Connection to Chi Yining’s Parents

Murong Xue knew Chi Jingyi and Zhong Feifei more than twenty years before their reunion. She was among a group they had rescued, remembering the seemingly impossible experience of being moved from inside a room to safety outside in an instant. Zhong Feifei had also asked her and Yan Ting to help look after Chi Yining 505.

Her affection for Chi Yining preceded the clearing of his reputation. Chi Yining later notes that, despite the trouble previously associated with his body’s former occupant, Murong Xue had never spoken against him 411 453.

Watching the Dating Show

Murong Xue watches the dating-show livestream with other guests’ parents during afternoon tea at an upscale Capital restaurant. When Lan Qing complains that Yan Guiyun is outmaneuvering Gu Chengyuan in pursuing Chi Yining, Murong Xue defends her son’s cleverness and calls the show a fair competition 97 98.

She follows Chi Yining’s accomplishments beyond the romance. Special Assistant Wen reports that he strengthened the company’s firewall and installed counterattack programs that crippled intruding competitors’ systems. Murong Xue quickly recovers from her surprise, expecting Yan Guiyun to thank him appropriately, then eagerly asks to see his calligraphy video after learning it has topped the trending list 187.

Helping Her Son’s Courtship

Murong Xue visits Yan Guiyun’s home unannounced, declaring that she has come to see her “idol,” Chi Yining. Hoping to help their relationship along, she tells Chi Yining directly that Yan Guiyun likes him terribly. The attempt backfires when Chi Yining earnestly insists that Brother Yan is a good person, leaving her laughing and looking sympathetically at her son 265.

Concerned that Chi Yining might feel confined, she asks why Yan Guiyun has not brought him home or taken him out. Welcoming Chi Yining into the Family

After the couple’s sudden marriage, Murong Xue and Yan Ting worry that Yan Guiyun might have tricked or pressured Chi Yining. Both promise to defend him if that happened. During the subsequent tea ceremony, she accepts being called “Mom,” gives him a prepared red envelope, and assures him that the Yan home is now his home 410 411.

She later sends Chi Yining information about his missing biological parents. Yan Guiyun also learns from his parents that the couple are highly capable, although their information provides no usable clues to their whereabouts 488.

Reunion and Wedding Preparations

When Chi Jingyi and Zhong Feifei return, Murong Xue initially doubts their identities because they look younger than they did over twenty years earlier. A familiar code phrase convinces her. Zhong Feifei teasingly accuses her of taking the son she was supposed to protect into her own family; Murong Xue replies that everyone had wanted the adorable, outstanding Chi Yining 505.

Discussing the upcoming wedding, she tells Zhong Feifei that Chi Yining has put up 990 million and dismisses concerns about which family either man is marrying into: their happiness together matters most. She and Yan Ting handle invitations for relatives 506 518.

She enjoys teasing Yan Guiyun and sees through his motives. When Yan Ting praises their son for showing restraint against his enemies, she counters that he merely wants to avoid trouble that would delay his return to the dating show.
