The savage's dream didn't last long; Su Huilan could clearly feel his Mental Power being rapidly depleted. To be honest, this dream space was indeed quite large. Although Su Huilan helped him support it to some extent, it was mainly the savage who had created the dream himself. Although the savages on the island had naturally strong Mental Power, it was clearly not enough to maintain such a large dream.
Normally, out of self-protection, human consciousness will not create a space that it cannot support, just as the brain will not allow us to exert the maximum strength of our muscles and bones in order to protect them.
Su Huilan didn't understand why this savage's dream was so vast, but now that he couldn't hold on any longer, she was unwilling to help him persevere. In any case, she already knew how to use the antidote and the location of their tribe.
She exited the savage's dream and saw Qingmu, like a silhouette pasted on the wall, in a blank space.
Qingmu withdrew his Mental Power and asked, "How was it? Is the matter finished?"
Su Huilan nodded and said, "It's done."
She told Qingmu what she had seen in her dream. Qingmu frowned, imagining the waterfall flowing backwards and the lakes at both ends of the river—yet another spatial wonder.
What kind of worlds have these guys seen?! He felt a bit overwhelmed. First, there was the savage woman's dream of lakes and seas as one, and now there are rivers flowing backwards.
"It can't be true, can it?" He rubbed his throbbing head.
Su Huilan said, "Whether it's true or not, we'll only know when we see it. Their tribe definitely has a river and a waterfall. Let's go to the lake in the center of the island to find the river first, and then follow the river upstream; we should be able to find the waterfall. Do you think it might be the stream we encountered before?"
Qingmu said, "It's possible. Let's wait for the Boss Coal to return after dawn and then go look for him together. Right now, let's save Anderson first."
They awakened Alice.
Alice slowly woke up, looking at Qingmu and Su Huilan in a daze, unable to recall what had happened. This was due to the strong Mental Power impact she had just received.
Su Huilan used her Mental Power to soothe her for a while, and she recovered. Qingmu gave her the white flowers he had picked and told him how to use them.
When Alice heard that Anderson could be saved, she cried tears of joy. She kept thanking Qingmu and Su Huilan, and vigorously wiped away the hot tears streaming down her face.
She picked the white flowers one by one, chewed the stems and leaves, and then spat them out to apply to Anderson's leg wound. She also put the small flowers into Anderson's mouth and fed him with mineral water.
However, Anderson remained in a coma, had difficulty even opening his mouth, and did not know how to swallow.
Alice had no choice but to chew the flower paste and water, then lean down and press her mouth against Anderson's. She slowly poured the flower paste and water Anderson Anderson's mouth, while gently stirring her tongue inside.
Anderson seemed to sense something, and his tongue began to move as he swallowed the flower and water mixed with Alice's saliva.
Anderson woke up in the middle of the night. His fever had subsided, and color was gradually returning to his pale face. Qingmu used a knife to draw blood from his leg twice more. The dark blood that had accumulated on his skin had faded considerably, and the wounds covered with herbs were festering, but were clearly healing.
"Thank you!" Anderson looked somewhat weak.
"No need to thank us, you should thank Alice," Su Huilan said with a smile.
Anderson turned to look at Alice and saw the tear tracks that hadn't completely dried at the corners of her eyes. His eyes also welled up, and with each glistening tear, something fiery ignited within them, colliding with Alice's gaze in mid-air. Like two clouds colliding with positive and negative ions, lightning burst forth, spreading like a spiderweb across their eyes and hearts. The light of love illuminated the darkness, dimmed the campfire on the ground, and filled the entire cave with warmth.
" Alice!" Anderson called softly.
"What?" Alice suddenly blushed slightly.
"In my entire life, I've never loved anything but fishing. I once dreamed of catching a blue whale and riding it around the world. From now on, besides my fishing rod, there's something else in my life. Alice, I hope you can come with me—" Anderson grasped Alice's hand, "To watch the sunset on the coral islands of the Maldives at dusk, to watch the sunrise on the beaches of Hawaii at dawn, to the ice caves of Alaska, to the snow cliffs of Hokkaido, and if I really do catch a blue whale, we'll ride it around the world together!"
Alice didn't know what to say. She could only feel her heart pounding. The entire cave was silent except for the sound of her heart pounding.
Su Huilan tugged at Qingmu's clothes and gestured towards the outside of the cave. Qingmu understood that she wanted him to go out with her, leaving this small space for lovers.
He added some firewood to the fire to ensure that the newly ignited love wouldn't be extinguished by the drop in temperature inside the cave. Then, he and Su Huilan went outside together.
Outside the cave, it was pitch black; there wasn't a single star in the sky, and the night was as dark as ink. The faint glimmer of light that shone from inside the cave quickly dissipated into the darkness.
Qingmu had only taken a few steps when he felt a hand grab his arm. He turned his head and saw Su Huilan's blurry figure standing beside him.
"It's too dark!" Su Huilan's voice came from the darkness.
"You're afraid of the dark?" Qingmu found it unbelievable. For Awakened beings, darkness is the least of their fears, because darkness only obscures vision but cannot block the power of the spirit. Moreover, Awakened often face darkness when entering dream space, such as the Black Box when first entering a dream or the moment when the dream collapses. This darkness is very brief, but in the timeless world of consciousness, it can sometimes feel as long as eternity.
"It's not that I'm afraid of the dark," Su Huilan said, "I'm just afraid of losing you."
Qingmu laughed and said, "Your Mental Power can stay with me the whole time, how could I possibly lose it?"
"No!" Su Huilan seemed particularly stubborn in the darkness. "I think it's more reliable to hold on with my hands!"
Qingmu felt her fingers tighten, as if she was afraid he would really run away.
He shook his head, took out a cigarette from his pocket, and lit one.
The smell of smoke lingered in the air, Su Huilan coughed softly. She saw Qingmu's face, which flickered in and out of focus with the glow of the cigarette butt, his sharp, resolute features like a portrait etched on a stone slab.
A gust of wind blew by, Su Huilan felt a little cold. She quietly moved closer to Qingmu, trying to warm herself up. For some reason, she felt a little nervous, like a thief stealing body heat.
She did feel hot, because her palms were sweating.
After an unknown amount of time, a cat's meow came from the darkness—meow!
A dark shadow darted to their feet, rubbing its slightly plump body back and forth between its four paws, like a cat suddenly seeing its owner and Tushu it hadn't seen for three days.
Qingmu and Su Huilan exclaimed with delight, " Hanran!"
