Background / History

Tang San entered Notting Academy alongside Luo Zixi. Their early association rapidly deteriorated: Tang San repeatedly acted condescendingly toward Luo Zixi and reacted angrily when Luo Zixi refused to follow his wishes. Luo Zixi ultimately declared their friendship over after Tang San tried to dictate whether he could accept Yu Xiaogang as a teacher 2 10.

His attachment to Xiao Wu shaped many of his early decisions. Tang San misread Luo Zixi's healing of Xiao Wu's injuries as improper behavior, publicly accused him, and continued to interfere in her choices. Xiao Wu rejected his interference, including kicking him after one confrontation 6 8 9.

During the Notting Academy challenge behind the mountain, Tang San entered the fight intending to display his strength for Xiao Wu. He deployed his hundred-year first Soul Ring and Blue Silver Grass Entanglement, then fought three opponents alone and won despite taking heavy blows 12 13.

Years later, Tang San encountered Luo Zixi again while with the Royal Fighting Team and Shrek's members. On hearing Luo Zixi claim Xiao Wu was dead, he lost control; Luo Zixi subsequently severed Tang San's Eight Spider Lances and took his External Soul Bone 84 85. Their feud escalated into repeated physical and emotional attacks, including the loss of an arm, the theft of his soul guide belt and Twenty-Four Bridges Under the Moonlit Night, and further severe injuries 86 98.

Tang San later learned that A Yin had been his mother in a previous life and that Xiao Wu had sacrificed herself to save Luo Zixi rather than being abducted by him. The revelations, along with Luo Zixi's accusations concerning Tang San's family, devastated him 98 107.

The Asura God intervened to preserve Tang San's life, granting him half a year of protection from Luo Zixi and sending him with Tang Chen to Sea God Island. There, Bo Saixi healed them and Tang San continued both his Sea God and Asura inheritances 109 115.

Personality

Tang San is intensely possessive of Xiao Wu during his time at Notting Academy. He repeatedly assumes hostile motives in Luo Zixi's interactions with her and reacts with anger when Xiao Wu asserts independence or gives Luo Zixi attention 6 8 12.

He is proud of his strength and seeks recognition for it, particularly from Xiao Wu. His decision to fight multiple opponents in the academy challenge is explicitly motivated by his desire to impress her 12 13.

Despite repeated defeats, injuries, and humiliation, Tang San remains determined to oppose Luo Zixi. His persistence is paired with a growing desire for revenge, which continues through his recovery on Sea God Island and his divine trials 86 106 114.

Conflict with Tang Chen and the Four Clans
