Who is this?
Chen Mo looked down at the mangled corpse on the ground, then at the piece of the Eye Demon's tentacle he had just picked up.
The New York Sanctum is a bit too lively today.
One creditor had just left when another corpse fell through the spatial rift. If this continues, the Ancient One might consider turning the Sanctum into a dimensional transit station, and charging admission per person.
The Ancient One waved his hand, and golden magic swept across the room.
The remaining dimensional fluctuations quickly dissipated, and the spatial rift that had not yet closed was also surrounded by a magic array, leaving only a narrow black gap that was slowly repairing itself.
He looked at the corpse on the ground.
Strange.
Chen Mo was taken aback.
"Huh? This isn't his scene yet, is it?"
"Yes and no."
The Ancient One walked to the corpse, knelt down, and said, "He doesn't belong to our world; he's just Strange from another world."
"Oh, so you're from the next village."
That's one way to understand it.
The Ancient One reached out and grabbed the severed arm.
The severed hand still gripped his robe tightly, its Five Fingers completely stiff. The Ancient One tapped the knuckles a few times, drawing away the remaining magic, and only then did the hand slowly loosen.
He picked up the note next to the severed hand.
The paper strip looked very old, yet its surface was completely undamaged. Dense clusters of glowing runes were constantly shifting positions.
The Ancient One looked at it for a long time.
Then, he sighed softly.
"What's wrong?"
Chen Mo leaned over and glanced at it twice.
I didn't understand it at first glance.
I took another look, but I still didn't understand.
The paper was covered in moving scribbles, with occasional eyes popping out from the characters. Just as Chen Mo was about to examine it closely, those eyes all turned and looked at him.
What does this thing say?
"Request for assistance."
The Ancient One touched the paper, the glowing runes immediately stopped moving.
"The world Strange inhabits has completely spiraled out of control. The existing order is collapsing, countless lives are being lost, and survivors are being hunted down."
Who did it?
No record.
The Ancient One flipped the note over to the back.
Behind them were only a few hastily written runes, some of which were covered in blood. The writer must have left the message during their escape, without having had time to explain what had happened.
Chen Mo glanced at the Ancient One.
"So, the multiverse is in such a mess, and you, the Sorcerer Supreme, didn't even notice?"
The Ancient One slowly raised her eyelids and looked at Chen Mo.
"I've been dealing with the impact caused by certain individuals lately."
"Why are you looking at me? What does this have to do with me?"
"From Loki's early arrival, to the change of hands for Mjolnir, and then to the huge trouble you caused in the interdimensional world."
The Ancient One said calmly, "I have repaired seventeen nodes just to prevent the real timeline from completely breaking down."
Chen Mo paused for two seconds, then nodded slightly.
"Thanks for your hard work."
There are still 32 sites that have not been addressed.
"Wow, you'd better hurry up."
The Ancient One stared at him, her eyes, hidden beneath wrinkles, narrowed slightly.
Chen Mo immediately turned his head and began to study the corpse with a serious expression.
"Tsk tsk tsk, that Strange died a truly horrible death."
The Ancient One did not pursue the matter further.
He looked at the note again, his expression gradually becoming serious.
As the Sorcerer Supreme, the Ancient One regularly observes the multiverse to ensure that calamities in other worlds do not spread to our own dimension.
But ever since Chen Mo appeared, the future of the world has begun to change drastically.
The once stable timeline is now changing every single day.
The Ancient One has been so busy cleaning up Chen Mo's mess lately that she hasn't had much energy left to observe other universes.
"It seems a lot has happened outside."
The Ancient One put away the note and looked up at the crack.
"The fact that Strange went to such lengths to force his way through the world barrier to send this distress message shows that his world is no longer capable of resisting."
"Old Master, if you ask me, it's also possible they're trying to shift the blame elsewhere."
Chen Mo reached out and turned the body over.
"If you can't beat them, lure them into someone else's territory. It's a bit unethical, but it's really effective."
The Ancient One glanced at him.
"Are you very familiar with this?"
"Generally speaking, it's mainly about having the talent."
Chen Mo squatted down beside the corpse, his expression gradually becoming serious.
He had no intention of devouring the corpse.
Although he was just Strange from another world, he was still considered one of the Ancient One's students. He had just been preparing to cooperate with the old man, and now he was eating his student right in front of him, which was rather disrespectful.
Most importantly, there's something wrong with the body.
Most of Strange's torso had disappeared.
Moreover, it looked as if someone had forcibly torn it apart with their bare hands; there were obvious compression marks on the broken spine and ribs.
The other man grabbed Strange's body, first tearing off his left arm, then ripping flesh open from his chest.
"He's quite strong."
Chen Mo picked up the severed hand and examined the break.
Immediately afterwards, his brows furrowed.
The broken bones were charred black.
The surrounding flesh was completely carbonized, and a highly concentrated, scorching energy remained within it. Although some time had passed, the wound was still radiating high temperatures.
Chen Mo extended a finger and touched the charred bones.
A wisp of red light emerged from the wound, only to be instantly enveloped by the Blacklight cells.
" Heat Vision?"
The Ancient One came to his side.
Have you ever seen this kind of ability?
"I've not only seen it, I can do it myself."
Chen Mo raised his head, a faint red light appearing in his eyes.
The nature of this high-temperature energy is very similar to the Heat Vision he obtained from his Homelander.
It's not just about similar abilities.
Even the methods of killing were very similar.
First, use brute force to tear through the defenses, then finish them off with Heat Vision. If the conditions are right, you might even get a couple of bites in the end.
Chen Mo looked at the fine teeth marks on the corpse's chest.
For some reason, he suddenly had a feeling that he was a fellow criminal.
Do you think it's possible that I exist in another world?
I can't be sure.
The Ancient One shook her head.
"In an Infinity world, anything is possible. Perhaps another you exists in some other world, or perhaps Chen Mo never existed there at all."
"I wouldn't waste another one like that."
Chen Mo pointed to the corpse.
"He only ate half of it and then threw it away; he doesn't eat properly. You can tell he hasn't received a proper education."
The Ancient One didn't refute it; after all, that's how she talked to Chen Mo.
Chen Mo placed the severed hand back next to the corpse and continued to examine the remaining wounds.
Heat Vision, flight, and immense physical strength.
If you add a cape and a bodysuit, this setup becomes very familiar.
The fact that the opponent could tear the Sorcerer Supreme to shreds clearly indicates that he was not just at the level of Homelander.
Thinking of this, Chen Mo stood up.
"Close the crack first."
The Ancient One looked at him with some surprise.
Aren't you going to go and take a look?
I like finding bargains, but I don't like home delivery.
Chen Mo said matter-of-factly, "The situation on the other side is unclear, and this avatar is weak. If we rush over now and run into a tough guy, they might think you're delivering takeout to him."
The Ancient One nodded.
He raised his hands, and the golden magic circle quickly closed.
The crack began to close.
Just when only a thin crack remained, a loud bang suddenly came from the other side of the fissure.
boom!
A deafening sonic boom swept through the Sanctum.
The wall, which had just been restored, cracked open again, and the golden magic circle covering the crack shattered instantly. A pair of hands forcefully reached out from the crack, grabbed the space on both sides, and tore it outward with force.
The physical space was directly torn apart.
The next second, a burly figure smashed through the dimensional barrier and crashed heavily into the center of the Sanctum.
The ground collapsed rapidly, and large pieces of debris flew in all directions.
Chen Mo stood in front of the Ancient One, his body instantly covered in a black and red armor.
The smoke and dust cleared.
The person who arrived slowly straightened up.
He wore a blue, tight-fitting battle suit with a prominent U-shaped logo printed on the chest, and a wide red cape draped over his shoulders. His burly body made the suit bulge, and his eyes were slowly glowing red.
Chen Mo was stunned when he saw the distinctive outfit.
"Damn it, did you even pay the copyright fee? You just copied it like that?!"
