Chapter Summaries

Jiang Jie borrowed the Tear of Elune from Tyrande to strengthen himself and help awaken Freya, then returned to the Halls of Valor to learn that Uther had defeated Hyrja and Fenryr. He went to see whether Uther could also overcome God-King Skovald.

• Jiang Jie reached the Temple of the Moon Goddess in Val’sharah and found Tyrande.
• Jiang Jie explained that he needed the Tear of Elune to strengthen his body and soul, seal the Tomb of Sargeras, and awaken Freya to help fight Xavius.
• Tyrande lent Jiang Jie the Tear of Elune, and he swallowed it in his Divine Dragon Form.
• Jiang Jie flew to the Halls of Valor and asked Jotun about Uther’s progress.
• Jotun reported that Uther had defeated Hyrja and Fenryr and gone to Odyn’s temple.
• Jiang Jie and Jotun went to see whether Uther could pass the next trial against God-King Skovald.

Jiang Jie arrived at Odyn’s temple as Uther prepared to fight God-King Skovald for the Aegis of Aggramar. Odyn accepted Jiang Jie’s proposal to make the shield part of the contest, and it appeared between Uther and Skovald.

• Uther prepared to battle Skovald after Odyn’s rules left no other way to prevent the Vrykul king from claiming the Aegis.
• Jiang Jie arrived with Jotun and reassured Uther, who believed Jiang Jie could handle Skovald and Odyn.
• Jiang Jie assessed Odyn’s power and recognized Eyir’s connection to the Aegis and Tyr’s power.
• Skovald invoked Odyn’s rules to warn Jiang Jie against challenging him in the temple.
• Odyn agreed that presenting the Aegis did not violate his rules, and a golden shield appeared between Uther and Skovald.

Uther gained the Fist of Tyr and the Aegis of Aggramar, defeating God-King Skovald and becoming a demigod and Lesser Titan Keeper. Jiang Jie then proposed attacking Helheim and rebuilding Azeroth’s Titan system.

• Jiang Jie let Uther take the Fist of Tyr, and the relic’s power deepened Uther’s connection to Tyr and the Holy Hammer of the Silver Hand.
• Uther charged God-King Skovald and defeated him, while Skovald left the Halls of Valor after accepting a mysterious voice’s offer.

God-King Skovald traveled to Helheim to join Helya, while Jiang Jie gathered Odyn’s forces to confront her at the Maw of Souls. Uther used the Holy Light to push back the mist, revealing an enormous Kvaldir host as the battle began.

• Skovald boarded Habrulon’s Naglfar and followed the cursed souls toward Helya in Helheim.
• Jiang Jie told Odyn he had help against Helya, and Odyn agreed to cooperate with the ally Jiang Jie meant.
• Hyrja and Hymdall led eight hundred Val’kyr and Valarjar to the Maw of Souls with Jiang Jie.
• Jiang Jie asked how to clear the mist, and Uther used his three artifacts and the Holy Light to drive it back.
• Thousands of Kvaldir emerged from the mist and charged, beginning the battle.

Jiang Jie and his allies invaded Helheim, where Odyn’s forces fought the Kvaldir and Jiang Jie confronted Helya’s servants. After reaching Helya’s throne, Jiang Jie stood before the ruler of Helheim.

• Hymdall led Odyn’s forces against King Ymiron while Jiang Jie advanced toward Helya.
• Jiang Jie struck Helya’s projection, then boarded the Naglfar with Jotun and Uther as Habrulon guided them into Helheim.
• Uther intercepted the fallen God-King Skovald, and Jotun confronted Helya’s three-headed hound, Guarm.
• Jiang Jie crossed the Path of Decay and reached Helya’s throne, where she watched him.

Jiang Jie used the five Pillars of Creation to break Helheim’s power and face Helya in a battle between two high-tier demigods. As Odyn watched from the Halls of Valor, Uther and Jotun recognized that the fight was beyond their ability to join.

• Jiang Jie invoked the Hammer of Khaz'goroth, the Tide Stone of Golganneth, the Tear of Elune, the Eye of Aman'Thul, and the Aegis of Aggramar, combining their powers against Helya.
• The artifacts erased Helheim’s mist and weakened Helya by stripping away the strength she drew from the realm.
• Helya summoned the Kvaldir, but the artifacts’ power reduced any who approached Jiang Jie to ash.
• Jiang Jie and Helya gathered their powers for a decisive battle while Odyn watched from the Halls of Valor.
• The artifacts’ power weakened Guarm and God-King Skovald, while Jotun stopped Uther from joining Jiang Jie’s fight.

Jiang Jie studied the Shadowlands, then helped restore T'uure and combined it with Xal'atath to create the true Light and Shadow Taiji. After giving Anveena the Hammer of Khaz'goroth, he prepared to head to Ulduar and begin the final campaign.

• Odyn brought the Halls of Valor over Helheim to purge its power, while Jiang Jie asked him to preserve Helheim and studied the Shadowlands using Helya's shattered soul.
• Jiang Jie traveled to Oshu'gun, where K'ure and Velen had gathered T'uure's fragments, and restored the ancient Naaru through the Light and Shadow Taiji.
• After studying T'uure's knowledge, Jiang Jie merged Xal'atath with the Taiji, creating a more complete Light and Shadow Taiji and reaching the strength of a High-tier Demigod.
• Jiang Jie told Velen to prepare for the counterattack on Argus, then visited Anveena at the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj and gave her the Hammer of Khaz'goroth.
• Jiang Jie and Anveena set out for Ulduar.

Jiang Jie reunited Thorim with the Tide Stone of Golganneth, restoring Thorim’s full power and setting the assault on Ulduar in motion. As the allied forces began their coordinated attacks, Jiang Jie and Odyn entered Ulduar.

• Jiang Jie waited with Anveena at the Temple of Life for Odyn and Thorim to arrive.
• Thorim learned that Odyn had come to lead the fight against Loken and vowed to avenge Sif.
• Jiang Jie returned the Tide Stone of Golganneth to Thorim, restoring his original power.
• Thorim planned to lead the Storm Giants against the Halls of Lightning while Jotun and Uther attacked the Halls of Stone.
• Odyn sent Hymdall, Hyrja, and eight hundred Val'kyr and Valarjar to intercept Loken’s iron army as the allies began their assault.
• Jiang Jie and Odyn teleported to Ulduar, where its sealed gates opened and Jiang Jie stepped inside.

Jiang Jie entered Ulduar with Odyn to awaken the Titan Keepers corrupted by Yogg-Saron, using the Tear of Elune to free Freya and the guardians in the Conservatory of Life. Freya and the Conservatory’s inhabitants regained their senses, while Odyn and Anveena went to awaken other Keepers.

• Jiang Jie and Odyn bypassed Ulduar’s Iron Legion and reached the Inner Sanctum undetected.
• Odyn defeated Aurliaya and restored her senses, then set out to awaken Mimiron.
• Anveena went to awaken Hodir while Jiang Jie headed for the Conservatory of Life.
• Yogg-Saron’s deception made the Conservatory’s guardians mistake Jiang Jie for an enemy, and they attacked him.
• Jiang Jie used the Tear of Elune to dispel Yogg-Saron’s influence and awaken the guardians and treant elders.
• Jiang Jie reached Freya, whose mind and the rest of the Conservatory were restored by the Tear of Elune.

Freya and the other Titan Keepers restrained Yogg-Saron while Jiang Jie fought through the Twilight creatures guarding his prison. Inside, Jiang Jie found a Vrykul-like woman where Yogg-Saron should have been.

• Freya told Jiang Jie that she and the other Titan Keepers would restrain Yogg-Saron while he faced the danger ahead.
• Odyn, Anveena, Freya, Mimiron, Thorim, Hodir, and Uther gathered at the temple hall, and the seven joined their power to force Yogg-Saron's escaping influence back into his prison.
• Thorim returned with Loken's head and warned that Algalon would come to reshape Azeroth, while Odyn claimed he would persuade the Observer.
• Jiang Jie entered the assembly hall and destroyed the awakened Twilight creatures and General Vezax before reaching the prison.
• Jiang Jie entered Yogg-Saron's prison and found a Vrykul-like woman at its center instead of the Old God.

Jiang Jie exposed Yogg-Saron’s illusion, destroyed the Old God’s brain, and helped the Keepers prepare to repair the Titans Prison. He learned that Anveena had been chosen as High Keeper and left to meet Shaohao and the four August Celestials.

• Jiang Jie recognized Sara as an illusion and cut her down, revealing Yogg-Saron beneath the prison.
• Yogg-Saron dragged Jiang Jie into a mental vision, but Jiang Jie found and destroyed his brain, defeating him while leaving his vast body sealed within Azeroth.
• Odyn and the other Keepers prepared to repair the Titans Prison, while Jiang Jie went to the Conservatory of Life and the Keepers spoke with Algalon.
• Anveena and Freya told Jiang Jie that the Titans were not completely dead, and Jiang Jie explained that the allies would need to prepare for a counterattack on Argus.
• Jiang Jie told Freya to find a way to contact Eonar, while Anveena said the Keepers had chosen her as High Keeper.
• Jiang Jie set out for Pandaria to meet Shaohao and the four August Celestials.

Jiang Jie drew out and destroyed the Seven Sha within himself, then pursued Emperor Shaohao’s remaining Sha across Pandaria. After freeing Old Chen from the Sha of Pride and leaving the Heart of Y'Shaarj in Shaohao’s care, Jiang Jie traveled to the Isle of Thunder to pursue the Eight Trigrams Realm.

• Jiang Jie summoned the Monkey King and the four August Celestials, drew out his seven negative emotions, and destroyed each Sha, reaching the high-tier demigod level.
• Jiang Jie hunted down and destroyed Emperor Shaohao’s remaining Sha throughout Pandaria, including the Sha of Pride that had possessed Old Chen.
• Jiang Jie freed Old Chen from the Sha of Pride, learned that Old Chen had sought the Heart of Y'Shaarj, and asked Shaohao to keep the Heart safe.
• Jiang Jie traveled to the Isle of Thunder, sensed how its power resonated with the Eight Trigrams, and entered the Throne of Thunder.

Jiang Jie fought his way through the Throne of Thunder, destroying its monsters and Mogu guardians while freeing the August Celestials’ stolen spiritual essence. He reached a hidden chamber and found the sleeping Highkeeper Ra, his true reason for coming.

• Jiang Jie entered the abandoned caves, killed Tortos and Megaera, and freed the Cloud Serpent’s soul.
• Jiang Jie destroyed Ji-Kun, Durumu, Primordius, and the other monsters he encountered in the Throne of Thunder.
• Jiang Jie destroyed the Dark Animus, shutting down the anima golems it controlled.
• Jiang Jie killed Iron Qon and freed the August Celestials’ spiritual essence from the Hall of Kings.
• Jiang Jie defeated the Mogu Twin Consorts, freeing another portion of the August Celestials’ essence.
• Jiang Jie found a sealed chamber beneath the Hall of Flesh-Shaping and addressed the sleeping Highkeeper Ra.

Jiang Jie used Ra’s artifacts to depose the Elemental Lords of Air and Fire, install successors, and turn to Deepholm to confront Deathwing. With Anveena and Therazane at his side, he entered the Stonecore, where Deathwing was hiding.

• Anveena told Jiang Jie that Highkeeper Ra had approved her as the new High Keeper, and Jiang Jie obtained the Fist of Ra-den and the Shield of the Supreme Keeper.
• Jiang Jie defeated the Conclave of Wind and Al’Akir with Prince Thunderaan and Aishir, then witnessed Thunderaan become the new Elemental Lord of Air.
• Jiang Jie traveled to the Firelands, killed Ragnaros, and installed a new Fire Elemental Lord.
• Jiang Jie and Anveena joined Therazane in Deepholm to confront Deathwing, who was hiding in the Stonecore.
• Therazane sent her earth elementals to fight Deathwing’s servants as she led Jiang Jie deeper into the Temple of Earth.

Jiang Jie and Anveena reached Deathwing in the Stonecore before he could destroy the Pillar of the World, and their combined assault drove him into the lava. Meanwhile, Odyn’s Titan Keepers and their forces surrounded N’Zoth’s City of Despair, leaving both Old God threats on the brink of defeat.

• Jiang Jie and his companions fought their way through the Stonecore, while Therazane took on Ozruk and another demigod dealt with Slabhide.
• Jiang Jie found Deathwing still forging Elementium Armor, with much of his body uncovered and his full strength not yet restored.
• Deathwing attacked Jiang Jie and tried to bring about the Cataclysm, but Jiang Jie’s punch stopped him from reaching the Pillar of the World.
• Anveena transformed into a giant Stone Giant and joined Jiang Jie in battering Deathwing into the lava lake.
• Neptulon arrived to help Jiang Jie and Anveena overwhelm Deathwing, who begged his master N’Zoth for help.
• Odyn and seven other Titan Keepers surrounded N’Zoth’s City of Despair with tens of thousands of Titan-forged as Neptulon and Thunderaan approached.

Jiang Jie entered the Nine Provinces Earth Immortal realm by shedding his borrowed powers and refining his body and soul through insight into life and spirit. Now stronger than the Dragon Queens and capable of taking the forms of the dragon’s nine sons, he prepared to lead the counterattack on Argus.

• Anveena left to lead the war against N'Zoth while Jiang Jie went to the Tomb of Sargeras to meet Aegwynn.
• Jiang Jie and Aegwynn helped Lord Jaraxxus subdue Sargeras's armor, raising him to the strength of a High-tier Demigod.
• Jiang Jie entered the Emerald Dream, where he refined his body and soul and met Freya, who connected him with Eonar.
• Jiang Jie drew on Eonar's essence to study life, discarded his external powers, and retained only his original True Essence and Chi.
• Jiang Jie reached the Nine Provinces Earth Immortal realm and gained the ability to transform into a divine dragon and the dragon’s nine sons.
• In year 30 of the Dark Portal, Jiang Jie declared that the time had come to counterattack Argus.

Jiang Jie helped defeat the Burning Legion and seal Sargeras, then spent centuries roaming the universe with Fenna and the Wandering Isle. He eventually reached Earth, where he met the child Shen Yuan and considered taking him as a disciple.

• Illidan, the Alliance, the Horde, Velen's forces, and the Titan Keepers launched attacks across Argus while Jiang Jie and his allies rescued the Titan essences and defeated Aggramar, Kil'jaeden, and Archimonde.
• At the Seat of the Pantheon, Jiang Jie joined his power with the Titans, defeated Argus's world-soul, and pulled Sargeras back for a final battle; Jiang Jie ultimately defeated and sealed him.
• After the war, Azeroth returned to mortal rule, and Jiang Jie announced that he would take the Wandering Isle into space for anyone who wished to join him.
• A thousand years later, Jiang Jie and Fenna reached the planet he had created from shattered worlds, where their daughter Huo Huangyi chose to stay and help establish a new civilization.
• Jiang Jie and Fenna reached Earth and encountered Medivh, who had found the child Shen Yuan; Jiang Jie offered to teach Shen Yuan martial arts and recognized a resemblance to Xiao Feng.
