Just recently, an urgent notice was sent from the command post of the Forbidden Wall Forbidden Wall all the troops stationed there.

The contents of the notice were like a bolt from the blue, plunging the entire Forbidden Wall into immense chaos.

" Planetary Governor Kerry Von and his men have been Chaos by the Great Enemy of Chaos, betraying the Emperor and rebelling against the Imperium."

All troops loyal to the Imperium, immediately launch a purge of its remaining forces, killing them without mercy!

Below the notice was the bright red seal of the Brevis Noble Council, a seal confirmed by the joint signatures of hundreds of noble families, giving it an air of great authority.

The Vanguard's command post instantly erupted into chaos.

Most of the generals came from the Lower City and fought their way up from the Battle of the Forbidden Wall with Lynn.

They had witnessed Lynn standing atop Cold Front Tank, charging into the Orks's gunfire.

He also witnessed Lynn distributing precious rations to the starving people and savages in the Lower City, and giving away the nobles' property to the soldiers on the front lines.

How could a leader who led them to victory against powerful enemies and cared for his people possibly betray the Imperium and be corrupted by Chaos?

"This is slander! This is a conspiracy!" A Vanguard slammed his fist on the table, his eyes filled with rage.

"How could the governor possibly betray us? This must be the work of those nobles!"

"That's right! They must be making up lies because they don't like the Governor's crackdown on the nobles!"

Another general chimed in, his fingers cracking from the effort.

But the Vanguard who came from noble families seemed to have been waiting for this day for a long time.

Upon receiving the notification, they did not hesitate and immediately gathered their men to launch an attack on the "loyal" troops around them who were loyal to Lynn.

Gunfire quickly filled every corner of the Forbidden Wall.

Comrades who once fought side by side have suddenly become enemies, and chaos reigns within the Forbidden Wall.

But amidst the chaos, the junior officers of the Vanguard remained remarkably clear-headed.

As Lynn's core loyalists, they were all Genestealer, influenced by Rena.

Through the swarm's consciousness network, they understood the intentions behind the actions taken by the St. Garus Family and the nobles against Lynn.

I just never expected them to take such a risk.

They first attacked Lynn directly inside the main hive, Saint Garus Castle.

They also used the name of Chaos to slander Lynn as a traitor and launch a civil war within the Forbidden Wall.

They knew perfectly well that this was not a simple rebellion, but a conspiracy that had been premeditated.

The goal was to remove Lynn and regain control of the Noble Council in Brevis.

Even the Noble Council is just an empty shell; the real mastermind behind it all remains unknown.

Without hesitation, these junior officers immediately began organizing their troops.

Some troops deployed on the spot, using the fortifications of the Forbidden Wall to fiercely resist the rebels' surprise attack, buying time for the rest of the troops to assemble.

Another part of the troops took advantage of the chaos to break through the Forbidden Wall and head deeper into the ice field.

They have only one goal.

Find Leo.

Leo had no idea how long he had been running.

He has survived until now only thanks to the complex terrain of the icy plains and the constant sacrifices of his personal guards.

The personal guard behind him has grown from the initial three hundred men to two hundred, then one hundred, and finally to fifty.

Every one of them who fell was someone who had followed him for at least two years.

Old Tom, that perpetually stern-faced old sergeant.

He took a bomb for Leo, his chest blasted open, and as he fell, he was still shouting "Run!"

Little Willy was only twenty-one years old and had just been married for three months.

He turned and charged at his pursuers, detonating a Melta Bomb and buying Leo two seconds.

There were many, many more comrades-in-arms who fought alongside me.

But Leo dared not turn back.

He was afraid that if he turned around, he wouldn't be able to run anymore.

After running for an unknown amount of time, a valley appeared before Leo's eyes.

On both sides are nearly vertical ice walls, towering into the clouds, smooth as a mirror.

The entrance was narrow, allowing only three or four people to walk side by side; what lay deeper inside was unclear.

The pursuers behind them were getting closer and closer.

Although Aiden's knight mechs were temporarily hampered by the terrain, the rebels...

The soldiers who had come out of the main nest with him had already caught up to within 500 meters.

Leo gritted his teeth and charged into the valley.

This may be a dead end, but he will never stop.

The valley was indeed a dead end.

A hundred-meter-high ice wall blocked the way, smooth as a mirror, with nowhere to climb.

But Leo glanced back at the entrance and suddenly realized something.

This narrow passage is a natural defensive fortification.

"Form ranks!" he roared, his voice echoing through the valley. "Hold the valley!"

The remaining fifty guards immediately dispersed, seeking cover at the entrance.

Icicles, protruding and concave ice walls—everything usable was used.

Some set up the last Heavy Bolter, some piled grenades in front of them, and some silently checked their bayonets.

No one spoke, and no one asked, "Will we survive?"

They were simply prepared to die, or at least, to die before Leo.

When the first group of private soldiers rushed in, they were met with precise bursts of fire.

Fifty elite veterans held the narrow passage firmly in place.

The private soldiers huddled together, with nowhere to hide, and the front ranks collapsed instantly.

Screams echoed through the valley, and blood sprayed onto the snow, steaming hot.

But there were even more rebels behind them.

They continued their charge, stepping over the corpses of their comrades, using the bodies as cover, and advancing little by little.

When someone falls, someone immediately takes their place.

Like a herd of livestock, knowing they are going to die, they still charge forward.

Leo, gripping his Chainsword, stood at the very center of the battle line.

His hands trembled uncontrollably from exhaustion, and every muscle in his body seemed to be screaming in agony.

But he must stand; if he falls, this line of defense will collapse.

Another group of private soldiers stormed in.

Leo saw a familiar face.

He was a young corporal, one of the first men to emerge from the main hive with him.

The kid was only nineteen when he first arrived; he was timid and couldn't even hold a gun properly.

Leo personally taught him how to aim, how to fight with bayonets, and how to survive on the battlefield.

But now the young man is holding a gun and shooting at him.

The bullet grazed Leo's scalp, sending shards of ice flying against the ice wall.

Leo dodged, swung his Chainsword, severed the gun barrel, and then pierced the man's chest with his sword.

The serrated teeth of the Chainsword dug into flesh, making a piercing sound.

Warm blood splattered on Leo's face, carrying a metallic smell.

When the young man fell, his eyes were still open, looking at Leo, and his lips moved as if he wanted to say something.

Leo didn't hear him clearly.

But he knew it wasn't a curse.

During a lull in the battle, Leo leaned against the ice wall, panting heavily.

My mind was racing non-stop.

Who exactly started this rebellion?

Before fleeing, he glanced at the Forbidden Wall, knowing that a rebellion must have broken out within Forbidden Wall as well.

In all of Brevis, who hates the Governor the most?

Those nobles whose homes were ransacked, who were suppressed, and whose courage was shattered were the worst offenders.

They hated Lynn to the core and dreamed of bringing him down.

But can they do it?

The Noble Council was completely under the control of the governor after his return, and they were unable to mobilize a paladin like Aiden.

It's even less likely that the entire Forbidden Wall would descend into internal strife.

But there is one family that can do it.

His family, Great Bear St. Garus.

Leo first ruled out his grandfather, Caladogon.

Although the old man is stubborn and their relationship seems strained, he would never do such a thing.

The St. Garus Family has protected Brevis for four hundred years. My grandfather would rather die than let the family bear the stigma of "treason".

Then there aren't many people left.

Uncle Callum, in charge of internal affairs, was politically astute and capable of influencing the Noble Council.

However, he could not command the paladins, who basically only obeyed the orders of the High King and the Adeptus Mechanicus.

Aunt Luna, who is in charge of technical management and liaises with the Adeptus Mechanicus, does indeed have ways to influence the paladins.

But Leo shook his head at her political skills; his aunt wasn't cut out for that.

So who exactly is it?

Leo couldn't understand it.

"Don't let me go back alive." Leo gripped his Chainsword tightly, his eyes red.

Don't let me go back alive!
