In the corner next to the round table.
An elegant woman in a brown trench coat was sitting quietly on a short chair.
Her name was Diana Prince, a historian.
His profound knowledge of ancient artifacts and his secret relationship with high-ranking military officials during World War II contributed to his success.
She was also specially invited to participate in the conference as a "Special Consultant on Ancient Anomalies in History".
General Lane.
Diana's voice was calm, yet subtly persuasive, instantly drowning out the noise around the round table.
"Based on the remains at the scene, this is not a so-called 'new type of weapon'."
Upon hearing Diana's words, Lieutenant General Sam turned his head, his brow furrowed:
" Miss Prince, this is not the time to listen to fairy tales..."
Diana was not angered by Sam's dismissive attitude.
This is not his fault.
After all, apart from the highest-ranking family during World War II, no one knew her other identity—
Wonder Woman, who single-handedly thwarted the Axis Powers powers and defeated the Nazis.
She extended her gloved index finger and gently tapped it on a photograph of an Antarctica spacecraft wreckage:
"Based on some documents we have unearthed around the world, as well as the discovery of certain unusual geological structures."
Traces of such 'third parties' have appeared on Earth in the early stages of human civilization and in prehistoric ruins.
"These dark green metals, and the terrifying radiation fluctuations detected in Hector."
This is also vaguely recorded in some Ancient Greece Mesopotamia texts.
They are often accompanied by Riot and loss of control.
Diana met Sam's gaze and continued:
"Based on our reasoning, this type of substance can grow by absorbing human emotions."
If we continue to interfere using conventional methods...
Even the brutal 'research' conducted at the Nevada site could lead to a much larger disaster.
Upon hearing this, the high-ranking officials at the round table exchanged bewildered glances.
Diana's words were actually quite ambiguous; she didn't directly use any suggestive terms.
She was merely offering a tactful warning from the perspective of a professional historical consultant.
As early as 30,000 years ago, human civilization was still in the Paleolithic Age.
A child named Darkseid (who was called Uxas at the time, but is mentioned here to avoid confusion) from Apokolips led an army to invade Earth.
Darkseid was eventually defeated by the combined forces of the Old Gods, Amazons, Atlantis, and the Green Lantern Corps.
It was around that time that the Green Lantern Corps popularized the system of the "emotional" Spectrum to everyone.
Among them, the most rampant.
It originates from the " Parallax " entity and is derived from the "fear" energy in the Yellow Spectrum.
"Whether it's some prehistoric relic or some damn alien monster!"
Sam Ryan rudely waved his hand, interrupting Diana:
"There's definitely something hidden in that farmland! We must mobilize the army immediately, with enough elite troops and heavy weapons, and then—"
"And then go to your deaths, General?"
Just then, a sudden female voice came from the back of the conference room, interrupting Sam.
Everyone turned to look.
That was a bloated, obese, dark-skinned woman with serpentine eyes.
Holding a thick, black document, he walked unhurriedly to the head of the round table.
Amanda Waller, watch your temper!
Sam Ryan glared at her.
"Measures?"
The woman named Amanda Waller Waller sneered and slammed the file in her hand onto the round table with a "thud."
"That damn monster in Nevada... our heavy infantry can't even pull the trigger."
The mysterious force field from Kansas instantly crushed most of the convoy, turning it into scrap metal.
"I would like to ask... General?"
"Traditional military forces are no different from toys in the face of these 'extraordinary' events."
Amanda Waller stared disdainfully at each of the high-ranking officials present:
"If we send regular troops to Kansas."
Aside from triggering a new, unknown disaster and giving the media a whiff of trouble... it serves no other purpose.
"And what's your opinion, Waller?"
A Department of Defense representative, arms crossed, asked in a deep voice.
My opinion is actually very simple.
Amanda Waller slowly opened the document in her hand, revealing several project names stamped with red seals and highlighted in red:
"TASK FORCE X ( Task Force X )"
"We need an 'irregular force' with no unit designation, no records, and whose deaths anywhere will go unnoticed."
Amanda Waller's voice sounded particularly assertive in the silence:
"Let's go ahead and exploit those scoundrels, lunatics, and hardened criminals waiting to die in prison."
Go and help us with these kinds of dirty jobs that are inconvenient for us to do ourselves.
"Therefore, I also call it -- the Suicide Squad."
Upon hearing Amanda Waller's words, Sam slammed his hand on the table and roared:
"You're insane, Amanda Waller! You actually want a bunch of death row inmates and thugs to do our job?!"
"Utterly absurd!"
"Oh... they're not ordinary death row inmates, General."
Amanda Waller remained expressionless and turned to the first page of the document.
A file was prominently displayed above:
"Army Special Forces Major Rick Flag, he implanted controlled explosives in the necks of these death row inmates."
That way, we can tightly control these mad dogs and make them obediently do things for us.
"They're death row inmates, so it doesn't matter if they die..."
If he's still alive, the only things he'll get are a reduced sentence or some meager reward...
Next came several neatly arranged prisoner files.
Floyd Lawton, codenamed " Deadshot," was America's most fearsome marksman...
He could even hit a fly's left eye with pinpoint accuracy from a kilometer away.
George Harkness, codenamed " Captain Boomerang," is a thug from Australia's special black market.
"Ben Turner, codenamed ' Bronze Tiger,' is a world-class fighter."
As she spoke, Amanda Waller Waller closed the file, placed her hands on the table, and her bulky figure exuded an extremely strong sense of oppression.
"They're just a bunch of useless expendable resources."
"Before we investigate Kansas, we need this team to conduct a forward 'reconnaissance' in Kansas."
"If they fail, it'll just be a few escaped prisoners killing each other; it has nothing to do with us."
"The media won't find anything either."
"If they manage to grasp that 'power,' then we'll have our trump card completely."
A long silence fell over the meeting room.
Sam didn't say anything more.
"Approval is granted."
After a long silence, the representative from the Department of Defense slowly opened his eyes and finally signed the authorization document:
" Amanda Waller... don't let the fires of Kansas reach Washington."
"Of course, sir."
Amanda Waller picked up the document, glanced at Sam, a smug smile playing on her lips, and strode out of the conference room.
In the corner.
Diana Prince watched Amanda Waller's departing figure silently, then took off her glasses with a hint of helplessness and rubbed her aching temples.
Even the Green Lantern Corps had to think twice before dealing with the terrifying entity; how could human guns possibly be effective against it...?
A huge Stormfront is coming...
She sighed softly.
If humanity truly fails, she will have no choice but to break her self-imposed principle of "non-interference" and intervene again.
Hopefully... they will succeed.
