" Arthas! I know that kid now! The moment he slaughtered the uninfected inhabitants of Stratholme, he fell! He betrayed the Holy Light and his nation! His people!" Uther gritted his teeth. "But I still don't believe he would Devastation this country! It's impossible! Jaina was right, everything that kid did was for Lordaeron and his people! Even though he himself didn't know he was wrong!"
"Then let the facts speak for themselves." Jiang Jie had no interest in arguing with an old man with a white beard. Instead, he turned to Princess Calia, the only person who trusted and relied on him. "Please have Lord Korth'azz lead a contingent of Gryphon Rider to scout the sea northwest of Tirisfal. Once you spot Prince Arthas's fleet, you must find out exactly what's on board!"
It's incredibly difficult to convince Uther and the others that Arthas has fallen and become a Death Knight. These people won't learn their lesson until they see the truth. Jiang Jie isn't a king, a crown prince, or some powerful duke or marquis; he's standing here speaking to these important figures because Princess Calia trusts him.
At times like this, he can't argue vehemently, because it's pointless.
"I'm going too! I want to see for myself what Arthas has become!" Uther exclaimed.
"Then I'll go too." Jaina's gaze was resolute; she wanted to face her lover.
"Lord Uther is blessed by the Holy Light and has the strongest perception of evil. Miss Jaina's spellcasting abilities are very strong, and her mastery of Teleport is probably no less than that of Archmage Antonidas, is it?" Jiang Jie nodded and said, "Having both of them here is naturally the best. However, we still need to be careful. I'm afraid our prince is... not what he used to be!"
"I am his mentor! I know better than you how capable that kid is!" Uther rarely showed anger, unlike his usual gentle demeanor. This reminded Jiang Jie that he was the leader of the Order of the Silver Hand, a dignified old man in his sixties.
However, Jiang Jie knew that Uther's anger was not directed at him, but at Arthas!
Jiang Jie shrugged at Uther's inexplicable confidence, only sneering inwardly.
Lightbringer, your student is no longer the same! With the power bestowed upon him by the Lich King Ner'zhul, he is now a Legendary Death Knight. Add to that the runeblade Frostmourne that can Frostmourne the dead, and you are no match for him!
Even if you and Jaina combined, you're no match for him!
Soon, Uther, Jaina, and Lord Korth'azz left, for they were in a hurry and could not wait even a second longer.
"It's no use saying anything now. Let's wait for news from Lord Uther and Miss Jaina." Jiang Jie looked at Calia: "Your Highness, what's the status of my suggestion from a week ago?"
Jiang Jie suggested that Gavinrad Doom, the vice-leader of the Order of the Silver Hand, find Kel'Thuzad's body and burn it during the purification of Andorhal. This way, Kel'Thuzad would not be able to resurrect in his most perfect form, thus eliminating a formidable enemy.
Calia rubbed her eyes, then shook her head uncertainly, saying, " Andorhal is too big; it's impossible to tell which corpse is Kel'Thuzad's. Gavinrad burned all the plague corpses; it should be fine now, right?"
Jiang Jie shook his head slightly, a shadow falling over his heart.
Indeed, some things are hard to change.
Kel'Thuzad's body was likely buried by some Cult of the Damned, making it very difficult to find. Andorhal is a large town, such a vast place; to find Kel'Thuzad's body, one would need the person who buried him to lead the way, otherwise it would be impossible.
Arthas will surely find it, for Kel'Thuzad's soul will guide him.
As long as the corpse exists, Kel'Thuzad can be resurrected in the Sunwell in the form of a high Lich.
In the original history, resurrection required a so-called "special urn," but in reality, that was just a trick to push Arthas further into depravity, extinguishing his humanity and kindness; it was actually unnecessary.
Jiang Jie felt a wave of weakness wash over him.
Many things cannot be changed. Arthas had to become Death Knight, the second Lich King; Illidan had to become Demon Hunter, the Lord of Outland. These were all predetermined. If anyone tried to change them, the Bronze Dragons, who had been watching from the shadows, might just jump out.
Key milestones in the timeline cannot be changed, but minor milestones may be.
For example, perhaps Lordaeron could have avoided falling?
Jiang Jie was uncertain, but he was trying; he was attempting to change things, though it was difficult.
" General Marcus will be in full charge of Lordaeron's defenses; he's very experienced in this area. General Hemet and his Dwarves musketeers will go to Hearthglen and Chillwind Camp to assist in purifying the Undead there." Calia looked exhausted. "I have to go see my father. His health is deteriorating, and I'm really worried... he won't last much longer!"
The order to leave had been given, and the two generals quickly departed, but Jiang Jie stayed behind.
He is now Princess Calia's advisor, and they have a close relationship. Some things are not suitable to be discussed in front of so many people and can only be talked about in private.
"Your Highness, consider emigration. The Scourge Plague have spread, and the Darrowmere region is basically destroyed. Hundreds of thousands, even millions, of people will be homeless. How many people can Lordaeron shelter? Half a million? Eight hundred thousand? Impossible." Jiang Jie looked at the princess before him. She was extremely haggard from the heavy burden of government affairs, completely unlike the pampered princess she used to be.
"Immigrants? Gilneas and Kul Tiras won't accept us. To Kingdom of Stormwind? That's too far. We don't have any ships left. Lordaeron took all of Arthas's fleet!" Princess Calia sighed.
She's now incredibly troubled by her brother, who's such a burden to both his father and sister.
" King Varian will be willing to accept some of them. The Westfall is vast and sparsely populated, with plenty of land to cultivate. The Defias Brotherhood not a concern; a regular army of two or three thousand men can wipe them all out! Ships are not a problem; if there's no fleet, there are merchant ships and fishing boats. As long as we don't go into the deep sea, sailing along the coastline shouldn't be a problem. If all else fails, we can negotiate with Kul Tiras, requesting support or purchasing ships. Princess and Jaina can discuss this; her influence in Kul Tiras is almost as strong as Arthas's in Lordaeron."
Jiang Jie nodded and said, "Moreover, we don't only have one option. There's a main road in the Darrowmere region that leads directly to Alterac and Hillsbrad Foothills. That area can accommodate quite a few people; just have the Order of the Silver Hand escort them. Fenris Isle in Lake Lordamere is large enough to hold 100,000 to 200,000 people without any problem. Dalaran doesn't value that place much, so send someone to negotiate with the Kirin Tor Council! If all else fails, let the refugees go with Jaina to Kalimdor!"
