Kicking Down the Door

Rong Wei slammed her hand on the table and rose to her feet. "Mu Fan, this is the Interrogation Room. We cannot accept such flippant answers from you."

Mu Fan looked innocently at the standing Rong Wei. "I barely read any books growing up. Is loving to learn a crime now?"

"You!"

Rong Wei's chest heaved violently. This boy was far more difficult to deal with than she had imagined, yet every reading on the lie detector remained steady.

That meant everything Mu Fan had said was actually true.

As for the possibility that Mu Fan was lying...

Rong Wei did not think it was very likely, because this device worked by collecting involuntary physiological responses and using them to make inferences.

Things like blood flow velocity and subtle bioelectric signals were all factors the human body could not control.

Yet she simply could not believe that what Mu Fan said was true. The other possibility was that Mu Fan could control every tissue in his body at will, which was simply terrifying.

Unfortunately, not only did they not know, no one on this planet knew that there was a special kind of energy called psionic energy.

This miraculous energy could not only allow someone to consciously control certain bodily functions, but could even forcibly replace the functions of certain blood vessels and muscles, enabling the human body to operate beyond its limits.

What they knew even less was that Mu Fan was currently completely covered in psionic energy.

With his mind suppressed into a cold, machine-like state, it was naturally impossible for any abnormal fluctuations to appear.

Seeing that they could not pry any useful information from Mu Fan's mouth, the two could only turn to physical evidence.

Following the timeline, they began fast-forwarding through the retrieved surveillance footage.
