In September, the weather in Northrend begins to turn cold.
Yes, even though it is located in the frigid north, Northrend has cold and extremely cold times.
The Northern Expedition was launched in the hottest part of June because the Northrend Expedition would also find it difficult to withstand the harsh winter cold of Icecrown Glacier. The colder the weather, the stronger Arthas would become, and the more powerful the Frost Wyrm would grow, making the war even more difficult.
Therefore, when preparations were nearly complete and the major powers had surrounded Icecrown Glacier, Uther convened a high-level meeting of the allied forces and proposed to end the war before winter arrived.
Regarding the overall offensive, these leaders held several meetings, formulated a series of plans, and passed a resolution with a high vote:
The Allied Forces will build the Crusaders' Coliseum at the newly established second Vanguard Encampment north of Icecrown Glacier, and select the bravest and strongest warriors through competition to carry out the most important missions.
This is a trial, but also a competition. All the major forces want to show off their high-end combat power and will send their strongest warriors.
The largest arena in the Vanguard Encampment has four distinct sets of spectator seating.
At the very front of the western stands were several Horde leaders: Warchief Thrall, Warsong Clan Chieftain Grom, Tauren Chieftain Cairne, and Darkspear Chieftain Vol'jin.
Because of Jiang Jie's appearance, the Horde lost the powerful ally " The Forsaken " and the potential ally " Blood Elf," resulting in a significant decrease in overall strength.
As for the Goblin, they are currently neutral, serving whoever pays them.
However, thanks to Jiang Jie, the Horde did not kill Cenarius, and their relationship with the Night Elf did not deteriorate to the point of frequent life-or-death battles. In addition, Jaina restrained the humans in Theramore, and Admiral Daelin did not flee to Kalimdor. Therefore, the Horde has been doing well recently.
Besides Durotar, the Horde has also occupied the Barrens and Mulgore, and is sending troops to reinforce the Tauren, preparing to march into Desolace and reclaim the Tauren's original territory.
On the other hand, the Horde also sent troops to Azshara to deal with the demons entrenched there. This move won the favor of the Night Elf, shifting their attitude from hostility towards neutrality.
Thrall never forgot his compatriots left behind on the Eastern Kingdoms. He sent men and ships there several times to evacuate tens of thousands of Orcs Eastern Kingdoms. The Alliance nations did not obstruct them but silently allowed them to pass.
These Orcs are very powerful in combat; they would only be a menace if they stayed on the Eastern Kingdoms. It's better to get rid of them.
As for whether this will put pressure on and have an impact on Theramore?
Sorry, they're not interested in that.
So when they saw Thrall and the others, apart from Admiral Daelin looked displeased, the other leaders were relatively restrained.
After all, the Horde was on another continent, and they couldn't possibly organize an expedition.
In the western seats sat the leaders of the Alliance: Uther, Old Mograine, Tirion Fordring, Muradin, Sylvanas, Admiral Daelin, Bolvar Fordragon, Jaina, Archmage Modera, Highlord Falstad...
The formation was clearly much larger.
In fact, the Horde sent only one-third of the Alliance's forces on this expedition.
It is said that in Borean Tundra, Wintergrasp, and Crystalsong Forest, warriors of the Horde and Alliance have engaged in numerous private skirmishes, resulting in many deaths and injuries. If it weren't for Thrall and Jaina's restraint, the war between the Horde and Alliance might have broken out before the Northrend campaign even ended!
Some hatreds are hard to erase even with time. Sooner or later, war will reignite between the Alliance and the Horde; it's just unknown how long it will take.
In the seats to the south were the representatives of the Night Elf: Broll Bearmantle and Aethas Moonfire.
The Night Elf didn't join the Alliance, nor was there any need for them to. After all, their overall strength was subtly superior to that of humans, making them the undisputed number one race in Azeroth. They controlled areas including Mount Hyjal, Moonglade, Winterspring, Felwood, Ashenvale, and Darkshore.
Add to that half of Feralas, half of Azshara, and the current Grizzly Hills. And also Val'sharah in the Broken Isles.
Its land area is so vast that it is almost equal to the total area of all countries in the world.
In addition to their relationship with the Wild Gods and the Green Dragonflight, the Night Elf were simply too powerful, so powerful that they had to be weakened time and time again.
As for the seats in the north, they were occupied by a group of leaders from the Forsaken: Archbishop Faol, Archmage Gunther, and the second Knight of the Apocalypse: Orgrim Doomhammer.
During this period, both the Alliance and the Horde have come to acknowledge the existence of the " Forsaken ".
In fact, they couldn't refuse to acknowledge it, because the Northern Expedition still needed the help of the Forsaken. The Forsaken's power had grown to the point where they had to engage in dialogue on equal terms. Both Faol and Orgrim were of high enough status and influence to be willing to push such a powerful force to the side of the Scourge.
Furthermore, everyone present knew that the " Forsaken " were a force supported by the Grand Duke.
" The Undead Scourge is our common enemy. In order to eliminate the Undead, we have gathered here and organized this selection competition."
Uther was dressed in a suit of gleaming gold armor.
This " Lightbringer Armor," named after his title, was personally crafted for Uther by King Magni. Although it doesn't reach legendary status, it's still among the best epic sets.
This is a set of armor made almost entirely of Truesilver.
Truesilver is an excellent conductor of Holy Light, and almost every High-Ranking Paladin in the Order of the Silver Hand wields a " Truesilver Holy Sword."
However, the Truesilver Holy Sword was not actually made of Truesilver; it was merely plated with a layer of Truesilver.
The price of Truesilver is ten times that of gold. Even High-Ranking Paladin couldn't afford to forge a Truesilver holy sword.
The Truesilver on this armor is enough to forge a hundred " Truesilver Holy Sword." If it were sold and someone could afford it, it could buy a small town of several thousand people, making it more valuable than many legendary weapons.
Only Uther deserves a Paladin set of this quality.
He was radiant with golden light, like he was " Lightforging," and with the " Holy Hammer of the Silver Hand," one could tell at a glance that he was the embodiment of the Holy Light Holy Light and the one most favored by it.
It looks absolutely amazing, almost as good as Archbishop Turalyon of the Army of the Light.
"After a month of preliminary selections, the Night Elf and the Forsaken each selected 20 warriors, the Horde selected 40 warriors, and the Alliance nations selected 120 warriors, for a total of 200."
Uther said, "Now, we will hold group matches to ultimately select three teams: 5-person teams, 10-person teams, and 25-person teams, each to perform different tasks. I now declare the 5-person team selection competition officially open!"
