"I, I... I don't know!" Med'an scratched his head, looking troubled and unsure of what to do.
He really wanted the Chicken Leg Staff, because it was a staff used by his grandmother and father, a legendary staff that even he had heard of.
But he also knew that such a staff was extremely precious. The fragments were all obtained by Jiang Jie Jiang Jie, who also killed the demon and repaired it. Simply put, it now belonged to someone else.
Although the other party offered to give it to him, why should he take it? He's not the kind of person who takes favors from others for nothing; he's not that shameless.
Most importantly, Meryl objected.
Although he had been arguing with Meryl these past few days, he had actually listened to Meryl for over a decade and treated Meryl like a father or mother. He knew that Meryl's decision was for his own good, which was why he was hesitant.
"It seems you haven't decided yet. But that's okay, there's plenty of time, you can take your time to think about it."
Jiang Jie smiled, then looked at Meryl: "Master Meryl, shall we continue upwards? Since we want to purify Karazhan, we should certainly figure out the current situation of this tower... and eliminate any hidden dangers within it."
Meryl nodded.
The group continued upwards.
The Keeper ' library was so large that it took them a full ten minutes to leave.
Jiang Jie looked up and saw broken walls everywhere above him, as well as ruins floating in the sky due to an unknown power. All of this was different from what he saw from the outside.
Looking up, the tower above appears completely broken, making it impossible for any rooms to exist. But as you continue upwards, new rooms appear, which is very strange. It's unclear whether the rooms are hidden by magic or if, in reality, each step they take is traversing different dimensions of time.
There were magical barriers everywhere. Although the game pod had a lot of stored energy, it couldn't withstand being squandered. If it scanned and analyzed everything wherever it went, Jiang Jie probably wouldn't even be able to leave the library before the energy was depleted.
The tower was filled with traces of magic, and its interior space was more than ten times larger than it appeared from the outside. Jiang Jie suspected that the broken tower he saw when he looked up was probably no longer in this world, but rather in the Twisting Nether.
As they continued forward, all sorts of terrifying spells suddenly appeared!
Frostbolt, Fireball, Blizzard, Slow, Polymorph...
All sorts of spells were endless, magical turbulence was everywhere, Arcane condensations were everywhere, everywhere was...
Spell Shade!
These creatures, which look somewhat similar to Arcane Servant, are pure energy beings. They are magical entities created by spells from different times and spaces, past, present, and future, under the influence of Karazhan's unique spacetime force field.
Each Spell Shade here can continuously cast spells; of course, each Spell Shade represents a spell and can only use that spell.
Does it look easy to deal with?
The problem is, there are just too many Spell Shade here!
The higher you go, the more Spell Shade.
Once they left the corridor and entered a separate library, the Spell Shade instantly increased, with at least thirty in the small room!
Jiang Jie could deal with these Spell Shade, but they were rather troublesome, so he left everything to Med'an.
Yes, Med'an.
Meryl has no intention of making a move.
Med'an's graduation exam as a mage apprentice is not yet over, and dealing with these Spell Shade and calming the Arcane turbulence is a true test of a mage's abilities, making it the best graduation exam, far more effective than any theoretical test.
No one else is allowed to make a move.
So they walked very slowly.
Fortunately, Med'an has a solid foundation. Although he has not yet graduated, his magical skills have already reached the level of a high-level mage, and he is not far from becoming Archmage.
" Anveena, you can come too," Jiang Jie said calmly.
Anveena spent far too much time studying magic; it took her less than a year in total.
But she herself is the embodiment of the essence of the Well of Eternity, and manipulating energy is practically instinctive for her.
They learn magic very quickly; although they are still a bit behind Med'an, they are actually not far behind. The two of them stand side by side, one on each side, making quite a lively scene.
These Spell Shade are endless. It can be said that as long as Karazhan exists and as long as this place remains a crossroads of space and time, these Spell Shade can never be completely eliminated.
New Spell Shade keep appearing, making survival in this mage tower inherently dangerous. The lower levels are manageable, but the upper levels are far too perilous. Let alone ordinary people, even a mid-level or high-level mage with decent strength would find it difficult to break through the blockade of these Spell Shade; a single misstep could lead to death.
The higher you go, the fewer books there are on the shelves.
When they entered a new room, the Spell Shade disappeared, but they saw some faint, almost imperceptible bandaged figures.
These incorporeal beings, whose bodies appear to burn with pink flames and are bound by bandages, are called " Ethereal."
Ethereal are beings from the Twisting Nether, astral travelers traversing the chaotic universe, known for their passion for collecting and trading magical items and artifacts.
Of course, they didn't actually want it to be this way either.
The Ethereal are a race with advanced technology and magic, and they originally lived on a planet called " K'aresh ".
However, the planet was later Devastation by a terrifying creature called " Dimensius the All-Devouring." The Ethereal beings were also Devastation by the constant influx of Void Energy and Arcane energy, turning into a collection of souls, Void Energy, and Arcane energy, and had to use enchanted bandages to fix their form.
Otherwise, they would just be a mass of energy.
This race has drifted through the stars for millennia. Some, under the leadership of the Node Prince, established the " The Consortium," while others formed smaller groups. However, many more Ethereal turned into despicable thieves.
Unlike Goblin, Ethereal are not enthusiastic about ordinary wealth; they prefer mystical treasures with magical properties.
Karazhan connects countless dimensions, and thus, Ethereal have also come here.
Such a mage tower is naturally a favorite of Ethereal!
Why are the bookshelves almost empty? Less than a third of the books remain, and all of them are spellbooks protected by powerful magic.
Clearly, the other books were taken by the Ethereal!
Each area in Karazhan is independent; although it may not appear enclosed, it is actually isolated by various magical barriers.
Therefore, whether it's a ghost or Maiden of Virtue, they can only stay within a certain range.
Want to go somewhere else?
Yes, you can either be like Jiang Jie, possessing the Karazhan Key and becoming a "VIP" of this mage tower, where all but a very few areas will be open to you;
Either you have to be like Meryl, possessing enough magical power to be willing to spend the time to break through these magical barriers!
Clearly, these Ethereal thieves lacked both of the necessary conditions, and with an endless Spell Shade blocking their path, they were trapped in this area, wasting a great deal of time deciphering the powerful spells in the spellbook.
The arrival of Jiang Jie and his group naturally provoked hostility from the Ethereal.
Jiang Jie originally wanted to have a good chat with them, learn about the Ethereal race, and perhaps even establish a connection with this mysterious and powerful race. However, these Ethereal thieves completely ignored him and launched an attack!
If you are unkind, I will be unjust.
Then it was time for Anveena and Med'an to perform.
The Ethereal are a race that combines soul, Void Energy, and Arcane energy, so they can cast spells and possess special abilities such as " Warp " and " Phase Shift," making them very difficult to deal with.
No other place in Azeroth has ever seen Ethereal, except in Karazhan. Due to the convergence of spacetime, Ethereal accidentally arrived there, so even Meryl had never seen these mysterious creatures, nor had she ever heard of them.
So even Meryl made a move, wanting to capture one for serious study.
Unfortunately, these Ethereal thieves refused to yield even unto death, Meryl had no choice but to give up.
They kept walking forward, and when they came to another large, separate room, they saw a dragon.
A blue, ethereal dragon, seemingly nonexistent.
