Lynn returned one day earlier.
Inside the Governor's Palace, in the office of Chief Archon Carter.
Isolde stood quietly by the window, gazing at the Hive City outside.
She wore an elegant white dress, her long golden hair cascading over her shoulders, and her face was expressionless.
To outsiders, she was a quiet, aloof governor's wife, but also a Psyker with precognitive abilities.
The last time the Governor encountered danger at Saint Garus Castle, if Lady Isolde hadn't discovered something amiss, the Governor might have perished.
But no one knew that this beautiful governor's wife was actually a perfect doll created by Rena.
All her thoughts and actions were remotely controlled by Rena.
"Mrs. Is it true?" Carter stood in front of Isolde Isolde, his voice trembling with excitement.
"Has Lord Kerry really taken down Carl II?"
Isolde then turned his head thoughtfully, his voice clear and ethereal:
"Yes, I just witnessed what happened around the Governor."
"He has successfully recaptured the Carl II. The Orks warlord who was entrenched on the Carl II is dead. The Expeditionary Force suffered very few casualties, and the governor will be back soon."
Carter let out a long sigh of relief, his face beaming with undisguised joy.
He finally felt relieved after months of worry.
Only he himself knows how difficult things have been for the Governor-General's office these past few months.
Lynn took almost all of the elite troops with him, leaving the governor's mansion powerless within Brevis.
The nobles are restless, the Orks ' raids have never stopped, and since Lynn was ambushed by the Chaos's greatest enemy, more and more Doomsday Churches and Chaos Cult have appeared in Brevis.
Now, Lynn has won.
Carl II has been recovered.
The pressure on the Governor's Office was instantly relieved.
"That's great, that's really great!" Carter exclaimed, jumping up excitedly.
"May the Emperor bless you! Lord Kerry is indeed the Emperor's chosen one!"
He paused, looked at Isolde, and asked:
"Mrs. Isolde, do you think it's appropriate for me to release this information now?"
"Suitable." Isolde nodded.
"Releasing it now will help stabilize public sentiment."
"Moreover, the Tithe Fleet is about to arrive. The higher Kerry's prestige, the more bargaining chips we will have."
"That's what I think too." Carter nodded.
"I'll make the arrangements right away and announce this good news to the entire Brevis immediately!"
Soon, the loudspeakers on the upper floors of Brevis blared out.
"Citizens of Brevis, I am Chief Archon Carter!"
"Now, I have some incredibly exciting news to announce to everyone!"
"Our Governor, the Emperor's Chosen, Kerry Von, leading the Purification Crusade Fleet, has achieved a decisive victory at the Carl II!"
"We have successfully recaptured Carl II Space Station. The evil Orks warlord Iron Claw Chandler has been utterly purged by the Emperor's wrath!"
"It won't be long before the Governor returns in triumph."
"May the Emperor protect you! Glory to Brevis!"
Carter's slightly excited voice echoed throughout every corner of the upper floors.
This good news quickly spread from the most noble aristocratic spires to the dirtiest slums.
After a brief silence, the entire Brevis erupted in excitement.
In the slums, countless ragged civilians rushed out of dilapidated houses, if they could still be called houses.
They waved their arms and shouted Lynn's name.
Many of them had relatives who died at the hands of the Orks.
Now, Lynn has avenged them.
Even in the spires of the nobles, many nobles breathed a sigh of relief.
Although they harbored resentment towards Lynn, they also knew that Lynn's actions had protected their safety and interests.
If Carl II remains occupied by the Orks, those damned Xenos will continue to hold the initiative.
" Kerry Von! The Emperor's Chosen!"
"Long live the Governor!"
"Long live Brevis!"
At that moment, the name Kerry von became a symbol of faith for everyone in Brevis.
His prestige reached unprecedented heights, making him the most prestigious governor in Brevis's history, apart from the first governor.
However, the atmosphere in the secret meeting room of the Noble Council was somewhat somber.
Dozens of old nobles sat in chairs, their faces gloomy, sighing softly.
"It's over, it's completely over." A fat nobleman held up his wine glass and took a big gulp of wine.
" Kerry von has taken down Carl II, and his prestige is now at its peak. We have no chance to bring him down anymore."
"Yes," another nobleman sighed.
"Now, the entire Brevis community worships him like a 'god.'"
"We were already no match for him, and now those lowly people are supporting him even more."
"Moreover, the Tithe Fleet is arriving soon. Just you wait and see, Lynn will definitely use this opportunity to fleece us."
"Food, manpower, military equipment... he'll want it all."
"What else can we do?" An old nobleman shook his head helplessly.
"You can't fight city hall; now, you can only obediently cooperate with him."
"Otherwise, he could easily accuse us of betraying the Imperium, and we'd be finished."
While the nobles were sighing and lamenting, at the main port of Brevis.
The Lightning frigate has entered the port and is now steadily docked in the expeditionary fleet's exclusive berthing area.
The hatch opened, and Lynn led Rena off the frigate.
The first important figure to discover Lynn's return was the naval commander of Brevis PDF.
Six months ago, when Lynn had just taken office as governor, the naval commander held him in utter contempt.
He believed that Lynn was just a hothead who rose to power by luck and had no understanding of military and political matters.
He even showed a disdainful expression in front of everyone at the time.
But now, when he saw Lynn again, his smile was so bright it resembled that of a wrinkled pug.
He jogged up to Lynn and gave a respectful, standard military salute, bending at almost a ninety-degree angle.
"Your Excellency, you're finally back! Welcome back in triumph!" The naval commander's voice was filled with undisguised obsequiousness.
On behalf of all the officers and men of the Brevis Navy, I extend my highest respect to you!
"You are truly amazing! You actually managed to recapture Carl II! You are the angel sent by the Emperor to save us!"
Lynn glanced at him indifferently and said nothing.
He had seen plenty of these opportunistic scoundrels.
"Commander," Lynn's voice was calm and indifferent.
"The defense of Star Harbor is now in your hands. Strengthen security and don't let any suspicious individuals slip by."
"Yes! Yes! Don't worry, sir!" Marcus nodded and bowed hurriedly.
"I will personally supervise my men's patrols to ensure that no problems arise!"
Lynn ignored him and walked straight to the private transport plane parked not far away.
He didn't have time to engage in pretense with these people.
The Tithe Fleet is almost here; he doesn't have much time left.
He had to return to the governor's mansion immediately to take stock of all the supplies and prepare to deal with the tax collectors.
More importantly, he had to immediately mobilize Brevis's savages to clean up any traces of the Tyranids activity.
There might be Black Ship from the Adeptus Astra Telepathica in this Tithe Fleet.
The Sisters of Silence on those Black Ship were the Imperium's most professional Psychic Power hunters.
Their noses are sharper than dogs'; if they discover the Tyranids's presence, the consequences will be unimaginable.
The transport plane roared into the sky and flew towards the Governor's Mansion.
