Background / History

Family and Early Responsibilities

Qin Sili’s father and Lu Chiyan’s father were close friends who died together in a car accident. Qin Sili subsequently brought twelve-year-old Lu Chiyan into the Qin household and arranged for him to attend the same school so he could look after him 1 31.

Qin Sili officially began taking over the family company at eighteen, while still in his final year of high school. Facing skeptical directors and deliberate obstacles, he divided his time between schoolwork and company operations, sleeping only four hours a night. After several months, the strain made him ill 250 251.

He later maintained control of the Qin Group despite rivals who underestimated his youth and attempted to undermine the company. Their attempts ended badly, establishing his reputation for ruthless business methods 208.

Looking After Lu Chiyan

During Lu Chiyan’s first year of middle school, Qin Sili collected him from a gas station after a fraudulent summer-camp agency stranded the children. Although angry that Lu Chiyan had lied about his plans, he relented when Lu Chiyan appealed to him as his only remaining family 31 32.

When fifteen-year-old Lu Chiyan developed a severe fever, Qin Sili stayed beside him for three days and nights with almost no sleep. He then learned to cook at Lu Chiyan’s request, returning home from university each day to prepare meals during his recovery. Afterward, he hired two additional chefs so that three chefs could rotate their cooking 74 75.

Their relationship deteriorated when Lu Chiyan’s personality changed and he became devoted to Duan Linfeng. Qin Sili opposed the relationship, while Lu Chiyan blamed Qin Sili’s father for his own father’s death and eventually moved out. The text clarifies that this hostile behavior resulted from Lu Chiyan being forced to follow the novel’s plot after losing his own consciousness; Qin Sili had always loved the awakened Lu Chiyan 1 2.

His composure is far less secure around Lu Chiyan. Compliments, affectionate nicknames, and expressions of attachment make him blush or lose his usual confidence. He nevertheless tries to conceal these reactions, even switching Lucky off when the robot identifies his racing heartbeat as romantic excitement 4 5 14 15.

His devotion is practical as well as emotional: he learns to cook, provides financial support, and rearranges important meetings to remain near Lu Chiyan. He is also blunt about using his influence on Lu Chiyan’s behalf, openly stating that he invested in a drama because Lu Chiyan accepted a role in it 75 146 203.

Qin Sili is intensely possessive and sensitive to perceived rejection. He becomes jealous of anonymous flower deliveries and interprets ambiguous remarks about being “good buddies” as a possible breakup. His behavior can be coercive: he uses painful kisses or bites during disagreements, insists on sharing a room, and sometimes physically overrides Lu Chiyan’s protests 99 125 137 152 168.

When confronted with the possibility that his life is scripted, he rejects the idea that his feelings are merely imposed by a novel. His eventual awakening rests on his insistence that he is an individual with his own thoughts and love for Lu Chiyan 255.

At the beginning of the story, Qin Sili is understood as the original novel’s villain because he obstructs Lu Chiyan’s relationship with Duan Linfeng. The awakened Lu Chiyan instead regards him as a benefactor. Qin Sili brings the drugged Lu Chiyan home and summons Wen Shubai rather than accepting the physician’s teasing suggestion that he personally resolve the drug’s effects 1 2 3.

Their reconciliation is complicated by Lu Chiyan’s insistence on treating him as a “real big brother.” Qin Sili repeatedly tries to emphasize that they are unrelated, while Lu Chiyan interprets his attention as brotherly care 4 61 62 86.

Accident and Separation of Consciousness

After Lu Chiyan’s accident, Qin Sili hears the real Lu Chiyan protesting while the consciousness speaking through his body rejects him. Recognizing that the two voices do not match, he seeks medical explanations and continues speaking to the unseen Lu Chiyan 205 206 207.

When contact disappears, Qin Sili panics and seizes the body by the throat, releasing it after Fang Zhi reminds him that it belongs to Lu Chiyan. He later works with Wen Shubai on an electrical intervention, demanding another attempt after hearing Lu Chiyan call to him despite warnings of lethal risk. Lu Chiyan subsequently returns 212 220 221.

System Rewriting and Recovery

Little I devises a replacement tragedy in which Qin Sili rejects Lu Chiyan, drives him to suicide, and eventually dies at his grave. This is the system’s proposed plot, not the outcome of their relationship 228.

During the interference, Qin Sili suffers severe head pain, loses control, and nearly strangles Lu Chiyan. On briefly regaining awareness, he releases him and cuts his own arm, fearing that he will hurt him again 226 227.

His altered personality subsequently claims to regard Lu Chiyan only as a younger brother. Lu Chiyan continues trying to reach him, and Qin Sili’s possessiveness and affection begin resurfacing before his full awakening 230 238 239 242.

While unable to wake, Qin Sili hears Little I discussing memory alteration and the possible collapse of the world. He rejects the system’s control and awakens with knowledge of the novel. Reunited, he and Lu Chiyan agree to face the uncertain future together 255 256.

Liyan Galaxy

Qin Sili funds Lu Chiyan’s new content company, Liyan Galaxy Culture Media Co., Ltd., and attends its ribbon-cutting ceremony two months later. Its first announced film project is Red Spider 260.
