But soon, Callum seemed to realize something.
Why hasn't Lynn made a move yet?
He raised his glass, inviting Lynn to drink with him, wanting to personally watch Lynn drink the divinely bestowed water.
Lynn cursed inwardly.
But given the current situation, he can only try to struggle a little longer.
"Lord Callum," Lynn suddenly spoke.
"You just said that your elder brother can go to the battlefield, while you can only manage internal affairs."
Callum's expression stiffened for a moment.
"If," Lynn continued.
"I mean, if, if one day, the High King were no longer here, what would you do?"
Callum paused for a moment.
In that instant, the fervor on his face faded, replaced by a complex expression.
"What do you mean by that?" he asked.
Lynn shrugged.
"It doesn't mean anything, I was just curious."
Callum stared at him for a few seconds, then laughed.
That smile was different from the fake smile from before.
With vigilance.
"The Governor is truly astute," he said.
"But for now, let's talk about your matter first."
He pointed to the glass of wine.
"Please."
Lynn's heart sank.
Just then, Callum glanced down at Lynn's cup.
His eyes changed.
"Your Excellency." His voice turned dangerous.
"You don't seem to have drunk much of your wine?"
Lynn felt as if sweat was sliding down her forehead.
He looked down at his cup.
Indeed, even though he poured that glass of wine on the ground, it was still full.
Callum's cup was empty.
It's over.
Callum slowly rose, his face gradually changing; the perfect smile vanished, replaced by something else entirely.
With a cruel expectation.
"You haven't drunk any, you haven't drunk any at all." His voice became low.
The surrounding space began to distort.
Those exquisite decorations and warm candlelight began to flow and deform like melting wax.
Strange patterns appeared on the walls, and the floor began to undulate as if it were alive.
Lynn tried to stand up and resist, but he couldn't move.
My body felt like it was bound by invisible ropes, and I couldn't even move my fingers.
He desperately tried to regain control of his body, but the sense of resistance acted like a wall between him and his power.
He finally understood what it felt like when he bound others to his system.
That kind of despair of being completely controlled and powerless.
Callum walked slowly around the table toward him.
With each step, his figure twisted and expanded.
That handsome face gradually transformed into a demonic one.
Purple skin, curved goat horns, and vertical pupils like a venomous snake.
"Your Excellency." His voice became as smooth as silk, yet as dangerous as a venomous snake.
"You think you're chatting with me? Successfully stalling for time?"
He stretched out his hand, which had transformed into a claw covered in purple scales.
You have no idea how long I've waited for this moment.
"I've had my eye on you ever since you first stepped into Saint Garus Castle and first made contact with the ' Dragon of Frost '."
His claws drew closer and closer to Lynn's face.
"The secrets you hold, your connection to that Tyranids, and that strange power that even He cannot fathom."
"All of this will become a gift to the Lord of Pleasure."
Lynn tried desperately to move, but he still couldn't.
He screamed inwardly, "Yami!!!"
Just as that claw was about to touch his cheek...
Bang!!!
The restaurant door was kicked open.
Callum's hand froze in mid-air.
He turned around abruptly, his vertical pupils flashing with anger at being interrupted.
A man dressed in a purple noble robe stood at the door.
He looked to be in his early thirties, handsome, with a languid air of nobility.
His clothes were embroidered with intricate patterns, which, in Lynn's view, seemed to be slowly writhing.
Lynn felt that the face looked somewhat familiar.
He remembered.
Chairman Trevor's birthday party.
This person was present at that banquet; he sat in a corner, didn't say a word, and just silently drank.
At the time, Lynn only thought of him as an insignificant minor nobleman and didn't pay much attention to him.
" Loya," Callum's voice was filled with anger, "What are you doing here?"
Loya entered the restaurant, followed by several attendants also dressed in purple robes.
He glanced at Lynn, who was strapped to his seat, then at Callum, a lazy smile playing on his lips.
" Callum, isn't that a bit unfair of you?"
Callum's vertical pupils contracted.
"What do you mean?"
Loya walked to the dining table, picked up the bottle of purple wine, smelled it, and put it down with disdain.
"What do I mean?" He looked at Callum, his eyes turning playful.
"What I mean is, how can you alone decide the Lord of Pleasure's plans?"
Callum's face was contorted with rage.
" Loya, are you trying to stop me?!"
Loya stopped laughing, his vertical pupils trembling slightly with murderous intent.
"I haven't received His instructions." He slowly walked towards Lynn.
"And..."
He stopped in front of Lynn and looked down at the trapped governor.
"He was the prey I targeted first."
Lynn's mind raced.
Starting with the Song Offering? Or when?
Was this person stalking him ever since he even landed in Brevis?
Why didn't Rena ever notice?
Could this person be even better at hiding Sorine?
Callum's aura began to escalate wildly, and the surrounding space distorted even more violently.
" Loya, you are challenging my authority!"
"Authority?" Loya raised an eyebrow.
"Do you have authority before the Lord of Pleasure?"
"We are all His servants, does it matter who spots the prey first?"
He looked at Lynn, his eyes also filled with a certain longing.
"The key is, who can offer this prey to Him intact?"
Callum seemed to have thought of something, and the tip of his forked tongue trembled in the air.
He said in a mocking tone:
"I almost forgot, you're not still chasing after those ridiculous things with your 'master,' are you?"
Master? What's going on?
Lynn understood the implication in Callum's words: this was Slaanesh follower named Loya.
It doesn't seem to be solely for Slaanesh's benefit?
Loya seemed to have been hit where it was predicted, and his expression turned even more unpleasant.
The standoff between the two men created an extremely tense atmosphere in the restaurant.
Lynn was trapped in her seat, unable to move, but her mind was racing with calculations.
The two Slaanesh followers are fighting amongst themselves.
This was his only chance, so he frantically searched the system for any features that could help him.
Just then, the restaurant suddenly began to shake violently.
boom!!!
The west wall of the restaurant was forcibly demolished, sending debris flying and filling the air with smoke and dust.
A massive figure burst in through the smoke and dust.
