(Fast 8 was really good. Brian at the end was such a tearjerker.)
When Theresa saw Mu Fan lightly wave at her and raise a finger to his lips, signaling her to stay quiet, she stopped in confusion and looked at him.
Then she watched Mu Fan remove the button from his chest and, under her gaze, place the "button" into his left ear.
"Mm."
"Alright."
"I understand."
Then he removed the button and pinned it back onto his chest.
Mu Fan met Theresa's slightly dazed gaze and smiled. "Captain, the people coming for me have arrived. Perhaps it's time for me to say goodbye to you all."
"What do you mean?"
"You saw it. This is a communicator. I came here to carry out a mission, with a one-month term. Now that the mission time is up, I naturally have to return."
Mu Fan did not explain any further. That was enough to clarify his origins.
"No wonder. No matter how I looked at you, you didn't seem like a private. Your skills were so good, and where did all that intelligence come from... Now it all makes sense!"
Theresa said in sudden realization.
The other party had filled in the details herself, saving Mu Fan a great deal of explanation.
"Since that's the case, I'll be leaving, Captain." Mu Fan pushed himself up from the ground and brushed the dirt off his pants.
"Aren't you going to say goodbye to everyone?"
"No. Over the next few days, just wait patiently for contact from division headquarters. We'll meet again if there's a chance."
They were comrades who had met by chance yet shared the same spirit. He was only a passerby; there was no need to make it into some heartrending farewell.
"Then where are you going?"
