Edgar didn't respond, but instead pushed several intelligence reports in front of him.
"Sir, you can take a look; these are the latest internal documents from the joint investigation team."
Chen Mo glanced down at it.
The first document is about the plan to seal off the abyss of Carnival Island.
The second document was an investigation request regarding the truth behind Homelander's death.
The third document states that they are preparing to take over the data on Compound V.
Chen Mo, with a cigar in his mouth, slowly raised his eyebrows.
While these people claimed they were conducting an investigation, they had actually already drafted a plan to take over Vought.
Information on Compound V, residual samples of V1 enhancer, and a list of Superman experiments.
Pack it all up and take it all with me, leave nothing behind.
"No."
Chen Mo placed the documents on the table, his expression genuinely puzzled. "Are they treating Vought like a free buffet?"
Edgar nodded.
"Without you, Vought would be a free cafeteria for them."
He raised his hand and tapped the file on the screen; a meeting minutes were unfolding.
Several lines of content are highlighted in red.
With Homelander's death, Vought lost its supreme military deterrent.
The current stage presents the best window of opportunity to take over core assets.
Control must be achieved before the unknown dark red individual reappears.
Chen Mo stared at those lines of text for two seconds, then suddenly smiled.
"Understood."
He leaned back in his chair, twirling his cigar between his fingers. "Let's take this opportunity to give Vought a little talking-to."
Edgar didn't laugh. He calmly added, "Yes, sir, they believe the Homelander are dead, Vought, now lacking their core strength, will have to accept their terms."
"That means Vought is now a toothless tiger."
"To be precise, they were kittens that had lost their teeth, claws, and spines. Without Superman, Vought was barely stronger than an ant in their presence."
After listening, Chen Mo looked down at the cigar in his hand and flicked off the ash.
"Your evaluation is much more detailed."
Just then, the office door was suddenly pushed open.
Ashley rushed in, her makeup still relatively intact, but her expression was completely out of control.
"Mr. Edgar, something's happened!"
She rushed to the desk, nearly dropping the tablet she was holding. "They've started putting pressure on the company, and the board has even called an emergency meeting."
Chen Mo looked up at her.
Ashley froze under his gaze, her voice instinctively softening.
"They demanded Mr. Edgar's removal from office."
There was a moment of silence in the office.
Chen Mo, with a cigar in his mouth, slowly blinked.
Whom do they want to remove from office?
Ashley glanced at him, then at Edgar, her face paling even more.
"They want to remove Mr. Edgar and then elect a new acting head who is willing to cooperate with the investigation team."
"Oh."
Chen Mo nodded, then looked down at the documents.
Edgar raised his hand and swiped across the screen.
The next second, the giant display screen on the front of the office lit up.
One by one, the profile pictures were brought up.
Below each person's profile picture is a dense string of information.
Family members.
Overseas accounts.
The mistress's residence.
Private hospital records.
And a few transactions that didn't look very clean.
Ashley stood beside her, her eyes widening.
When she saw the name of one of the directors, she opened her mouth, then abruptly closed it again.
"Sir, this is a complete list of the current board members."
Edgar spoke calmly, as if presenting a routine financial statement, "Seven of them received external funding, three have clandestine dealings with the military, and two are attempting to transfer Vought's core laboratory data to an overseas trust."
Chen Mo raised an eyebrow upon hearing this.
" Old Ai, you're preparing pretty quickly."
Edgar looked at him.
"Sir, I've been preparing ever since they first requested access to the core laboratory."
Chen Mo, with a cigar in his mouth, couldn't help but chuckle.
"It has to be you, you're so smart."
Chen Mo raised his hand and tapped the old faces on the screen.
"Are all these people in the conference room now?"
Most of the board members are already present.
Edgar paused. "Two government representatives are in the gallery. They don't have formal voting rights, but they are the ones who truly influence the outcome."
"Good."
Chen Mo stubbed out his cigar in the ashtray and slowly stood up. "It's a good opportunity to clean up the trash so I don't have to rummage through everything later."
Ashley's expression changed, and she bent over awkwardly, her heart pounding.
Edgar merely turned slightly to the side.
Do I need to attend the meeting as usual?
"As usual."
Chen Mo walked to the French windows and looked at his reflection in the glass.
The Blacklight Virus moves slightly under the skin.
A few seconds later, his figure began to shrink, his facial features became ordinary, and he was wearing an assistant's uniform.
When he turned around, he had completely transformed into any young assistant you could see anywhere in the company.
"Lead the way, I'll go in with you."
Chen Mo straightened his cuffs. "Today, my main responsibility is to serve tea and water, and also to see who's the most stubborn."
Ashley swallowed hard.
Today may be the most dangerous board meeting in Vought's history.
The atmosphere in the boardroom was tense.
The long table was filled with people on both sides. Several directors were dressed in handmade suits, their faces serious, but their eyes couldn't hide their excitement.
Homelander! He died on Carnival Island.
The Seven were effectively defunct, and Edgar had exhausted all his Superman trump cards.
Several people had already begun to fantasize about how to seize Edgar's legacy.
In a corner of the conference room, two government representatives sat quietly, only occasionally glancing down at their documents.
As Edgar pushed open the door and entered, the noise in the conference room gradually subsided.
Chen Mo followed behind him with her head down, carrying a silver tray in her hands.
Several cups of coffee were on the tray.
Nobody cared about him.
A gray-haired director spoke first, " Stan, you've seen the situation. Vought must make a decision today."
Edgar walked to his seat but did not sit down.
"I'm listening, you can continue."
Another director pushed the documents onto the table.
"What the group needs now is cooperation, not confrontation. Of course, we can't confront them anyway. The joint investigation team's demands are severe, but if we hand over some information, we can exchange it for a chance to survive."
"Partial data?"
Edgar looked at him.
"The core laboratory, the Compound V project, V1 residual samples, and Carnival Island related files—this is part of the information?"
Chen Mo walked over with his coffee and almost burst out laughing.
The gray-haired director cleared his throat.
"Ahem, Stan, you did contribute to the group in the past, but things are different now."
He raised his chin, his tone now more condescending, "You must take responsibility for the Carnival Island incident, and you must take responsibility for the deaths of Homelander. You should resign."
Edgar didn't answer immediately; he raised his hand and placed a paper document on the table.
"Before we formally discuss the impeachment process, I suggest you take a look at this."
The director frowned and reached for the document.
He turned to the first page, his expression relatively normal.
When he turned to the second page, his movements slowed down.
When he turned to the third page, his hand stopped.
A director standing nearby asked impatiently, "What's wrong?"
The man didn't answer; sweat slowly began to bead on his forehead.
Edgar watched them calmly.
"This document contains all the verifiable records of your illegal transactions over the past few years."
In the conference room, the expressions of several people changed simultaneously.
"Absurd!"
A portly board member slammed his fist on the table and stood up abruptly. "This is a blatant threat! Stan, do you think you can stop the board from fulfilling its duties with these fabricated documents?"
Chen Mo, holding the tray, looked up at him.
This person has a loud voice, but isn't very bright.
On the government representatives' table, the middle-aged man on the left was looking down at his documents, his face drained of color.
He saw his name, and a sum of campaign funds that he thought would never be discovered.
The younger representative on the right reacted even faster.
He didn't say anything, but simply closed the file, placed his hands on the table, and sat up much more upright than before.
Is Edgar planning to take everyone down with him? Is he really that naive?
The young representative glanced at Edgar's assistant, who seemed inexplicably enthusiastic behind him, and sweat began to bead on his forehead.
"Hey, is it possible to reconcile?"
The gray-haired director slowly stood up, glanced around the conference room, and looked at the two government representatives with confidence.
The combined forces of Earth's top five against Edgar, that stinky black devil, give us the advantage!
" Stan, I think you've lost your judgment."
He pointed at Edgar, "From this moment forward, I propose that the board immediately freeze all your powers, and that the management committee take over Vought International."
Several directors immediately nodded in agreement.
I agree.
I second that.
Agreed.
Edgar stood there, his face serene.
Chen Mo carried the tray and slowly walked around the long table, placing the last cup of coffee in front of the white-haired director.
The director frowned and glanced at him.
"Who let you in?"
Chen Mo didn't answer. He raised his hand and placed the tray on the table.
The metal tray made a very soft sound when it touched the table.
But a few quick-thinking people in the meeting room had already started taking action.
On the government representative's platform, a young representative suddenly knelt on the ground.
His chair slid back a bit, making a dull thud as it dragged across the carpet.
"What's wrong?"
The white-haired director looked at him with a puzzled expression.
"Sir, did you slip?"
The representative didn't look at him; he was looking at Chen Mo.
To be precise, it was watching the disguise slowly fade from Chen Mo's face.
The ordinary assistant's facial features began to change.
Young, carefree, and with a slightly sleepy, lazy air about him.
But a flash of dark red light passed through those eyes.
The other representative realized what was happening and immediately knelt down as well.
The two directors sitting at the end of the long table also noticed it.
The color drained from their faces instantly.
"Blood..."
Someone had just uttered a syllable when they swallowed the rest of their words.
In the conference room, several directors who hadn't yet reacted still looked completely bewildered.
They looked at Edgar, then at the two government representatives who had suddenly knelt down, completely bewildered.
The white-haired director frowned, starting to think. Something's wrong; something must have happened that I don't know about!
Edgar stood to one side, his hands naturally folded in front of him.
Chen Mo smoothed his hair.
"Your heads are too high."
The next second, an energy wave shot out from his fingertips.
