Xiao Hei inherited the Nether Lord’s arts, and his companions secured the Heaven Rod after defeating Divine Realm rivals and allying with Qi Wu. The group entered a chessboard trial, where an enemy deception forced Mu Fusheng to reveal his strength while his companions faced a possible encirclement.
After Azure Firmament Academy won the God Ascension Ruins, Lu Changsheng investigated a Classic of Mountains and Seas fragment at Phoenix Cry Sect and found Xu Yeming trying to use phoenix fire to save his parents. Xu Yeming became Lu Changsheng’s disciple, and Lu Changsheng and Huang Qian healed his parents, leaving Xu Canghai asking about Lu Changsheng’s origins.
Lu Changsheng and his disciples entered the Qilin Clan’s struggle over the Classic of Mountains and Seas and uncovered the divine temple’s secrets. After Qin Zhan granted the disciples new opportunities, Lu Changsheng intervened in the beast clans’ confrontation and began his plan for Xu Yeming to take control of the Devil Beast Continent.
Lu Changsheng brought the Four Great Beast Clans under Xu Yeming’s leadership and helped him uncover the enemies who had attacked his parents and the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan. Back at the Changsheng Realm, Lu Changsheng began intense individual training for his disciples as a new era approached.
Mu Fusheng protected Jiu Bailu from a forced marriage and helped rally the Four Great Beast Clans against the Seven Treasures Holy Sect, while Liu Ziru used the Dark Domain’s intelligence network to draw out the Xuanyuan Clan. The arc ended with Ye Qiubai and Xu Yeming entering Cangxuan Academy to investigate the Xu Clan’s connections, where Xu Yeming’s blunt reply angered the students.
Ye Qiubai and Xu Yeming entered Cangxuan Academy, where Xu Yeming’s Qilin identity led them to the dying guardian beast and Lu Changsheng. After the Fourth Elder’s plots became clear, the pair left the academy and fled pursuing Xu and Xuanyuan Clan forces with help from Cangxuan Academy’s Grand Elder.
Xu Yeming inherited the Black Lord’s legacy, uncovered clues about his father’s search for the Azure Spirit Sea Soul, and escaped the Xu Clan and Xuanyuan Clan’s pursuit. Disguised as Xu Luo, he infiltrated the Xu Clan and rapidly advanced in the Lunar Eclipse Nether Record, drawing the attention of its elders and a mysterious observer.
Xu Yeming uncovered the plot against his father and entered Heavenly Heart Valley, where Xu Canghai and Bai Qingxin reunited with him. After Xu Yeming claimed the Azure Spirit Sea Soul, Xu Cangyuan brought the clans to attack, and Xu Yeming, Ye Qiubai, and their allies fought back.
Ye Qiubai defeated the Ninth Elder as Xu Yeming’s ties to the Four Great Beast Clans were revealed, and Lu Changsheng moved Heavenly Heart Valley into the Changsheng Realm. Meanwhile, Mu Fusheng drew the forces threatening the Nine Dragons Divine Dynasty toward Azure Dragon City, where allies arrived and the Seven Treasures Holy Sect came to apologize.
Mu Fusheng and his companions secured peace with the Seven Treasures Holy Sect, helped restore Star Hall, and entered the Chaos Divine Dynasty’s ruins to seek Sun and Moon Tokens and approach the Xu Clan and Xuanyuan Clan. The trials tested their strength, honesty, and schemes, while Ye Qiubai and Xu Yeming passed their challenges and Ning Chenxin confronted soldiers threatening a village.
Ning Chenxin and the others faced trials that tested their convictions, combat skills, and alliances as they sought the Sun and Moon Token. Xu Yeming exposed a plot involving the Xuanyuan Clan, then turned the final trial against Xuanyuan Zixi, only for five attackers to turn on him.
Xu Yeming exposed conspirators in the Xu and Xuanyuan Clans, then followed their trail to the Hidden Dragon Abyss with the Black Lord. There they uncovered the Divine Realm’s plan to control the gathered geniuses and seize the God Ascension Writ, but the Ancestral Dragon Soul intervened.
Lu Changsheng entered the Divine Realm, uncovered its plan to enslave the Lower Five Realms, and learned from Nüwa that the crisis was tied to his disciples and the karma of an otherworldly race. He joined Jiang Yiyu and three hostile Divine Realm cultivators on a mission to find a Divine Source Core, where powerful beasts threatened to expose his true strength.
Lu Changsheng secretly killed three mission companions, helped Xuan Heavenly God complete the Realm-Slaying Sword, and entered Ice Soul Heart-Sealing Valley to rescue Jiang Yiyu. After meeting Qin Han beneath the canyon and helping Jiang Yiyu claim the valley’s treasures, he returned to the Heavenly Gods with his identity and plans still concealed.
As the Chaos Divine Dynasty’s core grounds opened, Ye Qiubai’s companions entered the palace and faced the Void White Emperor’s and Samsara Emperor Venerable’s trials. Mu Fusheng and Jiu Bailu also passed a test tied to Heaven Beyond Heaven, leaving them to learn what inheritance rewards awaited and how perilous that realm was.
Lu Changsheng uncovered the Divine Realm’s infiltrators while his disciples fought through the trial floors and claimed their inheritances. The group reunited to aid Xu Yeming, while Ye Qiubai’s clash with Xuanyuan Tianzhao ended with nine sword cries rising from the Sword Peaks.
Ye Qiubai discovered the Azure Cloud Sword Master's plan to absorb him, but Lu Changsheng forced the elder to surrender his power and become a sword spirit instead. After the God-Forbidden Land opened, Shi Sheng underwent a star inheritance while Mu Fusheng and Jiu Bailu intercepted the Divine Realm's forces.
Ye Qiubai and his allies joined the gathered factions to fight the Dragon Elephant Chief God and thwart the Divine Realm’s attempt to seize the central object. After uncovering the Divine Realm’s infiltrators and finding a branch of the World Tree, they returned to the Changsheng Realm as Lu Changsheng continued investigating the Divine Realm’s plans.
Lu Changsheng and his disciples united the realms as the Divine Realm launched a devastating invasion of the Lower Five Realms. With Hong Ying commanding the alliance, Ye Qiubai’s squad ambushed two Chief Gods and prepared to finish them.
