Aiden's eyes widened.
He tried to contact Quinn before launching the rebellion, but was unable to reach him.
He had assumed Quinn was on another mission and never expected him to be here.
" Quinn! What the hell are you doing?!"
Quinn did not answer.
The Thunderstrike Power Fist arrived with a whistling gust of wind.
boom!!!
The gray knight mech's Ion Shield flickered violently.
Two knight mechs engaged in an earth-shattering battle in the valley.
Silver-gray and silver-blue figures intertwined, the roar of Gatling guns and the howl of Melta Cannon blended together.
The light from the ion shield flickered, and each impact caused the surrounding ground to tremble, with cracks spreading across the ice walls like a spider web.
Leo was thrown over by the shockwave and rolled more than ten meters away.
He got up, looked at the two huge figures, and felt a little confused.
Quinn was actually saving him?
Isn't he from the family?
But Leo soon realized that Quinn was not in a good condition.
His movements became slower and stiffer.
He had several chances to seriously injure Aiden, but he was always a step too slow, allowing Aiden to dodge.
That's the Machine Spirit rejecting it.
After being infected by Rena, his soul was not pure enough to be fully synchronized with the Machine Spirit.
It's fine normally, but once you enter a high-intensity battle, the longer it lasts, the more severe the rejection becomes.
His consciousness began to blur, the scene before his eyes swayed, and strange whispers reached his ears, as if something was screaming in his head.
He knew he couldn't hold on much longer.
In that instant, a clear, cold female voice rang in his mind:
"For the Ice Lord!"
Quinn's eyes suddenly cleared.
He glanced in the direction of Brevis Prime Hive.
A decision has been made.
The mech lunged at Aiden, desperately embracing the silver-gray chassis.
Aiden was horrified to discover that Quinn's mech core was beginning to overload.
"You're fucking insane!!!"
The Reaper Chainsword pierced through Quinn's armor, severely injuring Quinn.
Aiden struggled frantically in his mech, trying to get rid of the madman.
But the blue mech, like a barnacle, remained firmly attached to the silver-gray mech.
The mech's core energy readings skyrocketed, and alarms blared incessantly.
" Aminos!" Aiden roared in frustration.
Boom!!!
The explosion engulfed everything.
Golden flames intertwined with blue energy, engulfing the two knight mechs and everything within a few hundred meters.
The shockwave whipped up snow waves tens of meters high, causing ice walls to collapse and debris to fly everywhere.
I don't know how much time passed.
Leo slowly emerged from a giant Ice Lotus.
My ears were ringing, and everything in front of me was shaking.
He steadied himself by holding onto the ice wall and looked towards the valley.
The knight mech disappeared.
Instead, there was a huge crater, more than fifty meters in diameter and ten meters deep.
At the bottom of the crater lay the wreckage of two knight mechs, twisted, melted, and indistinguishable from one another.
The charred metal was emitting blue smoke, and broken parts were scattered all over the ground.
Quinn and Aiden are both gone.
Only that pile of scrap metal proves that they once existed.
Leo stood there, covered in blood, panting heavily.
He didn't understand.
Why would Quinn come to his rescue, even at the cost of her own life?
The person who looked down on them at the banquet.
In the end, he traded his own life for his.
In the distance, the Frost Soldier were slaughtering the last rebels.
The barbarian cavalry were cleaning up the battlefield, and the survivors of the Vanguard gathered together, watching this side, without coming over to disturb them.
Leo slowly walked towards the deep pit.
He stopped at the edge of the pit and looked down at the pile of wreckage.
" Aiden..." He opened his mouth, but only managed to utter those two words.
He didn't know what to say.
He looked up at the sky.
From the direction of the Forbidden Wall, light began to pierce through the dark clouds.
Callum is very depressed right now, extremely depressed.
He originally had a perfect plan.
Lure the governor in, offer him to the Lord of Pleasure, obtain the governor's secrets, and in return, gain more favor from Slaanesh.
But now it's all destroyed.
The madwoman stormed in with Tzeentch creature and smashed the restaurant to pieces.
And that bastard Loya was always lurking around, waiting to take advantage of the situation.
The army of the Ecclesiarchy appeared out of nowhere: fanatics, priests, Sisters of Battle, and those terrifying Penitent Engine.
He was indiscriminately slaughtering his men.
Those Slaanesh followers he cultivated for many years, the souls he lured away over decades.
And those "works of art" he was so proud of are now falling like wheat being harvested.
The fanatics charged into the crowd with explosives, Sisters of Battle fired their holy bombs one after another, each shot taking a life.
Callum's face looked ashen, like he'd eaten shit.
The Helbrute, the war behemoth brought by the Tzeentch Sorcerer, could have drawn some of his firepower.
That thing has thick skin and tough flesh; ordinary weapons don't even cause it any pain or itching when they hit it.
But the fanatics didn't care.
Dozens of people rushed forward, grabbed its legs, and detonated the explosives strapped to its body.
The explosions continued, sending flames and blood flying everywhere, causing it to tilt and slow down.
After losing its balance, it was met with a volley of fire from the Sisters of Battle.
Holy bombs rained down on it, each one scorching its demonic nature.
It let out a piercing scream, the sound like metal scraping against glass, so sharp it hurt the eardrums.
Finally, it crashed to the ground with a thud, its massive body slamming onto the floor, shaking the entire restaurant.
With the fall of Helbrute, Callum became the Ecclesiarchy's primary "target."
He glanced back and found that Loya and the Tzeentch Sorcerer were gone.
Those two cunning bastards ran away faster than anyone else as soon as they saw the situation was turning against them.
"Fuck!" Callum uttered through gritted teeth.
Now he alone bears the brunt of the Ecclesiarchy's firepower.
The fanatics charged at him like madmen.
Those people were completely fearless of death, with explosives strapped to their bodies, crude weapons in their hands, and a somewhat sinister flame of faith burning in their eyes.
Callum lashed out and crushed a dozen or so with his whip, but more immediately surged forward.
The Sisters of Battle used explosives to suppress his movement.
The bullets hit his body, each one burning him so intensely he wanted to scream.
His skin was smoking, and his strength was draining away.
The priests' loud prayers acted like invisible shackles, slowing his movements slower and slower.
Callum began to regret it.
I regret facing all of this alone, I shouldn't have been so greedy, and I shouldn't have been so arrogant.
Just as he was distracted, a relic grenade exploded beside him.
It was made from the ashes of a martyred saint; when it exploded, it burst forth with dazzling golden light, accompanied by a soaring hymn.
"Hello~ Lulu~!"
The song pierced Callum's ears like countless needles pricking his brain.
He staggered backward from the blast, his aura fluctuating violently, like a candle flickering in the wind.
Before he could even regain his footing, more than a dozen Sisters of Battle had already rushed up to him.
The Power Halberd pierced his body from all directions, pinning him to the spot like a hedgehog, unable to move.
The enchanted Power Halberd was burning his internal organs, and he felt his body disintegrating from the inside out.
The Sisters of Battle formed a circle, trapping him in the middle.
They were waiting for Canoness Valenia to come and use an even more powerful relic to banish him completely.
Callum looked up and saw Valenia walking toward him through the Sisters of Battle surrounding him.
She held aloft a cross covered in white cloth, its golden light more intense than any other light around her.
That was the light of death.
Callum knew he had to do something.
When Valenia approached, she saw a body that was rapidly withering away.
Like a snake shedding its skin, the body pierced by the Power Halberd was shrinking and shriveling, turning into an empty human-shaped shell.
The real Callum is no longer there.
"Damn it!" Valenia roared, "He got away!"
Callum's true form appeared beside Lynn.
The governor, trapped in his seat, is still unable to move.
A flicker of panic seemed to cross Lynn's eyes, but it was quickly suppressed.
Callum grabbed Lynn by the collar and dragged him up from his seat.
A maniacal laugh appeared on that distorted face:
"You've ended up in my hands after all!"
His speed was astonishing.
Dragging Lynn along like a rag doll, they rushed toward a hidden door in the corner of the restaurant.
That hidden door was an escape route he had prepared long ago, leading to a secret underground chamber deep within the castle.
Behind them, the Sisters of Battle had just discovered the shriveled body.
Realizing they had been tricked, they roared in anger and frantically chased after Callum.
But Callum was too fast; he was getting closer and closer to the secret door.
One hundred meters, fifty meters, twenty meters!
Just as he was about to reach the hidden door, he suddenly felt something trip him up.
It's spider silk.
Some kind of transparent Psychic Power silk wrapped around him from all directions, binding his lower limbs.
The spider silk was incredibly tough; he struggled, but couldn't break free.
Callum glanced down and sneered, "Such a petty trick..."
He struggled with all his might, his muscles bulged, his demonic power erupted, and the spider silk snapped.
But in that instant, a dark figure descended from the sky.
A purple demonic claw pierced through his chest from behind, exiting from the front.
Purple blood was still dripping from its claws, and when it fell to the ground, it corroded small, smoking pits.
Callum looked down at the claw on his chest, then slowly turned his head away.
Loya stood behind him, a signature languid smile on his face.
"You think you can really walk?" Loya said, his voice full of mockery.
"He was the prey I targeted first."
Callum's eyes went from shock to despair, and then from despair to madness.
He knew he couldn't escape.
Loya's claws had pierced his heart, and the feeling of his heart breaking was consuming his consciousness.
The Sisters of Battle are charging in, only a few dozen meters away.
Lynn was still beside him, but he could no longer hold on to him.
Since we can't survive...
Then let everyone be buried with him!
