Dorset.
Dumbledore had discussed with Snape the attitude towards Lorne as a variable, which was three "no's"—no to reveal it, no to support it, and no to oppose it, letting it develop naturally, but at the same time, to observe and supervise it.
After reading the in-game update on the Magic Mobile Phone, Dumbledore decided it was time to take it a step further. The other party might be a time traveler from the future, so whether he could get some key information about Voldemort from him and understand the other party's exact stance might be the key to dealing with Voldemort.
He needs to find a helper.
At first, he thought of Harry, but now he wasn't sure who Harry's heart truly belonged to. Then he thought of Snape, but after working together for three years and still only nodding acquaintances, Lorne would surely sense something was amiss if his colleague suddenly became so familiar and enthusiastic towards him.
This person should be a stranger to Lorne, preferably due to a lack of regular contact, ideally someone who can infiltrate the enemy ranks but remains loyal to him in reality.
Dumbledore immediately had the best candidate in mind.
Newt Scamander.
Regarding the matter of helping the centaurs migrate, Lorne offered to use Newt's chest, indicating that he knew Newt and that Newt wasn't a complete stranger to him. Newt's extensive knowledge of magical creatures would undoubtedly be a great help to Lorne's new game, and Lorne would certainly welcome Newt into his team. Most importantly, Newt was one of his own; he came from Hufflepuff, was known for his loyalty, and was even involved in the Grindelwald incident in Paris sixty years ago—he was someone Lorne could trust.
With this thought in mind, Dumbledore smiled with satisfaction and then knocked on the door of the cabin in front of him.
thump--
"Who is it?" A crisp, clear female voice came from inside the room. Tina, with short hair, opened the door and raised an eyebrow in surprise when she saw that it was Dumbledore. "Oh, Dumbledore, you'd better not be here to see Newt. He's been looking for a new Fantastic Beasts lately, and perhaps even you can't persuade him."
"I must beg you, Tina, let me try," Dumbledore winked at Tina, "Could I go in first? It's a bit sunny out there, it's almost given my beard a tan."
"Who is it, Tina?" A strong voice came from inside the room. Even though he was over eighty years old, Newt still walked out with an upright posture and brisk movements. " Professor Dumbledore? I'm sorry, I've been quite busy lately, and I also need the trunk, so I may not be able to help you."
"Couldn't I just be here to have a cup of tea with you?" Dumbledore raised an eyebrow, then quickly added, "Alright, I do have something to discuss with you, but perhaps you won't refuse after hearing it."
Newt was about to leave when he took a pot of tea from inside the house and led Dumbledore to sit at the wooden table outside the cabin. Newt gulped down a large cup, then filled his own. "Forgive me, Professor," he said, "But I have something extremely urgent. There seem to be signs of new Fantastic Beasts in the mountains of Dorset. There are so many Fantastic Beasts in this world that I don't know about. I just returned from Brazil with Tina not long ago, and there's a kind of rainforest fire slug there—it's truly amazing..."
"Perhaps that's why I'm here?" Dumbledore said mysteriously, revealing the exhilarating feeling of being omniscient. "Did you find glowing footprints on the mountain, and some glowing plants that were half-eaten?"
This was also one of the reasons Dumbledore came to find Newt. The descriptions of the new Fantastic Beasts in the Magic Mobile Phone were so detailed, and it even specifically mentioned Dorset. Dumbledore was almost certain that it must have originated from reality, and this was also an important basis for his deduction that Lorne came from the future.
Dumbledore of tea; now was the time to test Lorne's credibility.
"How did you know?" Newt, somewhat surprised. "I don't think I've mentioned it to anyone. Could it be that this phenomenon has also appeared near Hogwarts? If so, I definitely need to go there."
Dumbledore stroked his long, flowing white beard and chuckled, "Someone has already figured out what this new Fantastic Beasts is. I came here to recommend you go find him. However, while I know his background, I don't know his stance or how dangerous he is, so I'll need your help to keep an eye on him. Don't worry, there's a reward this time. I recently obtained a bottle of Felix Felicis, which should be helpful to your research."
Newt shook his head. "You know, Professor, I don't like communicating with other wizards, and I'm not good at it. Since he's figured out what kind of Fantastic Beasts it is, I'll naturally go and visit him to discuss it. But I can't fulfill your other requests. I can't discern his stance, and I certainly can't judge his level of danger through communication."
"I'd also like to ask, is your concern related to the You-Know-Who?"
"Yes," Dumbledore sighed. Although Newt wasn't a member of the Order of the Phoenix, he was still his ally, and Newt could share his thoughts with him. "You know, Harry is only fourteen. Voldemort could very well have returned. I must unite all forces I can, at least to confirm whether he is Death Eaters."
"So, who is he?"
"A Hogwarts staff member, and also the inventor of the much-discussed Magic Mobile Phone; he's the one who wanted to borrow your trunk before, Lorne Myles."
Upon hearing this, Newt immediately lost interest. He knew that Dumbledore would not allow a dangerous individual into Hogwarts. If the person was already a Hogwarts staff member, it meant that Dumbledore had already investigated the person's background and was at least able to control him.
"I'm sorry I can't agree to that, Professor. I will visit him myself, and if I can figure something out, I will report back to you. But if I can't, I won't ask any more questions," Newt, turning up his collar. "I'm going to the mountains now, and I'll be back before sunset. You don't need to wait for me; I'll go find him myself."
"As for Felix Felicis, since you want to help Harry, why not just give Felix Felicis to him in my name?"
Dumbledore, but Newt had already left resolutely, just as he had once entrusted Newt with a task and then disappeared without a word.
He chuckled to himself, carefully sipping the cup of tea Newt had poured for him, and surprisingly, he could actually taste a hint of wild mountain grass.
I really wish I could live a secluded life like Newt, enjoying a peaceful and carefree pastoral existence while still pursuing my lifelong ideals.
But as the only Wizarding World currently qualified to confront Voldemort, he must shoulder this responsibility to prevent that chaotic era from returning.
