"You threw it away?" Lorne couldn't help but raise his voice in surprise. "Where did you throw it?"
When Ginny was called to the General Affairs Office, she had no idea what was going on. She only froze when Director Lorne asked her about her diary.
How did Director Lorne find out?
The diary was still in her possession, but it was filled with her admiration for Harry, and even included her embarrassment and complaints about appearing in a crowd in shabby clothes and her brothers making her feel ashamed.
She didn't want anyone to see it, even though the person was Director Lorne.
"The women's restroom on the second floor of the castle." Ginny lied. Anyway, Director Lorne couldn't get in, and even if he did, he could just say he'd been picked up by someone else.
"Listen, Ginny, that diary is extremely dangerous. You know about the Chamber of Secrets being opened and Mrs. Norris being petrified, right? I don't know if you've lost that memory," Lorne told Ginny seriously, "But I can confirm that it was the owner of the diary who did it, which is you."
Ginny looked terrified and stammered, "No, I never did that."
"You may be controlled by the diary. That diary is an extremely evil magical artifact," Lorne said sternly. "Don't worry, so far you are still a victim, but if you know about it and deliberately conceal it, Hogwarts will impose severe punishment."
"I..." Ginny almost blurted out that the diary was still in her dorm room.
But she can destroy it herself... that should be fine, right?
Lorne was in a real bind.
He couldn't quite remember the specifics of the original story. Ginny did indeed leave her diary in Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom, and Harry later found it, but Lorne remembered it wasn't at that time.
So he then sought out Harry.
" Director Lorne, what do you mean?" Harry said, a little annoyed. "Why would I go to the women's restroom for no reason?"
"Don't get me wrong, Harry. I didn't say you went into the women's restroom. I was just asking if you found anything there... Okay, sorry, I believe you, Harry."
Lorne was at a loss for words; he really didn't know how to find the diary. He could only tell Harry that if he found a black diary, he should hand it in to the General Affairs Office.
I'm mentally exhausted.
The boss is neurotic, colleagues are difficult to get along with, and students are disobedient.
It's alright, he doesn't mind using some unconventional methods. All he needs to do now is keep an eye on those three people.
Ginny, Harry, Colin.
The first two are suspected owners of the diary, while Colin is the next student to be murdered in the original story.
Even the unbiased Lorne couldn't help but question the heavens: why are Gryffindor students so difficult to manage!
Lockhart delivered the script as scheduled that evening.
Lorne read it through, Lockhart's plot perfectly met his requirements. The companions were memorable, the description of the carriage had a good atmosphere, and the connecting plot was grand enough to lay the groundwork for the subsequent plot.
"I'm very satisfied, Lockhart. I've arranged for a scene from your book to be included in the footage."
Lockhart pressed his advantage. "Can I be included too?"
"Cannot."
Lorne resolutely refused. It was already quite good that books could be put in. Lockhart was bound to fall from grace sooner or later, and taking in fallen artists might get him blacklisted by the Ministry of Magic.
Compared to the students' situation, Lorne found it much easier to play the game on his own.
Less than a week after Halloween, Lorne quickly added new storylines and events to the update.
This is the first game update since the phone was released. People who bought the phone during the back-to-school season even thought it was after-sales service and praised themselves for their wise decision.
The students at the school saw more; they had been complaining that Wizard Legend didn't have an anniversary celebration, and that Halloween, which had events last year, was nowhere to be seen this year. It turns out they were going to celebrate two holidays at the same time.
Crabbe and Goyle stayed up all night, waiting for the game update to finish before hurriedly logging into the game.
Draco lay in bed, unable to sleep for a long time. He couldn't understand why those two idiots could only care about having fun themselves, without caring at all about the family's affairs.
Harry was also waiting for updates, while Ron lay down next to Harry, muttering, "I wish I had asked for Magic Mobile Phone. Harry, do you think my Christmas present will be a Magic Mobile Phone? After all, our family is quite well-off now."
"Probably not," Harry said, unaware of what specific business Director Lorne had introduced to the Weasley family. "One family can only buy one Magic Mobile Phone, have you forgotten?"
Ron gave a helpless shrug.
Harry turned his attention back to the game. Thanks to his solid foundation, Harry consistently ranked in the top two on various leaderboards, and he couldn't wait to see the new content of Wizard Legend.
A flash of white light appeared, Harry's familiar little figure appeared in the center of the screen, but this time he lost control of it completely.
An exclamation mark appeared above the little man's head, and then a pumpkin Accio straight from the flat map toward the screen, leaving a trail on the map before smashing onto the screen.
"It's so realistic!" Ron exclaimed.
A letter fell out of the pumpkin.
"We apologize for the delay in updating the double-festival event, which was originally scheduled for Halloween. To compensate all players, the development team is giving each player a 'Travel Carriage' as a gift. We hope you all have fun."
The letter remained on the screen for more than ten seconds, enough for someone with a reading disability to read it before it slowly burned into a pile of ashes.
A carriage appeared on the screen from below. Harry guided the little figure onto the carriage, only to discover a hidden world inside.
"Greetings, Wizard. I am House-elf Yaoyao. It is my honor to serve you. Please tell me your preferences so I can furnish your home until you are happy."
After the last update, the NPCs in the game were equipped with built-in voice acting. Because they were in the dormitory, Harry turned the volume down to the lowest setting, but he and Ron could still hear the Yaoyao conversation.
"He's so funny, can I ask him to say it again?" Ron found it amusing.
Harry couldn't find the dialogue button; for now, he could only place furniture.
The carriage must have been enchanted with Undetectable Extension Charm; the space was astonishingly large, and the walls could even be recolored. Harry immediately chose his favorite magenta.
Inside the exquisite pixelated interior, even the furniture is filled with adorable imagery. Harry can even imagine the table with rounded edges, the chairs padded on either side, and the large bed big enough for his whole family to sleep in.
" Harry, it's time to get back to the story." Ron shook Harry's arm.
Harry refused, saying, "No, I want to decorate my house nicely."
Perhaps Ron, who wasn't the owner of the room and had lived with his family since childhood, couldn't understand how attractive a home of his own was to Harry. It wouldn't be taken back at any time, it wasn't an old room that someone else had lived in, and it wasn't a dark stairwell filled with spiders.
Harry arranged everything meticulously, filling even the nooks and crannies with small pieces of furniture. He spent a long time choosing each flowerpot, and by the time he was completely satisfied, Ron had already fallen asleep.
Harry shook his head, tucked Ron in, and went to Ron's bed to sleep. As for the rest of the game's plot, he'd watch it with Ron tomorrow.
