After completing the game, Neville also learned that there was a trading system in the game, where the price of herbs was not fixed and depended on market demand. For example, when the Nundu was popular recently, the price of the Poison Gill Herb, which can attract and cure the Nundu, skyrocketed.
The price and profit from Shimmering Bellflower are very low; the money Neville makes from selling his Shimmering Bellflower is only enough to buy two more seeds.
Compared to other farmers, this is a huge loss.
But Neville didn't care.
The Wizarding World is full of helplessness and unexpected events; Neville doesn't care about profits or future prospects.
He simply grew his own Shimmering Bellflower.
While harvesting Shimmering Bellflower in the eighth town today, Neville saw a golden flash suddenly appear among the colorful Shimmering Bellflower.
Neville rubbed his eyes. He had only ever seen five colors of the Shimmering Bellflower he had grown for so long: red, yellow, blue, green, and purple. The gold color that appeared in the Wizard Legend lottery was something he had never seen before.
Neville abandoned the controls and stared intently at the screen, but there was no movement on it.
The bell kept ringing.
Just as Neville was about to give up, a yellow figure flashed across the screen, but Neville still saw its appearance—because it was too long, it had a long, colorful, feathery tail that was far longer than its body.
A cat-like creature, as large as an elephant, appeared on the screen and nimbly approached the Shimmering Bellflower.
It has intricate striped fur, a bushy mane, four sharp fangs curling outwards from its mouth, huge and sharp claws, and bright amber eyes.
It was Zouwu.
Neville had seen it with the homeless healers at the Eighth Treatment Center. It was said that it could warp the surrounding space to achieve near-instantaneous long-distance movement, and could even break through the spatial constraints of Anti-Apparition Jinx.
Neville held his breath and had the little man take out all the Shimmering Bellflower from his backpack, showing Zouwu the quantity of 999.
On the screen, the overlapping Shimmering Bellflower shimmered with multicolored light, and the overlapping bell sounds became even more jerky. After sniffing the flashing spirit flowers, Zouwu's huge body suddenly collapsed on the road, exposing his belly.
Neville opened his suitcase, which also contained a mountainous environment, with unharvestable Shimmering Bellflower growing inside. Zouwu tentatively scratched at the edge of the suitcase, then quickly slipped inside, his long tail trailing like a special effects effect.
[Ding! Fantastic Beasts — Zouwu— has been added to the suitcase]
[New information added to Zouwu's character list. View now?]
Neville excitedly clicked to view.
[ Zouwu, a benevolent beast, does not eat live animals, and is fond of luminous objects and the sound of drums and bells. It is fast enough to traverse space. According to ancient Eastern texts, Zouwu's presence in the world signifies a benevolent ruler governing the land, and those who see it will have their families safe and healthy, free from illness and disaster.]
Zouwu had already crawled into the suitcase. When Neville controlled the little man to enter the suitcase, Zouwu was already asleep on a boulder on the mountainside. Its mane shimmered with its breathing, a magical phenomenon that amazed Neville.
I wish my family could truly be safe and healthy.
thump--
There was a knock on the door twice. Augusta pushed the door open a crack, her joy barely concealed. It was the first time Neville had ever seen his usually composed grandmother so excited.
" Neville, hurry up and change your clothes, we're going to the hospital to visit your parents," Augusta's voice was urgent and impassioned, "This time something big might happen."
Neville reluctantly put away his Magic Mobile Phone: "What's the big deal?"
"You'll see when you get there," Augusta suddenly paused, "Oh right, your Director Lorne is waiting for us downstairs."
Neville increased his speed even further.
Lorne and his two companions arrived at St. Mungo's Hospital. In Janus Thickey Ward, Neville's parents sat on the bed. A passing nurse mechanically tried to feed them a Potions, but Lorne stopped her.
Lorne looked at Augusta, who understood what Lorne meant and said to the nurse, "We don't need to take today's medication."
The nurses didn't ask any more questions and tactfully left. In fact, they knew that St. Mungo's Hospital couldn't cure the Longbottoms ' condition; they could only maintain the vital signs of this poor couple.
Grandma Longbottom had the right to bring outsiders to try new treatments. As a nurse, she had no right to obstruct a patient's family from trying treatments she couldn't cure.
Lorne forbade the Longbottoms from drinking other Potions, fearing that some ingredient in them might counteract the Soul-Healing Potion potion's effects.
Neville stood to the side, and when he saw his grandmother stop the nurse from giving him the medicine, and then when he saw the medicine bottle suddenly appear in Director Lorne's hand, he understood something.
He held no hope. Neville knew the extent of the damage the Cruciatus Curse, one of the three great evil curses, could inflict on a person's soul; otherwise, his parents wouldn't have spent so many years at St. Mungo's Hospital without ever being cured.
But what if?
That's Director Lorne.
Lorne uncorked the Potions bottle, and a fragrant aroma of herbs wafted out.
It turns out that a perfectly crafted Potions has a wonderful fragrance, which must have been tough on Quirrell, who had to drink it with a frown.
Lorne carefully fed the Longbottoms the Soul-Healing Potion, and the process went very smoothly. Alice was currently acting like a child, but she was a good girl. Frank was even easier to handle; he sat expressionlessly on the bed and drank every last drop of whatever he was fed.
Looking at his parents, whose expressions were already dazed, Neville felt a deep sense of despair, but he still forced himself to ask, " Director Lorne, how long do we need to take this medicine?"
Lorne spoke softly, "Three."
Neville frowned. "Three years? That's alright."
"Two."
Neville: "??"
"One."
As the final note faded, the room fell silent enough that you could hear a pin drop. Even Augusta's all-seeing eyes clouded over. Neville hadn't yet recovered from Lorne's countdown when a gentle murmur reached his ears.
" Neville."
Neville slowly raised his head. Alice, sitting on the hospital bed, turned her head slightly, blinked her clear eyes, and her hands had already embraced his child before her body could react.
Neville's throat tightened suddenly; he didn't even realize when he had walked into his mother's arms. Those few steps felt like an eternity spanning more than a decade, yet they had just condensed into a single moment.
Lorne gave Augusta a slight bow, then tactfully walked outside to make room for the family reunion, while also stopping the nurse who might come to check on things because of the commotion.
Augusta grasped his arm, and the sprightly old woman suddenly appeared aged, but her eyes shone brighter than ever before. " The Longbottom family... will always..."
Lorne raised his hand to stop Augusta from choking back tears as he offered her extra compensation. He quietly read aloud the terms of the contract he and Augusta had drafted.
"Party A will only collect the corresponding amount expressly stipulated in this contract. Unless otherwise agreed in writing in this contract, Party A will not charge Party B any additional amount."
Lorne, adopting the air of a boss, patted Augusta on the shoulder. " Neville's father's condition may be a bit serious, but don't worry, he'll recover soon. The Longbottom family puzzle won't have a broken piece. Your lives, like my Magic Mobile Phone shop, are just beginning."
