Background / History

Early Life and Fatherhood

Bai Qianhua grew up with parents who showed him little affection. His father wanted a daughter, while his mother resented him after nearly dying in childbirth. His former girlfriend, Qianqian, gave birth to Bai Xiaoze and left the child in his care. Bai Qianhua raised him alone through infancy, including changing his diapers and feeding him 34 35.

When Xiaoze reached three without household registration, Bai Qianhua arranged for his parents to register the child. Bai Qianhua is devoted to his son but struggles to explain painful family matters. His treatment of Xiaoze combines sustained care with harsh discipline. He prioritizes his son’s safety and education, but his beating and destruction of the cosplay belongings deepen their estrangement because Xiaoze does not understand what prompted them 35 37.

At work, he is approachable, composed, and considerate toward subordinates. He does not blame Xiao Lin for a traffic-related delay, intervenes when others pressure the assistant to drink, and rewards his work with three days off and paid expenses 37 38.
