Christopher, of course, did not refuse.
He spread the manuscript on his desk, pulled over a chair for Barry, and the two sat side by side, each flipping through the manuscript along one side.
The office fell silent for a moment as the two began to read intently.
Harry's summer vacation at the Dursley family was even harder than the previous year.
On his thirteenth birthday, Ron, Hermione, and Hagrid all sent him owl gifts.
Then came the Hogwarts notice, requiring a guardian's signature before going to Hogsmeade. Harry took the notice to Vernon, Vernon glanced at it and threw it into the trash can.
Muggle news reported on television that a prisoner named Black had escaped and was being hunted nationwide.
Christopher paused when he saw this part. "A prisoner escape? Why is this part included here?"
"Look down," Barry said.
Then Aunt Marge arrived.
She was just as fat as Dudley, but even more distressing than Dudley.
She sat in the Dursley family ' living room, teacup resting on her stomach, and uttered one sarcastic remark after another to Harry's parents.
However, no one expected Harry to lose control of his emotions. Aunt Marge's body swelled up like an inflated balloon, and she floated in mid-air.
Christopher raised an eyebrow.
He turned the page and saw the description of Harry packing his bags and fleeing Privet Drive in the middle of the night. His finger tapped the edge of the page.
"This child," he whispered, "Always leaves at the worst possible time."
Harry walked alone on the Muggle streets, the streetlights dim and the evening breeze cool.
A purple three-decker bus suddenly appeared in front of him, the door opened in front of him, and a ticket seller in a purple uniform poked his head out.
"Welcome aboard the Knight Bus, an emergency transport vehicle. I am Stan Sampak, your ticket collector."
Stan tells Harry that Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban, is a dangerous fugitive, a follower of the You-Know-Who, and is said to be targeting Harry Potter.
The bus took Harry to the Leaky Cauldron.
Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge was already waiting for him at the door. The short, stout minister did not punish him for Aunt Marge's matter, but instead allowed him to stay temporarily in the bar.
Christopher's lips twitched slightly as he turned to the next page.
" Fudge," he said, "This man did at least one good thing in this book."
"Hmm... I feel like it's only temporary," Barry said.
At the Leaky Cauldron, Harry met Ron and Hermione.
Mr. Weasley pulled him aside, his expression serious.
" Harry, swear to me, never go to Black."
"Promise me, Harry, no matter what happens—no matter what rumors you hear—don't go looking for Black."
Christopher glanced at Barry, Barry was also looking at the same page.
This statement clearly indicates that Black and Harry have some special relationship...
Barry nodded silently.
On the Hogwarts Express, Dementor suddenly appear and search the train.
As the Dementor approached Harry, Harry heard his mother's screams of death and fainted on the spot.
The newly appointed Defence Against Dark Magic teacher Lupin, intervened, using magic to drive away the Dementor and save Harry.
" Professor Lupin!" Barry exclaimed with a relieved ease as he turned to the page, "He made his move."
"He seems much more reliable than the previous Defence Against Dark Magic teacher."
Lupin used magic to drive away the Dementor and helped Harry up from the ground.
Harry was awake, but the remnants of that memory remained.
His mother's screams, his father's shouts, and that green light he would never forget for the rest of his life.
After finishing the chapter, Christopher leaned back in his chair and let out a long sigh.
" Dementor," he whispered, "Those things are terrifying."
"It's so despairing to look at..."
At the opening banquet, Dumbledore announced two new professors.
Lupin became the Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts, Hagrid became the Care of Magical Creatures professor.
During Professor Trelawney's Divination, she stared at the tea leaves at the bottom of Harry's teacup, her expression slowly turning to horror.
"It's an ominous sign," she whispered. "My child, did you see that black dog? It's a harbinger of death. An ominous sign—"
During the Care of Magical Creatures, Hagrid led out Hippogriff named Buckbeak.
Following Hagrid's instructions, Harry stepped forward, bowed, and successfully climbed onto Buckbeak's back.
Malfoy, however, deliberately provoked Buckbeak, who scratched his arm in the process.
"He's going to sue Hagrid," Barry muttered as he turned to this page.
In Lupin's Defence Against Dark Magic class, they lined up in a long queue in the classroom.
There's a Boggart locked in the closet; it will become everyone's greatest fear.
One student after another stepped forward and turned Boggart into a comical figure.
When it was Harry's turn, the wardrobe door suddenly sprang open, and a Dementor floated out.
The cold air filled Harry's lungs, and he heard his mother scream again.
But Lupin stepped forward just in time, and with a flick of his wand, Boggart retreated back into the wardrobe.
In this chapter, Snape targets Lupin at every turn, and there is an inexplicable hostility in his eyes when he looks at Lupin.
Barry said he was used to it, " Professor Snape seems to be the villain in every movie."
Sirius Black then sneaked into Hogwarts Castle.
He attacked the portrait of the Fat Lady in the Gryffindor Tower, tearing the painting to pieces and removing the Fat Lady from the canvas.
The entire Gryffindor Common Room was unusable, the entire school was on high alert, and students were temporarily arranged to spend the night in the Great Hall.
"What exactly is Black trying to do?" Christopher frowned as he turned to this page. "He's already escaped, why doesn't he run far away?"
"It's definitely related to Harry; he's probably trying to get revenge on Harry," Barry said.
During the Quidditch Match, torrential rain made visibility on the field so poor that the goal was almost invisible.
The Dementor swooped down from the sky like a swarm of giant black bats, and the crowd on the lawn screamed and scattered.
Harry fell off the broom, Nimbus 2000 was swept into the Whomping Willow by the gale, where it was torn to pieces by the branches.
Then Fred and George gave Harry a gift.
It was a folded piece of parchment, with nothing written on it.
But as long as one says, "I solemnly swear I will not do anything good," the complete layout of Hogwarts Castle will appear on the paper.
At the very bottom, there's a line of smaller text: Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, Prongs.
"Who are these four names?" Christopher frowned even more as he turned to this page.
"I don't know," Barry said, "But it sounds like there are four people."
"Or are they the nicknames of four people?"
Harry found a secret passage to Hogsmeade and slipped inside wearing Invisibility Cloak.
In the Three Broomsticks, he overheard a conversation between Fudge, Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick, and Madam Rosmerta.
" Sirius Black," Fudge said, "Was the Potters ' Secret Keeper; he was the one who betrayed the Potters hiding place to the You-Know-Who."
"And Peter Pettigrew," Professor McGonagall said in a low voice, "That poor boy. Black killed him, along with a dozen or so Muggle. The whole street was blown up."
Harry sat under the Invisibility Cloak and listened to every single word. He finally understood why his parents had died— Sirius was a traitor!
When he returned to Hogwarts, he received an anonymous package containing a flying broomstick— Firebolt.
That's the best flying broomstick in the world, far surpassing the Nimbus 2000 in performance, with top-notch speed, maneuverability, and stability.
Hermione warned Harry that it might have been sent by Black, but Harry clearly couldn't bear to part with the broom.
"Maybe it was a gift from Headmaster Dumbledore?" Harry said.
"Maybe. But it's also possible—" Hermione bit her lip, "Maybe this broom is cursed. You don't know where it came from."
Harry and Hermione had a fight.
Hermione reported this to Professor McGonagall, Professor McGonagall confiscated the Firebolt, saying she would check it for Dark Magic.
Harry was furious; he felt Hermione shouldn't have gone to tell on him, that she was just being nosy.
Hermione was also very angry. She thought Harry was too naive, risking his life for a broom.
Hermione tossed the book aside, her face still flushed, but she stood up and stubbornly faced Ron.
"Because I think— Professor McGonagall agrees with me—that broom was most likely a gift from Sirius Black to Harry!"
That concludes the article.
Christopher flipped to the last page, then flipped back again, to make sure there really wasn't anything more.
Barry also flipped through it to make sure there were no missing or folded pages.
The two of them looked up at the same time and glanced at each other.
"That's it?" Barry spoke first.
"That's it." Christopher nodded.
Chapter Eleven?
Chapter Eleven.
What happens next?
"That's all." Christopher closed the manuscript, his tone a mixture of exasperation and amusement. "That's the end of Part One."
Barry leaned back in his chair, looked up at the ceiling, and let out a long sigh.
"He Firebolt bolt here," his voice held a strained, cut-off tone. "I feel like there are still so many mysteries, how could it just disappear?!"
"Sigh, does this author have any conscience at all?"
The two men fell silent for a moment, then almost simultaneously let out the long-held wail. "Why is it so short?!"
The wailing echoed in the office, startling the interns passing by the door.
Christopher neatly stacked the manuscript again, placed it on the corner of the table, and pressed his finger against the title on the cover. The weight that had been hanging over his heart for two months finally lifted.
He looked at the words on the cover and a relieved smile curved his lips.
"I want to watch it a second time," he said.
"I want to see it too." Barry pulled the manuscript toward himself.
Why don't you go see the Scotland Highlands?
Go to your Scotland Highlands.
