In reality, they are not wolves, but Worgen that have been corrupted by the Worgen Curse!
Without the calming power of Druid magic and the help of Nightbane, these Worgen are mostly in a state of frenzy, unable to distinguish friend from foe, so they attack both the Undead and humans.
Worgen are truly terrifying in combat. They have an acute sense of smell, are as fast as wolves, but are much larger than ordinary forest wolves, resembling Great Wolf that walk upright. Even Worgen transformed from an ordinary farmer can easily kill a well-trained soldier. The combat power of any Worgen is at the professional level!
Worgen are just as terrifying as Gnoll, or even more Gnoll!
Their strength, speed, jumping ability, recovery ability, keen senses, and Bloodlust madness all give them combat power far exceeding that of ordinary people!
Zombies or skeletons are no match for Worgen. Even Ghoul would have a hard time fighting an adult Worgen in a one-on-one fight. A dozen or so Worgen were moving through hundreds of Undead and managing to defeat Undead completely!
It has to be said that, if there were no Worgen Curse, or if Worgen could control their own rationality, summoning Worgen to fight the Undead would actually be a pretty good idea.
It's better than losing your country!
Worgen are far more powerful than ordinary humans!
Unfortunately, these Worgen lacked reason and even hunted down the fleeing humans!
Among the refugees were some soldiers in armor, carrying weapons; perhaps they were local security guards, trying their best to protect the refugees, but with little effect.
They are no match for the Undead and Worgen!
Even five fully armed soldiers would have a hard time dealing with a single Worgen!
" Allen, stay here. Anveena, protect him." Jiang Jie sprinted forward, arriving at the battlefield in an instant.
A Ghoul's claws reached for a child, whose father stood in his way, about to be killed.
Suddenly, a flash of sword light appeared, and the Ghoul's body was split in two, blood splattering everywhere.
A Worgen had just killed a woman and was about to kill her man when another flash of sword light pierced the Worgen's heart!
Jiang Jie traversed the battlefield, rescuing people from dire straits.
A dozen Worgen and a few hundred Undead are nothing.
Even the most powerful Worgen's combat strength is only equivalent to that of a battle-hardened veteran, a low-level Warrior, or a mid-level Warrior has experienced life-and-death battles on the battlefield; they are far from being a match for Jiang Jie.
If Jiang Jie were to be surrounded by these Worgen and Undead, he might have no chance to fight them off and would have no choice but to run away.
But now that Worgen and Undead are also fighting, what does he have to fear?
Suddenly, some of the Undead smelled the scent of the living and rushed toward Allen from another direction.
Anveena raised her hand, and Arcane Missiles down on the Undead, blasting them to smithereens.
Blood and flesh splattered everywhere. Allen felt nauseous and bent over to vomit, but Anveena was completely unharmed.
Don't forget, she's not human; she lacks human morals and codes of conduct. In her eyes, there's no difference between humans and pigs or dogs, between the living and the dead, between chunks of flesh and corpses, and she feels no disgust whatsoever...
Ten minutes later, all the Undead were killed. The Worgen sensed the danger and fled, leaving behind several corpses.
"I am Nicholas Jiang, Earl of Lordaeron. Where did you come from? What is the situation in Gilneas?" Jiang Jie up to the fleeing people and asked in a deep voice.
The people were in a panic, huddled together. It seemed that the deaths of their companions, the Undead, and the Worgen had terrified them beyond belief!
After all, they are just ordinary people, and living in Gilneas City, they haven't experienced war for many years. The peaceful life has made them less brave and strong!
A middle-aged man who seemed to be of high status stepped forward, scrutinizing Jiang Jie for a while before saying, "We come from Emberstone Village. Emberstone Village has been overrun by the Undead, and many people are dead. We originally intended to seek refuge in Gilneas City..."
We found the city gates locked and couldn't get in, so we had to flee north. "We encountered these monsters half an hour ago." He was a soldier, a rare high-ranking Warrior, with recent scratches on his armor, a sword in his hand, still stained with blood. He had been protecting the others, displaying great bravery.
He even killed a Worgen and two Ghoul!
"They are not monsters; they were once your kind." Jiang Jie gently shook his head, then said, "You want to go through the Greymane Wall to Silverpine Forest? Don't go; it's already been occupied by the Cult of the Damned!"
The group exchanged bewildered glances, until finally the high-ranking Warrior asked, " The Cult of the Damned? What's that? I know an officer guarding Greymane Wall; he's my former superior. If any members of the Cult of the Damned wreak havoc, I'll tell him, and he'll surely wipe them out!"
" The Cult of the Damned serves the Undead. Your former superior has either joined the Cult of the Damned or has been killed! In any case, if you go to Greymane Wall, you're committing suicide." Jiang Jie frowned, feeling that this was a difficult situation.
Let's ignore these people; they're in great danger. The Undead and Worgen have spread here, and they'll be killed!
Never mind them, I have more important things to do. I need to find out what's going on in the Kingdom of Gilneas; that can't wait.
Sometimes, intelligence is more important than the lives of dozens or hundreds of people, because it concerns the lives of many more!
"How far is it from here to the west coast?" Jiang Jie thought for a moment, then asked.
"The western coast? It should be another twenty or thirty kilometers or so," the high-ranking Warrior said.
"I need to go to Gilneas City to try and contact King Genn or other political and noble figures. This is very important, so I can't protect you." Jiang Jie asked, "I suggest you head to the west coast immediately. The Crowley Family will meet you there and take you north of the Greymane Wall. Of course, there will be dangers along the way. Ultimately, it's your choice; your lives are in your own hands!"
"Let's discuss this." The high-ranking Warrior and the others discussed for a while, then walked up to Jiang Jie: "Are you really Earl of Lordaeron? Can we... trust you? Will the Crowley Family... really come to our aid?"
"I have no reason to lie to you; at least I saved you just now." Jiang Jie glanced at him. "Whether I am Earl or not, I can't prove it to you. If you manage to reach the western coast alive, Lord Darius will prove my identity to you."
"Alright, let's go to the west coast!" The high-ranking Warrior nodded emphatically.
Ignoring these people, Jiang Jie led Anveena and Allen, running towards Gilneas City.
They were not far from Gilneas City, only a few kilometers away. Although they encountered small groups of Undead and Worgen attacks along the way, they still arrived in Gilneas City an hour later.
