Back in the boys' dormitory, his roommates were all fast asleep; Ron was even snoring softly.
Draco lay back on the bed, but didn't fall asleep immediately. His hand unconsciously touched the Two-Way Mirror in his pocket.
Meanwhile, in the girls' dormitory, Hermione quietly slipped into bed, hugging the small mirror with her image printed on it, burying her face in the pillow, and secretly smiling for a long time.
The night outside the window was fading, and the first ray of light was about to climb the towers of Hogwarts.
The next day.
On Saturday morning, Hogwarts was still bathed in the soft morning light, and even the corridors were quiet.
Hermione woke up early as usual. Since she had no classes, she got up quietly without disturbing any of her roommates and went downstairs alone to the girls' restroom.
She slipped into the cubicle, closed the door, and, after confirming no one was around, lowered her voice and softly called out, " Draco."
In the boys' dormitory, Draco was still fast asleep, nestled in the soft bedding.
The Two-Way Mirror beside his pillow suddenly felt slightly warm. Draco dismissed it as his imagination, vaguely turned over, buried his face in the pillow, and continued sleeping.
But the temperature didn't subside; instead, it grew hotter and hotter, like a small cluster of warm fire pressed against the skin, repeatedly reminding me of its heat.
Draco suddenly opened his eyes, his sleepiness instantly dispelled, and reached out to grab the mirror.
The mirror shone with a soft light, and on the other end stood Hermione.
Draco squinted at the clock on the bedside table; the red hands clearly pointed to 7:20.
That's ridiculously early.
Draco quickly answered the call and said lazily, "Hey, Hermione, are you up?"
Hermione was so angry she almost rolled her eyes at the mirror, but since she was in a toilet stall, she didn't dare to make a sound, afraid someone would push the door open and shatter her peace.
She bit her lip and said in a low, menacing voice, " Draco, the sun's already high in the sky! I'm waiting for you downstairs. You have five minutes, or I'm leaving."
"Right away, right away, I'll get up now!" Draco replied in a low voice.
He hurriedly threw off the covers, deliberately pointing the camera at himself so Hermione could clearly see him getting up and dressing, to show that he wouldn't delay.
Hermione felt a slight flush on her face as she watched Draco's flustered movements. Without saying anything more, she decisively severed the connection to the Two-Way Mirror.
When Draco hurriedly ran downstairs, the common room was quiet, with only the morning light shining through the stained glass onto the sofa.
Hermione was already sitting there, waiting quietly, a book unconsciously clutched in her hand, looking ready to study at any moment.
Draco walked over, his voice still languid from just waking up, and called out to her with a smile, "Honey, up this early on a Saturday too?"
Hermione glanced at Draco, blushed, but didn't refute the nickname. She simply closed the book and spoke righteously:
"Does that mean we don't have to study on Saturdays?"
Draco was speechless for a moment, unsure whether to laugh or cry.
Sure enough, no matter how late she goes to bed or how happy she is, Hermione Granger will always be the woman who has learning ingrained in her DNA.
Draco leaned closer to her and said, "Honey, I don't really need to learn much. Just let me sleep a little longer from now on..."
Hermione looked at Draco, raised an eyebrow slightly, and asked with a hint of threat, "You mean, you want me to be alone...?"
Draco saw her expression and immediately backed down:
"No, no, no, I was wrong! I won't sleep anymore, I'll leave right now, I'll do whatever my wife says!"
Hermione then gave a slight smile, slung her otter bag over her shoulder, stood up, and said, "That's more like it."
The two walked side by side toward the Great Hall, the morning light bathing the corridor in a quiet glow.
Draco turned to look at her, and couldn't help but complain in a low voice, "Honey, why are you so fierce one minute and gentle the next? Can't you just be gentle with me all the time?"
"Hmm?" Hermione tilted her head slightly, looking at him with a slightly dangerous smile, and said, "Am I not gentle?"
Upon seeing her expression, Draco immediately changed his tune:
"Gentle! So incredibly gentle! You're the gentlest person in the whole world!"
Hermione couldn't help but smile smugly, but quickened her pace, saying, "Let's go!"
After they finished breakfast, Hermione habitually pulled Draco towards the library.
I plan to review all the lessons I missed from Monday to Friday, leaving no room for laziness.
Upon entering the library, where the only sound was the rustling of pages turning, she found a quiet spot by the window and sat down.
Hermione opened her book, put down her pen, glared at Draco, and said, "No running around, no daydreaming, no idleness. You have to study with me."
Draco leaned back in his chair, twirling his quill pen listlessly, and said indifferently, "Stop messing around, I already know all of this."
Hermione clearly didn't believe him. She raised an eyebrow and immediately picked out a few tricky points of knowledge and Magical Theory questions from the textbook to test him.
Draco answered casually, his steps precise and his logic clear; even she couldn't find a single mistake.
She stared at Draco for a few seconds, completely at a loss, and could only sigh helplessly, lowering her voice to say:
"Then you... stay put and don't make a sound that might disturb others, or disturb me."
Draco nodded obediently, smiling innocently.
But he couldn't stay quiet for more than three minutes before he started getting restless.
First, he gently poked Hermione's hand with his fingertip.
Seeing that she ignored him, he reached out and quietly wrapped the end of her hair around his finger and twirled it.
Hermione paused, her pen poised, and glared at Draco.
Draco immediately let go, pretending to look intently at the air, and when she turned back, he reached out and gently pinched her cheek.
She bit her lip, forcing herself not to laugh, and dared not speak loudly in the library, only issuing a silent warning with her eyes.
Draco not only didn't stop, but he became even more outrageous.
While she was writing with her head down, he quickly leaned over and lightly touched her cheek, then immediately sat up straight, pretending nothing had happened.
Hermione's ears turned bright red, and she paused for half a second while holding the pen.
She turned her head, both angry and helpless, her voice barely audible. " Draco Malfoy, if you keep causing trouble..."
Draco immediately put his finger to his lips, signaling Hermione to be quiet!
Hermione was completely at a loss, seeing Draco knowingly doing the wrong thing and even reminding her of it.
She sighed softly, feeling both helpless and amused.
She lowered her head, the pen tip lightly tapping on the paper, silently muttering to herself:
I really don't know if bringing this guy along to study was the right thing to do or the wrong thing to do.
Draco then stopped causing trouble and sat quietly beside her.
Sunlight streamed through the library's tall windows, illuminating the pages of the books. The air was quiet, save for the soft sound of pens scratching across paper.
Hermione was probably worried that Draco would get so bored that he couldn't sit still, and also that he would start doing something to bother her again.
So every now and then, he would stop writing, turn his head, and whisper a few questions to Draco.
However, the problems weren't chosen randomly; they were all difficulties that she couldn't figure out or that had been stuck on for a long time.
At this point, Draco would explain the logic to her, clarify the key points, and occasionally help her break down complex Magical Theory into simple and straightforward terms.
She grasped things quickly, listened attentively, and took notes very fast.
What would have taken most of the day was completed in just two people asking and answering questions, their efficiency was astonishing.
Hermione herself was somewhat surprised, looking at Draco with great astonishment. "I didn't expect... that learning with you would actually make me so much faster."
