Xie Feng discovered the means to ascend, led the Xuanji Sect through the Heavenly Gate, and reached the Upper Realm. The group was assigned to the prison-like Great Wilderness Heaven, where Xie Feng confronted convict leader Gu Cang before a woman arrived.

• Sushang sealed and killed the Marquis of Northern Nether, and the Heavenly Ranking erased the Wei Clan and named the Xuanji Sect first.
• Xie Feng and his companions found the Luo Mo Secret Realm, where Xie Feng learned the conditions for ascension and gathered providence to transform the Cherished Wine Cup Sword into a Heaven-Opening Sword.
• The immortal beast eggs hatched into mounts for Changying, Sushang, Qi Wuyan, Anping, and Zhou Jin, while Xie Feng revealed his plan to open all ninety-nine Heavenly Veins.

Xie Feng took control of Great Wilderness Heaven, freed its convicts, and rose to the top of the Heavenly Ranking. As the Ten Thousand Immortals Assembly approached, he traveled with Changying and Yun Muchen to an immortal market, where he bought a stone containing Supreme Saint Qi.

• Xie Feng defeated Meng Shou, claimed Wilderness City’s deed, and became its Immortal Lord, while Zhao Yuejia explained the prison formation that confined Great Wilderness Heaven’s convicts.
• Xie Feng awakened the Saint Dragon Earth Vein, gained its sacred providence, and helped the convicts and Xuanji Sect advance, and Zhao Yuejia broke his shackles and left with Sushang.
• Xie Feng replaced the Heavenly Punishment Sacred Formation, poisoned three Immortal Alliance inspectors, and offered the convicts freedom, and three hundred thousand stayed, were released from their brands, and became the Great Wilderness Army.
