Background / History

Creation and Protection

Krasus formed Anveena from the Sunwell’s remaining energy, giving her the appearance of a human girl. She began without memories, although Krasus supplied knowledge that helped her understand the world. Her essence ultimately originated in the Well of Eternity—the blood of Azeroth’s nascent Titan world-soul 203 222 280 407.

The Scourge sought her out, and Dar’Khan attacked her hiding place. Despite her superior energy reserves, her lack of training left her vulnerable to his spells. After the battle, Krasus removed a complicated seal restraining her and entrusted her to Jiang Jie 219 220 221.

Jiang Jie settled her near his own room at Fenris Keep, introducing her as an elder’s niece named Anveena Teague to conceal her origins. He then obtained High Elf spellbooks for her education 222 223.

Early Campaigns and the Elemental Spirits

Anveena accompanied Jiang Jie into Gilneas, where her simple fire spells destroyed more than a hundred Undead during the siege. She continued studying while fighting, later confronting more than ten Worgen while consulting a spellbook 232 247.

During the search for the ancient Elemental Spirits, she persuaded Huo and Wugou to join the group, befriended Shu, and learned that Zhaoren had bullied Dafeng. She brought the spirits to confront the Onyx Cloud Serpent, whom the four spirits defeated 260.

At Demon Fall Canyon, she helped fight Mannoroth through combined elemental attacks and by powering Thori’dal while Jiang Jie fired Strom’kar as an arrow. The battle left her severely injured, requiring recovery inside the bow 284 285.

Mount Hyjal and Elune’s Power

Medivh identified Anveena as the ideal vessel for Elune’s power because of her connection to the Well of Eternity. With Tyrande channeling the Moon Goddess’s blessing, Anveena became an arrow that severely wounded Archimonde. She survived and entered a deep sleep while assimilating part of that power 315 341.

She awakened during the crisis at Southshore and merged with Jiang Jie as golden-white wings, enabling him to destroy the Undead air forces. Later, she again became the Arrow of the Moon Goddess for the strike that shattered the Frozen Throne and destroyed Ner’zhul’s soul. She also secretly recovered the Lich King’s armor before the group escaped Icecrown 341 376.

Uldaman and Magical Training

Uldaman’s systems recognized Anveena as a Lesser Keeper. After obtaining Ironaya’s staff, she awakened its Earthen and Stone Giants. The dying Archaedas acknowledged her origin and saw her as a new hope against the Old Gods’ influence over the Keepers 405 408 411.

Her authority subsequently secured the Maiden of Virtue’s allegiance in Karazhan. Aegwynn later took her away for intensive magical instruction, temporarily preventing her from merging with Jiang Jie 442 480.

After returning, Anveena received a nominal deputy headmistress position at Jiang Jie’s school. Her improved magic persuaded two initially dismissive archmages to accept the appointment 513 517.

Northrend and the Old Gods

In Northrend, Anveena presented her credentials to the Vault Watchers and underwent Titan identity verification. Freya’s avatar later gave her control of the Etymidian, which she piloted against Bonescythe the Fleshshaper 612 615 850.

She joined the aerial operation against Skadi at Utgarde Keep and helped expose Anub’arak’s vulnerable abdomen with earth spikes. Together with White Gorilla, she pinned the Nerubian king beneath a massive rock so Jiang Jie could finish him 631 660.

Against C’Thun, she used the Titans Prison’s systems to strengthen her position and repair damaged sections of the prison. The four Elemental Spirits cleared hostile creatures while she restored the facility and removed proliferating Old God tissue 832 845.

Succession to the Keepers

At the Halls of Origination, four Titan-forged recognized Anveena and enabled her to inherit Archaedas’s authority over earth and forging. The transfer also drew in power reserved by Archaedas and Ironaya in Uldaman, but its depleted state left her weaker than a fully empowered Keeper 854.

Following Yogg-Saron’s defeat, the Keepers selected her as High Keeper. Once the Forge of Wills restarted, her strength recovered to Titan Keeper level. She subsequently fought Deathwing in an enormous Stone Giant form, striking him with the Hammer of Khaz’goroth 894 898.

Appearance

• Humanoid form: Appears fifteen or sixteen years old, with waist-length golden hair and beauty described as beyond that of an ordinary human 203 222.
• Clothing and radiance: Wears gold and white and frequently manifests golden-white light 341 361.
• Keeper form: Resembles a smaller Ironaya, wearing fitted stone armor covered in intricate Titan runes that shine with blue arcane light 408 612.
• Other forms: Can become a golden arrow, golden-white wings, or an enormous Stone Giant 315 341 898.

Personality

Anveena begins highly intelligent but inexperienced, with little understanding of life beyond the knowledge Krasus provides. She cries when separated from him and follows his instruction to trust Jiang Jie completely. Although she looks adolescent, she is less than a year old during the Uldaman expedition, when her mental maturity is compared to that of a playful ten-year-old 222 227 315 407.

She finds magic enjoyable and studies whenever an opportunity arises—even during travel and combat. Her confidence grows alongside her abilities: she becomes competitive when impressed by Kael’thas and develops a temper when Rage Winterchill prevents her from casting 229 247 284 308.

She remains affectionate toward Jiang Jie and protective of Krasus. Despite her growing authority, she can still become frightened or discouraged, seeking reassurance from Jiang Jie after Archaedas’s outburst and Aegwynn’s criticism 411 513 545 557.

Elune’s Blessing

After Mount Hyjal, Anveena can contact Elune directly and functions as both mage and priest 468.

• Arrow of the Moon Goddess: Becomes or helps form a divinely empowered projectile, guiding its course with her own consciousness 315 525.
• Purification: Helps channel the power that cleanses Ysondre’s Nightmare corruption 525.
• Remote attack: Prays alongside Tyrande during the strike that destroys one of Xavius’s eyes in the Emerald Dream 557.
• Limits: Prayer requires opportunity; continuous attacks prevent her from repeatedly invoking Elune during an orc assault 468.

Titan Authority and Earth Manipulation

Her Azeroth origin allows Titan systems to recognize her as a Keeper, while Archaedas’s inheritance grants authority over earth and forging 405 854.
