When Doomsday crashed down on him like a stroke of good fortune, Chen Mo didn't even glance at it.
At the entrance to the passage, the last two guards were dragged out by Barry, and then the golden-red lightning flashed around the corner.
There are no more living people left to move in the hall.
That's good; you can apply a little more force now.
The force of the bone spurs brushed against the face. Chen Mo withdrew his gaze, clenched his right fist, and slammed it towards that ashen face.
With a loud bang, the entire hall shook violently.
Doomsday's momentum abruptly stopped, its head tilted back, and its massive body was sent flying backward.
It crashed through the damaged isolation chamber, its steel plates dented layer by layer, and finally got stuck in the load-bearing wall.
Gravel was scattered all over the ground, and several broken pipes were still hanging from its shoulder, constantly spewing out white steam.
Chen Mo shook his hand and looked down at his knuckles.
Blood was everywhere, all of it from the other side.
"Your version is too old for a Doomsday."
He stepped over the construction debris that had just been created and strolled leisurely toward the paralyzed Doomsday, his gaze falling on the crimson mark on the monster's chest.
The strange bloodstain was still shimmering.
Doomsday's jaw was knocked askew from the punch, but in just a few breaths, the dislocated bones rejoined.
The grayish-white nail layer on the face thickened, and several thick muscles bulged out on the neck.
This is Doomsday, newly resurrected, though still far from fully grown. It's certainly enough to deal with Barry.
But how can we use it to deal with him?
That old fox, the Batman Who Laughs, has seen the miserable end of the Doomsday before.
A piercing metallic scraping sound came from deep within the wall Doomsday braced himself against the steel plates on either side and pulled his body out of the ruins with a sudden burst of strength.
Instead of charging directly at Chen Mo again, it grabbed half a piece of metal wall and slammed it down on Chen Mo's face.
Chen Mo stepped aside, and with one step, he left a double image in the air; he was already standing on the metal wall.
"Two people are fighting, and you just jump in with a sponge stick? Forget it, we can't expect too much from your brain."
Chen Mo reached out and grabbed the monster's wrist, his fingers tightening.
The power of the Blacklight exploded instantly, and he twisted the arm, which was thicker than a water bucket, behind his back.
Doomsday his body slightly, and another fist swept across, sharp bone spurs grazing Chen Mo's collar.
Chen Mo lowered his head to avoid it, and then kicked it hard in the back of the knee.
His heavy body immediately knelt down.
Immediately afterwards, he pressed down on the struggling head and slammed it to the ground.
The heavy alloy floor collapsed instantly, and several nearby load-bearing walls and partitions were thrown high into the air before overturning into the sewage.
Doomsday, bracing itself against the ground, growled as it struggled to stand.
Chen Mo stepped on its back, and with a little force, the two gray-white arms that had just straightened bent down again.
"Lie down, I need to think about something."
The only sounds in the hall were the depressurizing pipes and the monster's incessant growls beneath their feet.
Chen Mo stroked his chin, his gaze sweeping towards the corner of the wall not far away.
Several surveillance cameras had been smashed, and the remaining one was leaning against its metal bracket, its red indicator light still flashing faintly.
He didn't rush to tear it down.
Since the bat hiding behind the scenes wants to see, let him see.
The problem is, you can't go through all that trouble to wake Doomsday just to watch him unilaterally beat up monsters.
Was this a test of his current strength, or a delaying tactic?
As Chen Mo stared at the scarlet bloodstain, a sudden, violent upward force came from beneath his feet.
The monster's shoulders and back were rapidly widening, its grayish-white armor pressing against the growth, and several new bone spurs were pushing up its ankles.
Chen Mo took a half step to avoid the bone spur, stepped on its retracting hand, then bent down and threw a punch.
The bulging back collapsed back down, and the floor beneath Doomsday sank again.
"They evolved, and then what?"
Chen Mo stretched his shoulders, his expression completely calm.
This thing's evolutionary ability is truly illogical; unfortunately, I can evolve too.
Moreover, it starts from a higher point and evolves faster.
It had just adjusted its muscles to withstand the previous punch when Chen Mo's next punch was already twice as powerful.
Regeneration allows it to continue taking hits, but it can't help it immediately retaliate.
This subtle difference is something the person lying at your feet clearly hasn't grasped yet.
On the other side, deep within the passage.
Barry moved the last two wounded men through the second isolation gate.
He leaned against the wall, panting heavily, and turned to look at Clark beside him.
The big guy was able to stand up, but his face was still a bit bluish.
"Hey buddy! Can you still move? I need to go back and help him."
Clark shook his head with difficulty, his gaze fixed on the passageway that was still flashing green light.
"Turn off those transmitters first, then I can go in and help."
Barry took a deep breath and ran quickly along the power cable channels on the wall.
He found the switch in the power supply room on the side, and pulled it hard with both hands on the red power-off mechanism.
A dull thud sounded as the power went out.
The eerie green radiation that had previously rendered Clark powerless vanished instantly, leaving only the emergency indicator light flashing.
Clark exhaled a long breath, clenched his fist, and the familiar power began to surge through his body once again.
"Much better, let's go."
Just as the two were about to leave, another loud crash came from the direction of the hall, causing a large amount of dust to fall from the ceiling above.
Barry's expression immediately changed.
"No, that thing will only get stronger the more we fight it, we can't keep dragging this out!"
Clark strode ahead, his expression extremely serious.
"Alright! I'll hold it off, you take Chen Mo and leave first."
Barry responded and followed behind, gritting his teeth.
But when they stormed into the dilapidated hall, the sight before them stunned the two future superheroes.
The center of the hall was no longer a complete floor, but a huge, deep pit.
Chen Mo stood expressionlessly on the back of Doomsday's hand, his other hand pressing down on the hideous head.
Just as Doomsday tried to crawl out from the ruins, he was shoved back down like a ball with a thud.
Chen Mo patted the dust off his hands and turned to look at him.
What are you doing here?
Barry opened his mouth, looking at Chen Mo, whose coat wasn't even torn, and then at Doomsday, who was almost turned into a specimen in the deep pit.
He silently swallowed back the resolve he had prepared to use to take the monster down with him.
"... I'll save you."
Chen Mo looked down at the monster and raised an eyebrow.
"Then you're late."
Barry stared at the grayish-white paw, half-buried in the ground and still twitching unconsciously, and his lips twitched involuntarily.
It's more than just being late.
If he had arrived two minutes later, Chen Mo would probably have saved the monster's ashes from cremation with a single punch.
