He certainly wouldn't answer."
During the conversation, Mr. Door reminded me not to say Adam's full name directly, otherwise it would be noticed and the conversation would be discovered.
"I think I understand why," I said with a smile, "Didn't you already say Adam's full name yourself?"
Mr. Door replied that it was alright, because the Sequence 4 of the Apprentice pathway was called " Secrets Sorcerer," which had a certain connotation of keeping secrets. Although it was not as good as the " Servant of Concealment " of the Evernight pathway, it was enough for beings of His level to shield themselves from detection.
"I asked many more questions about the gods, but Mr. 'Door' did not answer them. He only said that when I have the ability and opportunity, I will go to the Moon and see for myself, and then I will understand many things."
"This aligns with some of my previous thoughts, but I suspect He's tempting me to return to the real world, since His appearances are always related to the Moon!"
Whenever Mr. "Door" appears, the amount of information is always substantial, always filling an entire page... Hmm, his explanation of the " Angel King's " power level aligns well with my speculation...
In a broad sense, " Angel King " refers to a quasi-god who, through various means, surpasses Sequence 1 but does not reach Sequence 0. This includes embracing " Uniqueness " and consuming additional Sequence 1 Potion. In a narrow sense, " Angel King " specifically refers to the eight kings who command all Angel beside the Ancient The Sun God, the Creator worshipped by City of Silver. Of course, they also certainly meet the broad definition... Several thoughts flashed through Klein's mind.
As for Roselle's speculation about the Ancient The Sun God, he wholeheartedly agreed, believing that the Creator worshipped by the City of Silver had "reclaimed" too much and too varied ancient god authority, leading to signs of chaos and madness. Therefore, he decisively had two children to eliminate some of the "impurities."
In short, both Amon and Adam were given away by Potion... Judging from this, " Angel of Imagination " Adam clearly possesses the Uniqueness of the " Spectator " pathway, and he should be the mysterious leader of the " Hermits of Fate," interfering with the changes of the times from ancient times to the present in order to resurrect his father... I wonder if he has reached Promotion Sequence 0... Even if he hasn't, the number of Angel that the " Hermits of Fate " can mobilize is probably beyond my imagination... Hmm, " Secrets Sorcerer " even has the meaning of keeping secrets, it has a Concealment connotation... Klein suddenly thought of the symbol on the back of the " The Fool's " chair:
Part of it symbolizes the Concealment " Pupil-less Eye," while part of it represents the " Line of Distortion " that signify change!
He quickly snapped out of his reverie and turned to the third page of his diary:
On November 28th, I dreamed of Green again.
"He was the smartest of my subordinates, but unfortunately, while exploring that nameless island, he was infected by an unknown virus and died in the Sonia Sea, leaving behind not even his child."
"At that time, I knew that the nameless island held secrets and unimaginable dangers, but I was not at a high enough level or strong enough, so I could only endure it."
"This dream must be my Spirituality reminding me that I can explore that island, uncover its secrets, and finally put an end to the Green affair."
"On November 29th, I gathered three subordinates, and with the help of Benjamin Abraham and after a period of searching, we finally rediscovered the nameless island."
"We didn't go in directly; we decided to rest for a day on the outskirts first."
Edwards said he also often dreamed of Green and felt deeply guilty for not being able to save him at the time.
"'This isn't your responsibility, it's my problem,' I told Edwards, because I was their leader."
On November 30th, we ventured deeper into the island.
"Here dwell a great number of extraordinary creatures, said to be extinct. They gather together without fighting, seemingly worshipping something..."
"This group of extraordinary creatures, who seem to lack Wisdom, appears to be performing some kind of ritual!"
Are they praying to unknown gods?
"During the ceremony, I saw Green..."
P. S.: I recommend a book, "I Pretend to Have Superpowers." It's said that many readers will laugh themselves silly starting from the middle part.
PS2: I'd also like to recommend a book, "Dungeon Player," about Devil lord who tricks Earthlings into working for free to build his dungeon. I've actually been reading this book; it's unconventional and quite interesting.
