(That'll be two updates today. I'm sleepy, time for bed. Goodnight everyone.)
It has now been 24 years Dark Portal.
In January, the sea breeze brings cool, damp air to Theramore, making this port city less dry than Stratholme.
Theramore has been completed for over two years. It's a decent size, comparable to a larger town like Andorhal or Tarren Mill, but it's much smaller than proper cities like Lordaeron or Stormwind City, and even smaller than Stromgarde and Stratholme.
But this small city is crammed with nearly 80,000 people, with very few leaving. They live near the Northwatch Hold in the north, and a few others are scattered throughout the northern Dustwallow Marsh region.
The south is the domain of Ogres and black dragons.
In the southern mountains of Dustwallow Marsh lies Onyxia's lair.
Although Onyxia is dead, many black dragons still reside here.
Theramore has always relied entirely on imports for its food, which are transported from all over Lordaeron. The losses from sea freight alone exceed a quarter of the total. Add to that the costs of long voyages, and one gold coin worth of food shipped out of Lordaeron can only fetch at least three gold coins in Theramore, which is far too expensive and unaffordable.
Jaina had long planned to grow crops, but the problem was that Dustwallow Marsh was not suitable for growing crops. It was full of wet swamps inhabited by creatures such as swamp lizards and slimes.
Of course, these are nothing compared to the Black Dragon, which is the most terrifying.
At least a thousand young dragons and thousands of dragonkin are entrenched in the Dustwallow Marsh, threatening the safety of Theramore.
The most terrifying one, of course, is Onyxia.
In the Battle of Dire Maul, the black dragons and dragonkin of Dustwallow Marsh suffered at least a third of their losses. Onyxia was also killed by King Varian, and her dragon head hung on the walls of Stormwind City. Jaina finally made up her mind:
To quell the black dragons, dragonkin, Ogres, and other monsters in Dustwallow Marsh, please ask the Druid for help in using magic to transform the land and develop agriculture.
Jaina had a wide circle of friends and a good relationship with Malfurion and Tyrande, so she received some help, though not much.
When Jiang Jie and Aegwynn arrived, Jaina had just returned from outside.
Congratulations, Nicholas, on having both a son and a daughter.
Jaina's gaze towards Jiang Jie was slightly complicated, but she quickly regained her composure, then bowed to Aegwynn and said, "Teacher, you're early. The others haven't arrived yet. The meeting starts tomorrow, so please rest first."
She quickly led Jiang Jie and the others to a residence.
It's not bad, considering Jiang Jie and Aegwynn's special status; they're staying in the best places.
Jaina.
Jiang Jie suddenly asked, "How's the situation on the Horde side? I heard Thrall has been accepting tens of thousands of Orcs from the Eastern Kingdoms. My spies told me that Vol'jin went to Zandalar?"
"Maintain stability for now."
When the situation was brought up, Jaina's expression turned serious.
She was no longer the genius female mage she was three years ago, but the Highlord of Theramore, a regional leader who was almost on par with the leaders of various countries.
She has changed a lot in both strength and temperament. The only thing that hasn't changed is that, probably because they fought side by side at Mount Hyjal, she has a good relationship with Thrall and her opinion of the Orcs remains the same...
They are much better off than the average person.
She was, after all, a princess who had never experienced the Orcs wars, and a good student who buried herself in her studies in an ivory tower.
The bloody war between the Alliance and the old Horde back then was more terrible, bloodier, and longer-lasting than the Scourge not long ago, and it also accumulated more hatred.
she...
It's still too simple.
In recent years, Jaina has been using her special status and Theramore's unique geographical location to maintain harmony between the Alliance and the Horde, and has gained the support of many people, such as Tirion Fordring, who has a very good relationship with the Orcs " Eitrigg ".
However, she also faced opposition from many people, especially her father, Admiral Daelin.
After the Northern Expedition ended, Admiral Daelin once wanted to lead the Kul Tiras fleet to attack the Echo Isles and even Orgrimmar. He also built a castle called " Tiragarde " in the south of Durotar and has been at odds with the Horde ever since.
However, in the end, due to Jiang Jie and Fenna's dissuasion, the agreement was not reached.
Jiang Jie wasn't as naive as Jaina. He knew very well that the hatred between the Horde and the Alliance wasn't so easily erased. He knew that this antagonism and hatred would last for at least several decades or even centuries, or even longer. Even if it was suppressed now, a larger war, a war of life and death, would break out in the future.
But that's in the future.
He only wanted to preserve the strength of the Alliance and the Horde as much as possible, because even more terrible wars awaited them.
Therefore, when Thrall sent people to fetch the remaining Orcs from Arathi Highlands, Jiang Jie did not stop him.
However, not stopping it does not mean not taking precautions.
In fact, a group of members of the Assassins' League had been closely monitoring Durotar and the Echo Isles.
No unusual activity in the Horde could escape his eyes and ears.
Thrall gradually accepted over 50,000 Orcs. These Orcs were scattered throughout Durotar and the Barrens, while the Quilboar were driven to the Barrens Razorfen and Razorfen Downs in the southern Barrens, supposedly with the intention of resurrecting the boar Demigod to fight against the Horde.
Jaina frowned slightly, lost in thought. "I don't know if Vol'jin went to Zandalar, but he's having a tough time... You might not know, but something happened to the Darkspear Tribe. Some of the Darkspear Trolls left Echo Isles and are living in Sen'jin Village."
Fifty thousand Orcs?
Orcs are all soldiers. Anyone who is not an infant can take up arms and go to the battlefield. As long as they are adults and not too old to move, they are qualified Warrior.
Of the 50,000 Orcs, there must be at least 20,000 to 30,000 Orcs Warrior, right?
That's no small amount; Thrall's abilities are truly formidable.
As for the Darkspear Trolls...
Something happened?
Jiang Jie raised an eyebrow. " Zalazane betrayed us?"
You know?
Jaina glanced at Jiang Jie with some surprise.
She had only just received the news herself, and she was quite surprised that Jiang Jie, who was on another continent, also knew about it.
This familiar man now looks so unfamiliar.
Jiang Jie did not answer.
Zalazane's defection seems to have come later than expected, probably because Vol'jin and a portion of the Darkspear elites participated in the wars to conquer Zul'Gurub and Zul'Aman, and their popularity was high, so Zalazane had to prepare for a longer period of time.
Zalazane is a remarkable Troll Witch Doctor, a dark Witch Doctor not much less skilled than the Jin'do the Hexxer.
He and Vol'jin were close friends since childhood, but he ultimately betrayed him, using dark magic to strip other Troll of their free will and forcing them to obey his commands.
The Darkspear Trolls were originally a small tribe with only a little over two thousand members.
After Zalazane's betrayal, Vol'jin and the others were actually driven out. Clearly, the Darkspear Trolls who still retained their own will were even fewer than those controlled by Zalazane; there were probably only a thousand left.
In other words, although the Darkspear Trolls are part of the Horde, in reality, any elite Orcs force could wipe out the Darkspear Tribe.
Vol'jin's identity is rather awkward.
He's really having a tough time right now.
However, this means the Darkspear Trolls are unlikely to participate in the attack on Ahn'Qiraj, which is not good.
" Jaina, I know you and Thrall have a good relationship, but we still need to be cautious. Have a good talk with your father. The naval fleet in Theramore should continue to expand, ideally controlling the entire coastline of Durotar. You understand what I mean."
Jiang Jie thought for a moment, then stood up. " The Great Empire of Zul, established by the Troll in ancient times, once defeated the extremely powerful Aqir Empire with the strength of a single race. The current Ahn'Qiraj is only a third the size of the Aqir Empire. The Troll must have a way to deal with the Qiraji. I'm going to Sen'jin Village to see Vol'jin!"
