The banquet was held in the main hall behind the front hall.
That was the venue where the union held major projects and banquets; it was large enough to accommodate thousands of people.
At this moment, three or four hundred people had gathered in the hall, mostly presidents and high-ranking members of other guilds, or businessmen who had business dealings with Ryan Union.
They stood in small groups, holding wine glasses and talking in hushed tones.
The topics were nothing more than food, orders, production lines, and the ever-growing threat of the Orks.
The arrival of Lynn and his two companions caused a commotion.
Doudou's enormous body and fully armed appearance are too eye-catching.
Although Lynn was dressed plainly, his composed demeanor and the beautiful woman beside him made him stand out from the crowd.
Who is that?
"I've never seen them before, they must be from some noble family."
"Was that the guy outside shouting '10,000 tons of Kerry ' just now, was that him?"
"Ten thousand tons, what a grand gesture!"
"Which Kerry? I've never heard of him before."
Amidst the murmurs, a figure emerged from the depths of the hall.
He was a man in his fifties, not tall, but with a solid build.
He was wearing a black workwear-style suit, his hair was gray, and his face showed undeniable fatigue.
Trevor Ryan.
His gaze swept quickly across the guests, finally settling on Lynn's face.
In that instant, his pupils contracted slightly; he recognized him.
He was also present at the Ecclesiarchy mass three days ago.
Although he was sitting in the back row, he clearly remembered the young governor who stood on the pulpit, raising his scepter in the Emperor light.
Kerry von.
Brevis's new ruler, the Emperor's chosen one.
Trevor's heart skipped a beat; he had just learned the name Kerry from the Iron Guard.
I had wondered who it could be, but I never expected the governor to actually come here.
Although his mind was filled with doubts, Trevor put on a warm smile and quickly stepped forward to greet Lynn.
"Welcome, welcome! I am Trevor Ryan, the host of this humble feast today."
He did not reveal Lynn's identity.
Lynn took his hand and smiled, " Kerry, this is just a small token of my appreciation."
Trevor breathed a sigh of relief; at least, the governor didn't seem to have any ill intentions.
"You're too kind. Please come in, please come in." He gestured for him to come in.
He led Lynn and the other two deeper into the hall.
People around them quickly made way, their eyes following them.
They were also curious about who had such a big influence that this old man, Trevor, would be so polite to them.
Trevor led Lynn to a relatively quiet rest area on one side of the hall.
There are only simple sofas and coffee tables here, separated from the main banquet area by a row of display cases; it's quiet and secluded.
"Your Excellency the Governor," Trevor said tentatively, lowering his voice.
"May I ask what brings you here today...?"
His tone was respectful, but with a clear sense of wariness.
Lynn waved his hand and sat down on the sofa.
"Don't be nervous, Chairman Trevor," Lynn smiled. "I'm not here today as the governor."
He pointed to his casual clothes:
"I just heard it's your birthday today, so I came to have a drink and share in the joy."
Trevor looked at him, not believing a single word of it.
Would a governor, with his many duties to attend to, really make a special trip to attend the birthday party of a down-on-his-luck union president?
Also, a gift of 10,000 tons of grain?
Lynn leaned back on the sofa, relaxed. "When does the banquet begin?"
"Right away, right away, there are still a few guests who haven't arrived yet," Trevor said hurriedly.
"No need to wait." Lynn stood up.
"I see that almost everyone has arrived, let's begin, don't keep everyone waiting."
Lynn's tone was very natural.
Trevor paused for a moment, then nodded. "Okay, okay, I'll do as you say."
He walked to the center of the hall and announced the start of the banquet.
But people were no longer as enthusiastic and outgoing as before; they all seemed somewhat restrained.
It seemed that he knew Kerry's true identity. Trevor sighed.
Inviting a god is easy, but sending him away is difficult; the key point is that this great god wasn't even invited by himself.
It wasn't until Lynn came out of the room that she realized everyone was staring at her.
His eyes conveyed the sense of "restraint" that students feel when studying on their own and when the homeroom teacher is making rounds.
"Why is everyone staring at me?" Lynn asked.
The workers who had been secretly observing him instinctively looked away.
Lynn laughed, raised his glass, and said loudly:
"Keep the music playing, keep dancing!"
Lynn then downed the glass of his signature "cinder liquor" in one gulp.
Seeing that the governor was approachable and even took the lead in drinking, the atmosphere became lively again.
People flocked to the long table, picked up food and wine glasses, gathered in twos and threes, and talked and laughed loudly.
The band eventually realized what was happening and immediately started playing music.
That was the popular " Forge March " in Midtown, with a strong rhythm, simple melody, and a powerful feel.
Doudou became Lynn's dedicated "bodyguard against drinking."
The hulking Ogryn guard quickly became the center of attention.
"Come on, big guy! I'll toast you!"
A blacksmith, nearly two meters tall and muscular, held up a cup and handed it to Doudou.
Doudou looked at Lynn, Lynn nodded.
Doudou grinned and casually picked up a wine barrel from beside her feet.
"Gulp gurgle gurgle~"
In ten seconds, a five-liter bucket of coal-fired liquor was completely gone.
"Good!!!"
Cheers erupted from the crowd.
Even Lynn was stunned for a moment; he had just finished drinking that glass of coal-fired liquor and it took him a long time to recover.
That was way too impulsive.
The blacksmith was stunned, then burst into laughter and downed the strong liquor in his cup in one gulp.
"Again!"
"Come on then!"
Doudou accepts all comers.
Although he is only eight years old, his digestive system has been genetically optimized, and coupled with his enormous body, he is basically immune to alcohol.
Thus began a frenzy of "drinking the giant."
One worker after another stepped forward to take on the challenge, Doudou drank cup after cup, bucket after bucket.
One person after another was drunk out of control, and the atmosphere in the hall became completely electric.
The workers, who had been somewhat reserved, now relaxed completely.
They surrounded Doudou, cheering and shouting, while they themselves became quite drunk and unsteady on their feet.
As the banquet progressed into its latter half, the hall was filled with people lying down.
The effects of coal cinder liquor are extremely potent; less than half of the people can remain standing.
There were more than a dozen empty wine barrels piled up around Doudou, but he still stood there, though his face was flushed.
Lynn had also drunk quite a bit, but his constitution was also extraordinary, and he remained sober at this moment.
Even Chairman Trevor was slumped on the ground, his eyes already somewhat unfocused.
The union president was drowning his sorrows in alcohol today and drank an unusually large amount.
"Lord Kerry," Trevor said, his tongue slurring.
What brings you here today?
His guard had been almost completely worn down by the alcohol and the revelry.
Lynn put down her glass and looked at him.
"I already said, let's have a drink."
"I don't believe it." Trevor shook his head.
"Someone like you wouldn't come to such a run-down place for no reason."
"What kind of person am I?" Lynn asked.
"A big shot," Trevor said.
"You are young, and there's ambition hidden in your eyes."
His voice lowered:
"Are you also eyeing my ten factories?"
