"That's right." Singe nodded, giving an affirmative answer.
"But Michael is just an ordinary human being, isn't he? He doesn't have any special abilities." Trillian was very confused about this.
"That's the most incredible part," Singe explained patiently. " Alexander's third son didn't die in the accident; he lived as an ordinary human, but his genes definitely belonged to the Corvinus Family."
"There's another expert?" The truth struck Trillian as utterly absurd. She scoffed, " The Werewolf are already in a bad situation, and now an ordinary person with no special abilities has been dragged into this fight. Isn't this just collateral damage?"
"A common man is innocent, but possessing a treasure is a crime." Draco stated matter-of-factly, "Any living being, any creature with value, has only one fate: to be exploited... and humans are no exception."
"I also oppose acts that artificially create suffering and deliberately harm living beings. However, I won't feel too much emotional pity, because the nature of this world is inherently cruel."
Singe added an even more brutal law of nature:
"We are all part of the food chain. Plants are eaten by herbivores, herbivores are hunted by carnivores, and all three are ultimately eaten by humans. Humans are simply at the top of the food chain, but the food chain itself has not ended. Instead, a new food chain has emerged, where big fish eat small fish, and small fish eat shrimp. In essence, it is no different from the law of the jungle."
After listening, Trillian felt utterly powerless. She slumped back on the sofa, staring at the ceiling, and let out a weak sigh, "This world... it really makes us feel so powerless."
"So," Draco pointed at her, "So, lowering your own value can actually reduce risk. Be glad you're not that special, targeted 'prey'."
"Young Master, you really know how to comfort people." Trillian pouted and sighed half-jokingly, "After hearing what you said, I even want to give up struggling and just be a useless piece of trash."
"Waste? Even being waste isn't so easy these days." Draco raised an eyebrow, mercilessly shattering her illusions. "These days, it's all about recycling waste. Even industrial slag has to be hauled away to pave asphalt roads. Every scrap is meticulously planned out. You think you can escape it?"
Trillian felt relieved and said confidently, "That's why I said my choice was right! We should enjoy life while we can and never be exploited like cattle!"
"It's quite liberating," Draco said with a smirk, then changed the subject, "But freedom comes at a price."
"Once caught, one's fate is no longer in control of one's own destiny. Life and death are preordained, wealth and honor are determined by heaven. With a righteous spirit, I have nothing to fear."
"It's alright, I have a powerful backer anyway." Trillian moved closer to Draco, smiling like a cunning fox.
Draco glanced at her, chuckled helplessly, and reminded her, " Britain might earn you some face, but elsewhere, it's hard to say."
"Then I'll just go to Britain and become a thief," Trillian said with a grin, immediately hatching her own plan and showering Draco with compliments, "Young master, why don't you try harder?"
"At your age, this is the time to strive! Once you've traveled the world and made a name for yourself, I can rely on your connections to steal freely all over the world!"
"... Is that all you've got?" Draco chuckled at her peculiar thought process and shook his head helplessly.
"Occupational hazard!" Trillian smiled slyly.
"You were just saying you wanted to enjoy life, and now you want me to run around doing all sorts of things," Draco retorted, raising an eyebrow. "I'm not some beast of burden; why should I suffer?"
Upon hearing this, Trillian suddenly became serious, adopting an inspirational tone. "No pain, no gain."
"That's all a lie," Draco explained to her.
"Once you start to suffer, you can never go back to the way things were. You need to understand that hardship is only prepared for those who can endure it, while money only flows to those who don't lack money."
"If someone truly can't endure hardship, where will they find the hardship to suffer? Does anyone really enjoy deliberately seeking out hardship?"
"That's true," Trillian nodded in agreement. "People who don't like hardship would have given up long ago and run away, not caring what others do. Like me, I can comfortably freeload all day long."
"You're the best," Draco teased.
"Use other people's money to do your own thing."
Trillian laughed without any hesitation, "That's right! I don't feel bad at all about spending other people's money to enjoy myself."
"Wait a minute, something's not right!" Trillian slapped her thigh suddenly. "Weren't we having a serious discussion about science? How did the topic veer off to the Pacific Ocean?"
"Isn't this all the talk you started?"
Draco innocently spread his hands.
"Alright, alright," Trillian waved her hand, getting back to the main topic, "Young Master, do you think science is good or bad?"
"As long as it doesn't involve biological research and the vested interests behind it, I think it might be a tiny bit better," Draco casually remarked. "I don't know much about these things either."
"Young Master, you're too modest."
"Indeed. Your words have worried me for days. I feel like my worldview has been completely reshaped," Raze said.
"Hey, wait a minute, Old Man Xin," Trillian suddenly turned her attention to the silent Singe, questioning him.
"You're supposed to be a genius, how come after six hundred years you haven't developed a Half-blood life form?"
"It's not that we can't research it, it's that we don't have a perfectly suitable test subject," Singe explained helplessly to Trillian.
Is Michael perfect?
Singe nodded. "Yes."
"What about the previous test subjects? What happened to those that weren't perfect?" Trillian keenly grasped the blind spot.
Singe remained silent for a moment, without answering immediately.
"This..." Singe stammered, remaining silent.
This hesitant attitude says it all.
"I understand," Trillian sneered, her eyes sharpening. "You've been used as expendable resources, haven't you? For your so-called 'purposes' and 'interests,' you've actually tormented the direct descendants of the Corvinus bloodline for a full six hundred years?!"
Upon hearing this, Lucian and Singe were momentarily speechless, unsure how to refute it. Lucian could only awkwardly try to salvage the situation. "Our initial intention was not to indiscriminately kill innocents, but simply to end the millennia-long war between our two races and find a path to reconciliation and survival. Those experiments... were also a last resort."
"You've committed quite a few sins," Draco said casually, continuing his mockery, "So being hunted down is just retribution. You shouldn't have any objections when we purge the vampires' main fighting power."
"I will... do my best to keep my people in check," Lucian said, his Adam's apple bobbing before he finally spoke in a heavy voice.
At that moment, a ridiculous and absurd key point suddenly flashed through Draco's mind, and his thoughts abruptly shifted, prompting him to deliver a sarcastic remark:
"I think you guys are just bored and have nothing better to do."
