After processing the miscellaneous fish.
Chen Mo leaned against the table, put his feet up, and casually flipped through various documents.
Outside, sirens blared and red lights flashed incessantly. At the end of the corridor, heavy metal doors slammed shut one after another, blocking off sections of the path.
The first page of the document records the entry time of the three copies of Blood of Woden.
The second page contains the transfer commands.
"It was delivered last night and transported away early this morning."
Chen Mo glanced at the signature, "After all this trouble, it turns out I just came here to tour an empty warehouse?"
The transfer order came from the highest experimental department of the German army. The document did not specify the final location, but only left three different transport numbers.
The first batch was sent to Berlin.
The second batch was delivered to the Hellfire Club.
As for the third batch, it was only listed as a special experimental project, and its whereabouts were unknown.
Chen Mo continued flipping through the pages and soon came across a receipt report.
"Recipient: Sebastian Shaw."
He tapped the paper and couldn't help but laugh, "I've been looking for you for ages, and you ended up leaving the order record yourself."
The Blood of Woden was indeed transferred, and the Black King took at least one portion.
Chen Mo wasn't worried about the medicine being used up. To him, there was little difference between the finished product and the person who had been modified. If Xiao Xian were to take it, it would save him a processing step.
He put down the documents in his hand and pulled out the remaining records from the side to continue reading.
"Oh, the experiment log: Subject number seventy-two died nineteen seconds after injection; cause unknown."
He turned another page.
"Subject number 73 underwent deformity after injection; the cause is unknown."
Further on, the reasons for the continued large-scale releases remain unknown.
Chen Mo remained silent for a few seconds.
"You don't know anything about how they died, but you've numbered the dead in order. Your research attitude is very rigorous."
Outside in the corridor, the sound of hurried footsteps grew closer.
Two teams of cyborgs rushed to the vicinity of the archives room, and upon seeing the flesh and blood on the walls and floor, the first few stopped simultaneously.
"The target is inside!"
An officer, hiding around the corner, shouted, "Execute orders! Retrieve all the documents!"
The first few cyborgs hesitated; this archive room looked a bit dangerous.
The officer drew his pistol, just as he was about to give further orders, when an invisible force swept across the corridor.
A row of cyborgs took to the air at the same time, shaking the entire floor and leaving a new layer of fleshy pulp on the walls.
Inside the archives, Chen Mo didn't even look up.
"You can't even keep quiet while reading; you have such basic manners."
Command center of the underground base.
The base commander turned deathly pale as he listened to the muffled sound coming from the communication line.
Just seconds before, two teams of cyborgs rushed to the archives, and then they lost contact.
From departure to death, less than a minute passed.
"Close all exits on the seventh basement level."
The commander gripped the communicator. "Detonate the explosives in the passage and seal off the intruders!"
A technician turned around and said, "Sir, the archives are too close to the stone tablet area. If it's detonated, the stone tablet might also be damaged."
"Then mobilize all guards and hold him off at all costs."
"Sir, the guards are on their way, but after seeing the situation on the seventh underground level, they may be unable to continue fighting."
The commander turned to look in the other direction.
" Sieg Hart! It's time for him to make his move!"
On the other side of the base, a tall man was walking into the elevator shaft.
His name is Sieg Hart, the only Glory Class cyborg in the base, and also the Empire's last line of defense here.
The commander's communication came through quickly.
"Lord Sieg Hart, the intruder is in the archives. Please kill him immediately."
There was no response from the communicator.
Sieg Hart stood in front of the elevator shaft, his right hand already reaching for the control button, but he hesitated to press it.
From the moment the alarm sounded, his body's energy began to fluctuate abnormally.
Fear—he was afraid of the intruder.
With each step he took forward, his heart beat faster; by the time he got here, every part of his body was sending him warnings.
We can't go down; if we get close to that guy, he'll definitely die.
Sieg Hart stared at the closed elevator door, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
Since the modification was completed, he had never felt such a strong sense of crisis. Even if a shell exploded next to him, he wouldn't blink.
This time, however, he didn't even see the enemy's face.
My body no longer wants to move forward.
The fourth basement level is the experimental subject detention area.
After the alarm sounded, half of the soldiers guarding the cells were transferred away. The remaining soldiers stood guard at the corridor exit, glancing into the passageway from time to time.
The largest cell was crammed with nearly a hundred people.
Most of them were so thin they were just skin and bones, their arms covered in needle marks. Some had skin that had turned grayish-black, and a few had skeletal deformities that left them only able to crawl on the ground.
In a corner of the cell, a pregnant woman leaned against the wall, her hands protecting her belly.
Two children were sitting next to her.
The younger girl was too weak to cry anymore and could only clutch at her mother's clothes. The boy was older, his left eye wrapped in yellowed gauze, his right eye fixed on the prison door.
Have you noticed that there are fewer and fewer black dogs?
A man with two missing fingers lowered his voice, "Something serious must have happened."
The old man next to him shook his head.
"Give up, we can't escape. There are still those cyborgs outside."
"What's there to be afraid of? Running away means death, staying means death too."
The man rolled up his sleeve, revealing black patches on the inside of his arm. "I don't have long to live, but before I die, I have to try. Even if I die, I want to die outside."
A few people who were still able to stand slowly approached.
Do you know who's come from outside?
"I'm locked up too, who knows where these people came from?"
"Do you think it could be the Allies?"
"I'd be so grateful if the Allies didn't get driven back to their hometowns by these monsters; I still have two big, healthy boys at home!"
The man peered through the iron bars into the corridor. "Stop talking nonsense! Keep your voices down! Once another batch of these black dogs leaves, we'll figure out how to escape. This kind of opportunity might never come again; we have to take a gamble!"
The pregnant woman asked in a low voice, "But what about the children?"
Everyone fell silent.
The man glanced back at the children in the cage, gritted his teeth, and said, "Those who can walk, come with me. For those who can't, I'll carry one on my back, and the rest will be given to those who can."
The old man stood up, leaning against the wall.
"You all go ahead. This old man can't go far. I'll stay here and buy you some time."
"Don't rush to decide who stays."
The man stared out the door. "We haven't even opened the cell door yet."
At that moment, a muffled thud came from above.
The entire corridor shook, and dust fell from the ceiling. The children in the cells huddled in their mothers' arms, while the guards outside received orders and rushed to the elevator.
As the man watched them leave, a glimmer of hope finally appeared in his eyes.
"Prepare."
Inside the archives.
Chen Mo had already turned to the third research notebook.
Compared to the previous death records, this one finally contains some truly useful information.
The Blood of Woden is not the blood left behind by any mythical creature.
Its essence is a biochemical catalytic agent manufactured using extraterrestrial technology. After entering the human body, the agent forcibly breaks the original energy limit of the cells and then induces secondary changes through special radiation.
The Germany did not master the initial manufacturing technology.
They simply replicated and purified the original sample based on the inscription on the black stone tablet.
Chen Mo turned the page, his lips twitching slightly.
"It sounds impressive, but it's still alien technology."
He probably already knew these settings from when he read comics before.
What really matters to him is the specific manufacturing process.
The notes also contained hundreds of thousands of failed samples.
Detailed explanations are provided regarding which body structures are prone to collapse, which energy reactions indicate fusion failure, and when to stop injections.
The Germany have been researching this for many years, and although the success rate is still ridiculously low, at least they have tried most of the wrong approaches.
"Two hundred thousand people died before us, so at least their deaths weren't entirely in vain."
Chen Mo stored the data inside his body.
Given the adaptability of the Blacklight Virus, he could completely modify this process as long as there were enough materials. The success rate of the cyborgs he created would then be far greater than it is now.
He continued flipping through the pages.
The content that followed became chaotic, with many speculations lacking experimental results, and many places marked with question marks in red pen.
Several pages repeatedly mention the same thing.
The black stone tablet brought this technology.
Currently, only one-fifth of the stone tablet has been deciphered, with most of the remaining content remaining in the speculative stage. However, some of the confirmed text mentions the possibility of other stone tablets.
There may be a second monolith on the moon.
There might be more than one.
Chen Mo stopped.
Simply wiping out the base would only yield a batch of readily available materials. To find all the remaining stone tablets, he would need someone to continue searching the archives, arresting researchers, and utilizing the German military's internal intelligence network.
He originally planned to get rid of the woman after Emma Frost found Shaw.
It seems that this seemingly insignificant move can still be used.
There's no need to destroy the Hellfire Club immediately.
"It can find things and manage people for me."
Chen Mo closed his notebook. "Keep it for now. Even a landlord can't kill his farmhands every day."
At the same time.
In front of the elevator shaft, Sieg Hart finally raised his hand and pressed the communicator.
His voice was a little dry.
"Command center, open the lift door."
The base commander immediately asked, "Sir, are you confident you can eliminate the intruders?"
Sieg Hart looked at his reflection in the metal door, but the confidence he once had was nowhere to be found in his eyes.
He was afraid; he knew that once the door opened, he might never be able to come back.
But he is the glory of the empire, the only one here with a chance to turn the tide.
"I'm sorry, I'm not confident, or rather, I'm afraid. It's truly shameful."
Sieg Hart slowly clenched his fist.
"But I am a soldier of the Empire, the glory of the Empire, and I swear I will never retreat."
He paused, listening to the sound of the elevator gradually approaching behind the door.
"Go notify Berlin, then immediately evacuate all relevant personnel. If I don't return, detonate the entire base."
The metal door leading to death slowly opened.
Sieg Hart walked in resolutely.
"As for the invaders, I will risk my life to find out for the Empire exactly what they are."
