Thermal imaging concealment: enhanced surface temperature regulation. She could rapidly adjust her surface temperature to closely match the ambient background, with smooth transitions during movement to avoid producing a distinct thermal silhouette. 3. Vibration and sound absorption: fine adjustments to the carapace's internal structure, along with secretion of a special damping mucus. It could effectively absorb vibrations and low-frequency sound waves generated by her own movements, making her footsteps nearly silent. 4. Chemical scent analysis: pheromones secreted by her glands became extremely faint and controllable. They could rapidly bind with and neutralize odor molecules in the surrounding environment (sewage, rust, industrial exhaust), making her difficult to track by smell or chemical sensors.
This covered almost every conventional reconnaissance method the Sons of Medusa squad might use!
Rena was now harder to detect and more covert in her movements.
But this was only the beginning.

Lynn's mind raced as he recalled every detail of the battle against the Sons of Medusa.
He analyzed their fighting methods, equipment characteristics, strengths, and possible weaknesses.
"First enhancement: armor!"
What was the Sons of Medusa's greatest advantage?
Heavy firepower!
Heavy Boltguns, melta weapons, and flamers were all highly lethal weapons with tremendous armor penetration.
Rena's current carapace was still inadequate against firepower of that caliber.
Enhancement direction: "modular composite armor" and "high-temperature resistance/enhanced self-healing"!
He issued the command mentally, and the system began to work.
Deep underground, Rena's carapace began to "molt" with faint clicking sounds.
The old, relatively intact carapace cracked and peeled away, revealing newly grown "modular armor plates" with a strange purplish-red sheen underneath.
These plates were not a single seamless whole. Like the most intricate scale armor or plate armor, they fitted tightly together piece by piece, layer by layer, yet retained tiny cushioning gaps.
The plates' hardness increased further, but their brittleness was adjusted as well.
Under a heavy blow, the plates at the point of impact would shatter first, thereby "absorbing and carrying away the impact" to prevent the force from reaching the fragile tissues inside.
After they shattered, fresh carapace material would rapidly secrete from the growth layer beneath the plates and solidify, achieving "high-speed healing."
Meanwhile, the carapace's molecular structure underwent specialized adjustments against high temperatures, greatly raising its heat tolerance and significantly increasing its resistance to melta weapons and flamers.
(Fun fact: motorcycle helmets work the same way. A helmet that "breaks" under a heavy blow is a good helmet,
otherwise, if the helmet merely deforms, the impact will be transmitted to the person's brain.)
Now, Rena's defensive approach had become one of using renewable, modular, "disposable" armor plates.
Break one of my plates, and I'll grow it back. As long as you can't instantly vaporize me or blast me to pieces, I can keep tanking your damage!
"Second enhancement: weapons!"
Tanking alone wasn't enough. She also needed damage output that could easily "open cans."
Enhancement direction: specialized anti-heavy-armor attacks!
"Rending Claws" and "Bio-Plasma Cannon."
The bone blades on Rena's forelimbs began to shrink and transform.
Ultimately, her left hindlimb specialized into a shorter, thicker "Rending Claws," its tips coated in ultra-dense chitin that gleamed with a dull, dark luster.
The muscles and tendons driving it swelled like powered steel cables, granting it terrifying gripping and tearing strength capable of easily ripping through ceramite armor.
Her right hindlimb, meanwhile, became an enormous "biological cannon sac" pulsing with a dangerous orange-red glow.
The cannon's body consisted of specialized chitinous conduits and focusing crystals.
This was a "Bio-Plasma Cannon." Only a chief Tyranid Warrior or above could synthesize and store the ultra-high-temperature plasma needed to "fire" it within its body.
It could eject the plasma when needed, with an instantaneous temperature sufficient to melt adamantium and ceramite!
With Rending Claws for melee and a plasma cannon for close-to-medium range, her armor-piercing capability against heavily armored units underwent a qualitative leap.
"Third enhancement: mobility!"
"Give me wings, let me soar!"
Lynn all but roared out this decision.
In the cramped environment of the Hive City, flight might be restricted.
But the value of "three-dimensional maneuverability" and "vertical movement" was immeasurable!
The system worked furiously!
At Rena's shoulder blades, bone proliferated and transformed violently!
Tough, leathery biological membranes tore free from beneath her skin and extended, fusing with chitinous wing bones to form a pair of enormous, powerful "wing membranes"!
Her forelimbs specialized entirely into wing arms better suited to flight, their membranes covered in tough, elastic muscle fibers.
They could not only provide powerful lift, but also easily perform difficult aerial maneuvers such as supersonic dives, sharp turns, and hovering.
Her legs evolved to become thicker and stronger, with sharp claw blades suited to landing and ground movement.
The specialized Winged Tyranid Prime-Rena-was born!
A metallic sheen flowed across her purplish-red modular carapace in the dim light, while a pair of enormous membranous wings folded behind her back.
Her left claw was fearsome, a green glow showed faintly within the cannon muzzle of her right hand, and her compound eyes shone with an intelligence unlike that of ordinary Tyranids.
After she completed three directed enhancements, with a total of 3 skill points invested in the Personal Path, the system notification sounded again:

Soon, he thought of the "answer."
"That's the one!" Lynn no longer hesitated.

Deep within the fault, Rena, who had just finished her enhancements, suddenly let out a piercing shriek interwoven with pain and pleasure!
The entire evolutionary process did not last very long.
Lynn looked at the words indicating success in the system notification, sensing Rena's increasingly powerful and complex fluctuations of consciousness through their link.
Through the system's character illustration, Lynn saw Rena's current appearance.
She was nearly fifty percent larger than other Winged Tyranid Primes.
Across her four-and-a-half-meter-long body, Rena's graceful curves effortlessly carried the savage purplish-red armor.
Claws that could tear through anything and a massive cannon radiating an aura of destruction made her look so terrifying and powerful.
Those wings, seemingly capable of blotting out the sky, supplied the final piece of the puzzle to her "perfection."
