Dark red smoke billowed across the hotel's top floor.
Chen Mo emerged from the smoke, glanced down at the soft handmade carpet beneath his feet, and then looked back at the empty room.
"Not even a welcoming ceremony?"
He took out the communicator and confirmed that the address was correct.
" Tony's service is lacking. At the very least, he should have arranged two rows of people to greet the customer with 'Welcome home, boss!' as soon as they enter."
"Mr. Chen Mo, Mr. Stark originally arranged for the hotel manager to receive you."
JARVIS's voice came through the communicator, "However, considering you entered the room using spatial abilities, the hotel manager is currently waiting at the elevator entrance on the first floor."
Chen Mo paused.
"Then let him go back."
Does this fail to fulfill your requirements for a welcoming ceremony?
"If I suddenly appeared behind him from the rooftop, the welcoming ceremony might turn into a farewell ceremony."
JARVIS was silent for half a second.
That makes sense.
Chen Mo put away the communicator and looked around.
This penthouse suite is ridiculously large.
The living room is 300 square meters, with a floor-to-ceiling window that stretches for over ten meters across the entire wall. Standing in front of the window, you can overlook most of the city, and the cars on the street appear as just a series of slowly moving dots of light.
The floor was paved with light-colored stone, and a set of genuine leather sofas sat in the center. Several oil paintings, the contents of which were incomprehensible, hung on the wall, each with its own individual light fixture underneath.
Near the floor-to-ceiling windows, there is also a heated swimming pool.
The pool water was crystal clear, with lounge chairs and a row of green plants placed beside it. The automatic circulation system operated quietly, even controlling the ripples on the water surface quite smoothly.
On the other side of the suite was a wine cabinet.
Red wine, whiskey, and champagne were displayed on an entire wall, and there was even a special device for regulating temperature and humidity next to it.
Chen Mo walked over and took a look.
"Good."
He took out a bottle of wine, saw the vintage on it, and silently put it back.
Drinking no longer held any real meaning for him; he had only been doing it to tease Tony.
The bedroom is also quite spacious.
In the center is a large bed that can fit seven or eight people, with fresh flowers on the bedside table, and a separate walk-in closet and bathroom next to it.
The bathtub faces a floor-to-ceiling window on the other side.
The entire room, from the cups to the lighting, conveys one word: meaning.
rich.
Unfortunately, Chen Mo no longer feels much for these things.
It possesses an almost endless supply of energy and Matter Transmutation.
Let alone the hotel's top floor.
Even if he wanted to build a Golden Palace, it would be a simple matter of raising his hand.
On the contrary, it's becoming increasingly rare to have a good, peaceful night's sleep.
Chen Mo took off his coat and tossed it onto the sofa.
He didn't use the Blacklight Virus to cleanse his body, nor did he isolate his skin from the water flow. Instead, he walked into the bathroom like an ordinary person and turned on the hot water.
Warm water flowed onto my body.
Chen Mo stood there with his eyes closed for a while.
The Blacklight Virus doesn't need to bathe, nor does it need sleep or food. As long as it has enough energy stored in its body, it can maintain its peak condition indefinitely.
However, not needing to is one thing.
Whether you want to do it or not is another matter.
A dozen minutes later, Chen Mo turned off the hot water, changed into the pajamas provided by the hotel, and lay down on the bed.
He did not leave any clones to keep watch, nor did he use his telekinesis to search the entire hotel.
Someone actually dared to come looking for me at this time.
He's just unlucky.
Chen Mo closed his eyes and quickly fell asleep.
the next day.
The curtains opened automatically to both sides, letting sunlight into the bedroom.
Chen Mo opened his eyes and glanced at the time.
9:20 AM.
He slept for more than seven hours.
There was no attack, no explosion, and no one claiming to be a new god suddenly popped up and invited him to a buffet.
That was a very good sleep.
Chen Mo had just sat up in bed when the doorbell rang.
He changed his clothes, went over and opened the door.
Tony stood outside the door wearing sunglasses, carrying two paper bags, with a food delivery cart full of trays following behind him.
Good morning, Sleeping Beauty.
Tony pushed the food cart into the room. "I thought you'd just hang from the ceiling and hibernate, or curl up into a ball and absorb air."
Chen Mo took the paper bag.
"Dude, do you have some misunderstanding about my lifestyle?"
"Don't blame me."
Tony took off his sunglasses, revealing his still noticeable dark circles. "A guy who can eat people, shapeshift, tear through space, and turn an entire city into his own—his normal lifestyle is indeed hard to guess."
Chen Mo took a Hamburg out of the paper bag.
Is this all you're having for breakfast?
"Yours is the other one, a sandwich."
What's the difference?
"One is round, and one is triangular."
Chen Mo looked at him for a few seconds, then pulled out a chair and sat down.
Tony placed the plate on the table, which contained fried eggs, bacon, toast, and two cups of coffee. Just as he was about to sit down, he saw Chen Mo had already taken a bite of his sandwich.
Tony stared at him for a while.
Do you really need to eat something?
"Unnecessary."
"Sleeping?"
"No need."
"Bath?"
"Theoretically, it's not necessary either."
Tony frowned.
"So what did you do here last night?"
"Take a shower, go to sleep."
"Why?"
Chen Mo put down his breakfast and thought for a moment.
"Perhaps it's to remind myself that I'm still a human being, maybe?"
Tony's teasing expression faded somewhat.
He was indeed somewhat curious.
Given Chen Mo's current abilities, traditional life-sustaining needs can no longer limit him. This guy doesn't need to breathe, doesn't need to rest, and can quickly regenerate even if his body is destroyed.
From the perspective of life form alone, Chen Mo no longer has much to do with humans.
But he can still eat, sleep, complain about the taste of alcohol, and argue with people for ages just to get a bargain.
Tony suddenly realized that these habits were quite well preserved.
A natural disaster that still wants to sustain human life is more reassuring than one that completely abandons humanity.
At least the former won't wake up one day and suddenly decide to reorganize the global population.
"Good."
Tony picked up his coffee. "Keep it up, especially the shower habit. I don't want your custom armor to automatically pop up an air pollution warning the first time it's activated."
Chen Mo glanced at him.
Did you just say something very rude?
"No, I'm just conducting a risk assessment."
"Then you'd better assess how hot that coffee would be if it were poured on your head."
Tony moved the coffee a little further away.
"Ahem, let's get down to business."
He picked up a piece of toast. " Stark Industries is having a technology exhibition today. Energy, healthcare, artificial intelligence, and several new pieces of equipment that won't be sold to the public will all be on display."
"I'm not going."
"No, I haven't finished yet."
"A technology expo, speeches, journalists, and a bunch of people in suits bragging to each other."
Chen Mo continued eating his Hamburg, "Sounds less interesting than going back to take a bath in the sun."
"I will make my public debut wearing new armor."
Tony added.
Chen Mo stopped moving.
How do you make your entrance?
"Trade secret."
Will it explode?
"No, not under normal circumstances."
"What about abnormal situations?"
"With you there, it usually wouldn't last long under normal circumstances."
Tony leaned back in his chair, his face once again displaying that smug smile.
"This tech expo will be broadcast live, and I need to test the new armor's effectiveness in public. Flight, energy structure, and the automatic repair system will all be demonstrated."
"Are you inviting me to participate, or are you asking me to go and act as an insurance agent?"
"Yes, they all are."
Tony made no attempt to hide his intentions. "If the system malfunctions, you're responsible for catching me. If the system works fine, you stand in the audience and witness the world being awestruck by the magnificent Stark technology."
Chen Mo stared at him for two seconds.
He really wasn't interested in the technology exhibition.
But Tony's smugness clearly indicates he's prepared quite a few acts.
It's fine to go and take a look.
In case of any accident at the scene, he can at least have a couple of laughs.
"What time is it?"
Six o'clock in the afternoon.
"OK."
Tony nodded in satisfaction.
"Remember to dress formally."
"Is my outfit not formal enough?"
"You look like you're about to collect protection money."
"I'll change into a suit and the result will be the same."
The two continued eating their breakfast.
Just then, the suite door was opened from the outside by hotel staff.
A middle-aged man in a sharp suit walked in.
He had a neat hairline, a gentle smile on his face, walked slowly, and always kept his hands within Chen Mo's sight.
Chen Mo raised his head.
The person stopped in front of the dining table, his gaze first sweeping over Tony before landing on Chen Mo's face.
Good morning, Mr. Stark.
He nodded slightly and then looked at Chen Mo.
"And welcome back, Mr. Chen Mo."
Coulson gave a polite smile.
" Director Fury has been waiting for you for a long time."
