The two walked side by side along a secluded path leading deeper into Dingchuan Academy.
"Going to the landing platform?" Lu Qingxue asked, turning her head.
"Yeah."
On Landu Star, Dingchuan Academy's security classification was higher than that of the Federation government.
Leaving by spacecraft from the academy's Valley Landing Platform would avoid the eyes of many interested parties.
However, when the two silently reached the edge of the forest at the foot of the mountain, they were stopped by two figures.
"Instructor Bach?"
Mu Fan looked in surprise at the stern, crew-cut man. Beside him stood a burly man he had never seen before. The X-shaped scar over his left eye was especially conspicuous. He had a leaf hanging from his mouth and offered Mu Fan a friendly smile when he saw him. Mu Fan clearly sensed that the man should pose a powerful threat, yet whenever he shifted his gaze away, it was as though there were nothing there at all.
"I waited two days for you. Don't tell me you're leaving again." Instructor Bach's deep voice came over. If not for the Dark Department, he would probably have wasted his effort.
Still, he looked at Lu Qingxue beside him with some surprise, curious about how this star student had ended up together with Mu Fan.
"I am leaving. There's something very important I need to do."
"Then what about the upcoming academy Exchange Competition? You're this year's only Core Student." Bach raised his head, his gaze solemn. "In the tenth year, we may face a reshuffling. This is the academy's most important event this year. If possible, I hope you can come."
