Power Progression
Spiritual Power follows different rules across worlds. Its attribute grades, numerical levels, and transformations are not a single universal progression system 798 1496 2481 3864.
Attributed Spiritual Power Grades
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Mortal Grade | 796 | Ling Yi's twelve attributes are listed at Mortal Grade except Space, which has already advanced. |
| Spirit Grade | 796 | Spatial Spiritual Power improves Ling Yi's spatial perception and compatibility, allowing him to merge into surrounding space. |
| Saint Grade | 798 | Spatial Spiritual Power passes through this grade when Ling Yi spends upgrade rewards obtained through Bai Feng. |
| God Grade | 798 | The ceiling of this four-grade system. Ling Yi's spatial power becomes more properly described as Dao, and his mixed spiritual root advances to divine grade. |
Documented Numerical Advancement
These records belong to separate systems and should not be read as a continuous increase across worlds.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Nascent Soul Stage Great Perfection | 12 | Ling Yi's panel records 320,000 Internal Energy (Spiritual Power). His lower and middle dantians contain Spiritual Power worlds or spaces. |
| Spiritual Power lv1 | 816 | 5/100; the Giant Tooth Sword supplies one point per minute despite his inability to absorb Spiritual Qi actively. |
| Spiritual Power lv2 | 817 | 135/200; absorption reaches four points per minute. Qi Shield becomes available. |
| Spiritual Power lv6 | 818 | 1,855/3,200; absorption reaches six points per minute. His skills now include Thunder and Healing. |
| Spiritual Power lv9 | 820 | 25,140/25,600; forty-one treasures provide forty-one points per minute. His available skills include Teleportation. |
| Qi Refining, First Layer | 2981 | 10 points after using a Qi and Blood Pill with the Blood Spirit Art; he also reaches Organ Refining Perfection. |
| 16 Spiritual Power | 2986 | A new Blood Spirit Art cycle, driven by the Soul Suppression Art, adds six points in one circulation. |
| Qi Refining, Seventh Level | 2997 | 72 points; the incomplete Spiritual Martial Heaven and Earth Art provides eight points per cycle, with four cycles possible daily. |
| Golden Core, First Level | 3001 | 1,358 points; the completed Spirit Martial Heaven and Earth Art takes him from Foundation Establishment to Golden Core in two hours. |
| Spirit Severing, Second Layer | 3006 | 2.2 million points, alongside Martial God Realm Great Perfection and Spirit Transformation-level Spiritual Sense. |
Qualitative Transformations
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Unnamed overbearing force | 785 | Summoning Fairy Shuiji transforms all of Ling Yi's Spiritual Power. His cultivation remains Ten Thousand Laws Return to One lv3, but his Divine Abilities cease suffering the world's suppression. |
| Divine Power of a God Tier spirit body | 1046 | Spiritual Power condenses into a stronger energy at approximately 1,000 Spiritual Power to one Divine Power. |
| Beyond God Tier | 1056 | Devouring the Heavenly Court Secret Realm's Spiritual Power advances Ling Yi's Spirit Body beyond God Tier while his main body reaches Dao Integration. |
| Chaos Seed | 1720 | After consuming vast reserves across the Nine Provinces and the power held by Nine Gods Mountain, Ling Yi's nine attribute seeds merge into a Chaos Seed. |
| Immortal Power through simulated tribulations | 2654 | A simulation produces the first wisp in the eighth month, converts ten percent after ten years, and completes conversion after a century despite Ling Yi lacking a Nascent Soul or Spirit Nascent Infant. |
| Five Elements Immortal Power → Five Elements Divine Power | 4727 | Raising the Basic Qi Refining Art to Perfection concept level causes successive transformations of his Five Elements Spiritual Power. |
Nature and Cultivation
Spiritual Qi and Spiritual Power
- Spiritual Qi is the energy of heaven and earth. In the Spirit Absorption system, it must be refined into Spiritual Power before it can be stored in the body's Qi sea and used personally 859.
- Spiritual Power is the resulting usable energy. Its properties can depend on the cultivator's spiritual root, cultivation technique, or the rules of the world 791 3864.
- Personal ownership matters: even two cultivators' powers of the same attribute differ because they carry their owners' Divine Sense 2643.
- Ambient Spiritual Power also exists: spirit bodies release it when they dissipate, and formations can gather it for cultivation 1047 1051.
- Concentration can produce visible forms: the Heavenly Court Secret Realm contains Spiritual Power dense enough to appear as ground-level mist 1056.
Refinement and Storage
| System or method | Mechanism |
|---|---|
| Spirit Absorption cultivation | Opens the lower dantian's Qi sea and refines incoming Spiritual Qi into stored Spiritual Power 859. |
| Spirit Accumulation / Thought Integration | Imprints Spiritual Power with Divine Sense. More complete fusion improves mobilization and recovery speed 859. |
| Spiritual Root conversion | A cultivation art draws in Qi; the spiritual root converts it into matching Spiritual Power. Before Qi Refining, the power opens Spiritual Veins and strengthens the body rather than being stored in an activated dantian 2643. |
| Spiritual Vein circulation | Ling Yi identifies 837 Spiritual Veins forming 702,244 circuits with the dantian. Qi undergoes different structural changes along these routes, then becomes relatively stable Spiritual Power upon entering the dantian 2229. |
| Heart-centered spiritual field | A spiritual root opens a field near the heart. Neither root nor field is physically discoverable through surgery, but the field's Spiritual Power remains accessible 4043. |
Quantity, Quality, and Realm
- Reserves need not match apparent cultivation. At Qi Refining's second layer, Ling Yi estimates his reserves exceed those of cultivators above Nascent Soul. After centuries of simulated cultivation and further dantian expansion, he still remains at Qi Refining's fourth level 2644 2649.
- Quality can multiply an existing reserve advantage. Ling Yi's five perfected Foundation Establishment spheres collectively hold fifty times an ordinary same-level cultivator's quantity; their superior quality raises the stated comparison to five hundred times 2310.
- Higher cultivation can change what determines strength. In the Spirit Severing discussion, comprehension of laws becomes more important than the amount of Spiritual Power alone 2314.
- Energy hierarchy varies. One system converts Spiritual Power into Immortal Spiritual Power during ascension, then into Divine Power upon entering the God Realm. Another places Immortal Yuan Power between Spiritual Power and Immortal Power 2025 4395.
Attributes and Special Forms
World-Specific Attributes
| Context | Documented attributes or rules |
|---|---|
| Ling Yi's twelve-attribute mixed root | Metal, wood, water, fire, earth, ice, lightning, wind, light, darkness, time, and space 791 796. |
| Nine Provinces | Ice, fire, lightning, wind, water, wood, earth, light, and darkness. Ling Yi chooses to call the local Source Power “Spiritual Power” 1715. |
| Nine-Heavenly-Venerable setting | Metal, wood, water, fire, earth, karma, reincarnation, time, and space; Attribute-less Spiritual Power is the overlooked tenth attribute 2435 2443. |
| Fantasy Alliance setting | Twelve attributes, adding creation, karmic luck, and destruction to the preceding nine. Ling Yi regards these three additions as higher-level powers requiring further comprehension 2481. |
| Ten Thousand Nascent Souls Art setting | No Spiritual Roots exist. Basic Spiritual Power is attribute-less, and techniques determine its attributed applications 3864. |
Spiritual Roots and Attribute Compatibility
- A spiritual root normally guides the conversion of Spiritual Qi into its corresponding attributes automatically 791.
- Low-grade mixed roots divide and weaken the resulting power. The example given compares a single-attribute fire strike of 100 with Ling Yi's twelve-attribute fire strike of roughly 8 at the same realm 791.
- Mobilizing conflicting attributes together can damage meridians. Even compatible combinations require divided attention 791.
- High-grade roots can overcome the disadvantages of multiple attributes; having many attributes is not inherently an advantage at low grades 791.
- The Heaven Devouring Art's Divine Rune array blurs the boundaries between Ling Yi's five elemental attributes, producing combinations such as Metal-Wood and Wood-Metal Spiritual Power. Their precise differences remain untested at that point 4711.
Divine-Grade Spiritual Power
- Spiritual Power produced by a divine-grade root inherently carries laws of heaven and earth, even without a matching technique or high cultivation realm 800.
- It is described as forbidden power and Dao principles, unbound by the world's laws 802.
- It suppresses other cultivators' Spiritual Power of the same attribute, greatly reducing their strength. It does not suppress an attribute the wielder lacks 802.
- This attribute-based divine grade is distinct from the Divine Power condensed by a God Tier spirit body 798 1046.
Attribute-less Spiritual Power
- In the nine-attribute setting, cultivators generally dismiss it as weak because it lacks specialized characteristics and requires conversion before attributed use 2443.
- Ling Yi explains that it can convert and counter Spiritual Power of any attribute 2443.
- It is difficult to retain: even without active refinement, it gradually converts into the attributes of the owner's spiritual root 2444.
- Ling Yi's proposed method of reversing attributed power first requires mastery of all nine attributes 2444.
- In another cultivation system, the Origin Spirit Formation performs this reversal. The resulting Attribute-less Spiritual Power can be devoured and refined to increase cultivation without side effects 2643.
- Ling Yi identifies its mastery as the key to Wang Chen's eventual victory over the nine Heavenly Venerables in that world's original plot 2444.
Chaos, Blood, and Origin Spiritual Power
| Form | Properties |
|---|---|
| Chaos Spiritual Power | The Purple Gold Art slowly converts attributed power into Chaos Spiritual Power, which can imitate any attribute, including time and space. Complete conversion produces a Chaos Spiritual Root and Chaos Spirit Body 2025. |
| Blood Spiritual Power | The Blood Spirit Art refines Qi and Blood into this energy. Blood Baleful Energy makes it violent and difficult to control; increasing contamination can cause irritability, extreme behavior, and eventually a slaughter-driven loss of reason 4717. |
| Origin Spiritual Power | Spiritual Power fused with World Origin power. Jian Yi refines violent Spiritual Qi into a gray energy identified by this name 4901. |
Abilities and Applications
Attacks and Defenses
- Spiritual Power can be released as sword or saber energy, compressed projectiles, armor, and shields 817 2641 4046.
- In Ling Yi's treasure-based numerical system, one point adds approximately 100 attack or 20 defense. Increasing expenditure increases the effect 817 823.
- Direct Spiritual Power techniques grow stronger with greater consumption. Divine Ability techniques instead require the power to form a spirit formation before producing effects such as Fireball or Fire Dragon attacks 4046.
- Spiritual Power structures can reproduce elemental forces and force fields. Earth Spiritual Power, for example, directly changes earth's structure to produce spikes, walls, and Earth Release 2240.
Movement and Object Control
- Sword Control can work by supplying Spiritual Power to a flying sword's internal formation 4046.
- In the cultivation system examined during Ling Yi's long simulation, Spiritual Sense controls Spiritual Power, which then moves objects. Telekinetic Divine Sense instead consumes mental power through thought force 2649.
- His treasure-granted Teleportation skill converts one Spiritual Power point into 100 meters of instantaneous movement 820.
- The Light Body Technique circulates Spiritual Power through the legs to reduce the user's apparent weight and improve mobility 2641.
Body Refinement and Martial Fusion
- Spiritual Power users can strengthen their physical bodies far beyond ordinary humans; the spirit-body setting describes no theoretical upper limit to this reinforcement 1047.
- Ling Yi spends 50,000 points to rise from an ordinary person to Core Formation Martial God using the Roaming Dragon Mental Cultivation Method 1038.
- The Blood Spirit Art and its later development refine his body alongside his immortal cultivation, leading him to call himself a Spiritual Power martial practitioner 2981 2982.
- In one simulation, fusing Spiritual Power with Dipper Power increases the latter's strength more than a hundredfold and grants perception and attack reach across ten li 3025.
- In another world, Ling Yi fuses Spiritual Power with Gang Jin and names the new energy Spirit Gang 3735.
Condensation and Formation Work
- Spiritual Power Weapon Condensation creates weapons and, through Ling Yi's experimentation, functional spirit-body anatomy, armor, and disguises 1037 1038 1041.
- Ordinary Golden Core formation compresses liquid Spiritual Power into a solid. The Five Elements Yuan Transformation Art instead channels it into treasures to create durable, usable Spiritual Treasure Golden Cores 2317.
- Spirit sword templates combine condensed Spiritual Power with internal formations. They require sufficient power, sufficient Spiritual Sense, compatible attributes, and formation construction completed in one attempt 2318.
- Formation Patterns cast with Spiritual Power can bypass the need to draw in Spiritual Qi during casting and become easier to control 1603.
- Spiritual Power magnetic fields can transmit information; Ling Yi develops a sound-transmission method through this principle 2229.
Spirit Bodies and Spiritual Power Users
Spirit bodies are energy bodies whose constituent energy is Spiritual Power. Devouring other spirit bodies allows them to advance, while returning to a physical body can bring substantial reinforcing benefits 1033 1038.
- Combat forms: Spiritual Power users can fight physically, including with technological weapons, or send their spirit bodies out to fight 1047.
- Death cycle: in this setting, ordinary people become spirit bodies after death. Destroyed spirit bodies disperse into ambient Spiritual Power 1047.
- Devouring speed: ordinary users absorb spirit bodies slowly. Jiang Hongming's Rapid Speed Devouring is a hundred times faster than normal, while Ling Yi's Spirit Devouring and Plundering can reduce the process to a thought 1048 1053.
- Cultivation cycle: Ling Yi converts absorbed Spiritual Power into Divine Power, uses it to drive the Spirit Refining Art, strengthens his Primordial Spirit, and feeds that improvement back into his Spirit Body. His unrestricted devouring ability makes this cycle unusually effective 1056.
- Limits against technology: the early Divine Spirit Cult's Spiritual Power army remains vulnerable to modern weapons despite being much stronger than ordinary people 1042.
Sources, Storage, and Devices
| Source or device | Function and limitations |
|---|---|
| Spirit stones | Supply relatively pure energy. Much may escape during absorption, but the portion successfully absorbed converts efficiently into stored power 2981. |
| Qi Gathering Pills | Can be fully absorbed but take substantial time; the cited conversion yield is only twenty to thirty percent. Wang Daquan needs a month to absorb one with his low-grade root 2981. |
| Bound spiritual treasures | Automatically absorb Qi for Ling Yi. Eighty-two first-tier treasures provide eighty-two Spiritual Power points per minute, exceeding his expenditure during battle 822. |
| Spirit Gathering Arrays | Gather ambient power for physical or spirit-body cultivation. Extremely powerful arrays can strip surrounding regions of usable energy 1051 2649. |
| Transport skill | Allows Ling Yi to remove Spiritual Power from other cultivators and absorb it. He drains thousands of Vast Righteousness Sect disciples and uses their power to strengthen his body 2165. |
| Cloud Palace | Automatically stores ambient Spiritual Power. A full reserve supports one month of flight; sufficient spirit ore allows year-round operation 3046. |
| Spirit ores | Minerals enriched by prolonged exposure to Spiritual Power; used in artifact refinement. The Immortal Martial Continent has these instead of spirit stones 3046. |
| Thought-Image Stone | Requires Spiritual Power to operate; Zhou Siyao initially cannot use it before beginning cultivation 4236. |
| Demon-Sealing Rune Gun | Condenses ammunition directly from Spiritual Power 2285. |
| Spiritual Rice | Rice grown in a level-two Spiritual Field matures in ten days and contains Spiritual Power 4319. |
Depletion and Suppression
- World suppression: ordinary Spiritual Power initially suffers reduced effectiveness in the Origin Spirit Universe; Fairy Shuiji's transformation removes that restriction without raising Ling Yi's realm 785.
- Higher-energy suppression: in one simulation, Immortal Power suppresses a newcomer's Spiritual Power strongly enough to prevent flight 3048.
- Seal failure: a pillar losing its stored Spiritual Power weakens the Demon-Sealing Grand Formation and allows demons to break through 4484.
- Regional exhaustion: Ling Yi consumes more than sixty percent of the Greater Nine Provinces' Spiritual Power over nearly two years, accelerating an age of declining cultivation in a world already consuming more than it replenishes 1720.
- Planetary exhaustion: Master Piaoyun warns that the Teleport Gate's final opening will consume Blue Star's remaining Spiritual Power. Keeping it closed would only delay dissipation for roughly ten years; sending cultivators away is her attempt to find a means of restoration 5041.
